Characters: Starfire, Richard, and anyone else is invited to join! Setting: Mid-afternoon on a closed beach. Previous Threads: None Plot Summary: One lonely patrol, Starfire spots a 30ft amalgamation of dead fish, and worries that it might be radioactive given it a)glows and b)appeared after a major spill. It seems to have taken all the toxic waste into itself and now is mindlessly terrorizing the city. Can the Titans stop this gross sea monster? Or will it be a case of bad fish?

Jump City. It was bright, the sun was shining, birds were flying freely in the air, and Starfire was enjoying a rooftop snack one lonely patrol. It was not often she went out alone, but necessity called for it when others were otherwise occupied. The Titans were not so different from any other teenager; like any other lonely girl, she kept checking her communicator for any calls. No one was available.
At least the view of the city was beautiful. She sipped from a juice-box as she took in the sight. She could see the ocean pretty well atop one of the shiny towers in financial district. It did not beat the view of it back on their little island, but still very nice.
It was just a shame that there had been a bad leak from the power plant. Citizens of Jump City hadn't been able to swim due radiation concerns. Starfire had personally gone to the site of the leak to try and help them contain the problem before it put anyone else at risk. The good news was that they've had remarkable success in reducing the toxic waste and radiation levels. It was rather extraordinary how well it was being handled.
Except, it turned out to be rather fishy when a 30 ft monster made of glowing, dead sea life rose from the shores. Break time was over! Starfire quickly sent out an alert to let the other Titans know that there was a monster in Jump City, and then flew off toward the coastline to intercept it. As soon as she arrived the first thing that she noticed was the awful smell. She wished she could fight with one hand covering her nose.
It was difficult to describe what she was looking at other than it is the gross because it was a bipedal, four limbed creature made of fish parts; and every fish head had working eyes. There was even a shark head where the 'belly' of the beast ought to be. It's actual head was that of a whale's. Sad, but... still rather disgusting.
“Please stay away from our city... oh...” Starfire made a face as she came in closer, trying to figure out how to fight it. She fired a starbolt which seemed to startle it. If her hypothesis was right, then the reason why this creature existed was because it interacted with, and absorbed nuclear radiation. She wasn't sure if it was radioactive itself, which would pose a significant risk to her team and the city. It reminded her of the dilemma in Siberia.
The creature looked at her with all its hundreds of little fish eyes like she was a fly, and hence a meal. Attention caught, she tried to draw it back away from the city toward the water. It appeared as unintelligent as the zombies from many a movie night, but its sheer size posed a problem. There had to be a way to bring it down to a more manageable level so that the city could contain and study it. Perhaps if she strategically took out its 'limbs' but it was a bit difficult to do while flying away and avoiding getting eaten.
Speedy received Star's distress signal and zipped across the city skyline rooftop to rooftop, trying to reach the outskirts as quickly as possible.
Things were looking super bad.
There was some terrincredible beast at the beach, as well as alien activity, like an episode of MartinMystery. Only more like an episode of Captain Planet, maybe, since there were no ancient curses to lift.
Even if it looked like there were.
As he arrived, the East Titan couldn't help but take a couple of selfies with it from his T.Comm. and send them home to Aqualad straightaway. Cruel, but they'd still be cool; the poor guy'd get over it eventually..!
"Starfire!" cried the second ginger on the scene, in a not-Robin-enough tone. The ardent archer was also extremely grateful for the fortunate shift of wind. It was as if Jump City itself was blowing the foul creature's stench away from itself.. ..and, granted, towards the giant T in the middle of the bay o'er yonder.
Hopefully the Tower wasn't absorbent.
"Here to help! Here's the plan. You make fishsticks, I pack 'em in the freezer." His immediate thought was containment, but nets alone weren't going to stop the towering terror from moving in its undead parts' element.
A good thick layer of ice would do the job real nice, though.
Speedy shot IceArrow after arrow as follow up for wherever Star was 'Bolting parts of the Thing's limbs asunder, or any bits still in motion. The ice was spreading quickly, aided by how wet the beast was to begin with, a lot of the freezing over following a trail along the individual sea creatures' bodies in a convenient manner. However, they couldn't just let it all sit in the ocean for too long, or all the ice would melt and they'd have to start all over again. If only there was another strongarm free to chuck the whole package into the ultimate frozen food aisle..
..space.
"Woaaah there, Killer. Let's save this dish for later..!"
The Thing reared its whaley head and began slapping waves at the tasty little teenagers on the sand and in the salty air. Speedy could only frost his own boots over and brace himself, now standing backwards from the impact of the towering waves.
Richard had finally arrived at Jump City. The young Daxamite breathed in deeply and exhaled out, as he took off into the sky whilst making sure everyone who arrived on the station left. "So, this is Jump City huh? I must admit, this is quite a lovely place. I wouldn't mind making this place a home for myself, and no sign of rain either." Richard muttered to himself, grinned at the wildlife bird that accompanied him in the air. Everything appeared to be just another regular day here in Jump City.
