All those little red flags waving in front of Aura's face made her roll her eyes. She wasn't exactly meaning it for Cat or anything but still. Black and white. Really people, what was this 1986 or something? "There's no such thing as black and white. There's an infinite amount of varying shades of grey but true black and white doesn't exist." As she spoke her gaze fell back to Cat, her tone a lot more serious than it had been back in the park. Clearly she wasn't exactly the idiot she made people think she was. When Cat asked where she had been, Aura grew thoughtful. She hadn't exactly kept track of the towns and cities she passed through. There was just too many to count. Seriously, just think about it. She was from New York and Jump City is in California.
"I've been here and there. I just don't remember. So many places and so little time spent there. Next question?" Sure the person before her was a pleasant person and all but telling everything she did remember from her travels wasn't something she wanted to do especially when there were still a few little red warning flags hanging around. Cautiously, she picked up the mug of hot chocolate that was in front of her and took a sip. Part of her was wondering if she was going to die from poison but other than that, she was content with the way things were. Now all she wondered was what Cat's next question was going to be.
Cat rolled her eyes a little at Aura's face. "Heroes really think that way, they don't care much for neutrals, besides my mentor was old school so I picked up on that." Her nose crinkled a little at Aura response. She really was no help, but that was a good quality in neutrals and villains. "Well that was informative, so if no real personal information, care to share why you're in town? New York is pretty far from Jump." It was frustrating to have to try and get information but that was how the game was played it seemed. "If you wont answer that one, do you have any special talents?"
For now, she would humor the girl sitting across from her for no other reason than to see how she'd react. Maybe, just