Justice continued to mind his own business as he walked around town, he observed the busy town's folk, and smirked. "Well, I'm bored... There's got to be something-" He was about to finish his sentence, until the people had already begun to ran away, screaming for their lives, as several armed police and army vehicles came speeding down the highway. "Heeeeeellooooo opportunity~" Richard demonstrated a wicked grin, as he flew into the sky, and eventually landed on one of the rooftops that was close to the scene. He blinked, and showed a surprised look upon his face when Richard saw the 30 ft monster, he noticed how the beast approached the shores with the intention to destroy.
"Greeeat, that right there is nightmare fuel for the week. Looks like I won't be sleeping well tonight." The Daxamite complained with a heavy sigh that followed soon afterwards. He looked at the monster's anatomy, he noticed the legs could be a viable weak spot. Though Richard also noticed a red haired girl in mid air. "Whoah. Who is that girl? Shes beautiful." Richard asked himself in his mind, the moment he gazed upon her it felt like a cliche romance movie scene. In his vision, Starfire moved in slow motion and her body glistened in the sunlight. Though with the monster not only attempted to try and eat her, and also causing havoc it very much ruined the mood.
"Oh right, monster trying to destroy the city. Forgot about that." Justice reminded himself, covered his head with the hood, which shrouded his upper face. He flew back into the air once more, and charged straight towards the 30 ft monster. The Daxamite started to use the opportunity to attack the beast's limbs, mainly the legs.
"Hey as long as there is pizza invovled, I'm all good!"
"I'd give my life...Not only for Honor...But for you..."
The sound of her name being shouted was common, but the voice was different. She looked over and saw the archer, waving to him before having to swerve out of the way of a giant fin with fish-heads like warts. She flew down lower to hear from him and agreed to his plan. She had also considered taking out the limbs, but freezing the pieces was a great solution even if she didn't understand the fishstick reference.
From the shear mass, and its absorbent powers, the task was more time consuming on its own. It had retreated somewhat in the water making it difficult to see where to aim. Then, it used its massive size to create a big wave. Her mind immediately went to her friend on the beach as the waves threatened to fold over him. Even if he managed to stay rooted on the spot, the impact would hurt. She abandoned her job of smack-and-hack to swoop down and pick him up in a princess carry.
Just when Starfire had her arms full with Speedy, someone came on the scene to assist. A hooded figure flew and charged at the monster point blank. Her heart hitched at radiation concerns and put Speedy down at the nearby lifeguard seat to go forward. "Careful! The monster is radioactive!" she called out without knowing the helpful stranger's capabilities.
A salty spritz of seafoam landed on his crown, as the only indication he'd even been in danger.
"Thanks, Star! I've already had my bubble bath for the day." The frothy tiara dripped down into his ear a little as gravity was contested with, and he was lifted into the air like a new bride by his strongarm teammate.
"Yeah, at least bring some gloves, bro!" he called, motioning to his armsocks. Which didn't really count.
Speedy also called after the guy, but his flying speed was top-notch, and it was unlikely his now faraway hollering could reach Justice in the midst of all that floppy wet lip-smacking slappy ruckus the fish-beast was making by virtue of being disgusting. And humongous.
Their progress had been much, but the new addition to the effort would either be a step forward for success in quelling the threat, or a step back in having to stop and treat a newly radioactive metahuman.
The best he could do was continue the onslaught of ice for now, propping a foot up on the armrest of the lifeguard chair he'd been so graciously granted for higher vantage due to Starfire's good thinking. He threw in a volley of ExplosiveArrows too, now, hoping to at least blind the main head of the creature while their unknown new ally took his chances with becoming glow-in-the-dark.
Justice retreated from his onslaught, he returned back to Starfire's position, whilst analysed the situation with his eyes. The Daxamite scanned left to right, then from the monster head to body, and then turned to look at Jump City. Of course the monster just HAD to be radioactive; no one ever said that this battle was ever going to be easy. The dreaded feeling crawled up Justice’s spine. Fowl, dark images appeared of Jump City being destroyed by such monster.
With several slaps to his own face, Justice regained his senses, and turned his head back around to face the monster. "Alright, anyone have any ideas? I could use my heat vision to sever the monster's head... However, I doubt that would do any good, due to its blood possibly contaminating the waters... Not unless we could someone seal the monster up in a giant dome? Or maybe hurl the beat into outer space? Any ideas at all would be just lovely right about now."
Justice asked whilst he floated backwards in mid-air, noticing the monster's ongoing approach. This was going to be a serious problem once the monster would land on the shore. He would look to Starfire for guidance, and even lowered his head and eyed up Speedy. He vision returned to the monster, leaving little option but to slowly charge up his heat vision, which caused his eyes under the hood to glow a hollow red.
"Hey as long as there is pizza invovled, I'm all good!"
"I'd give my life...Not only for Honor...But for you..."

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
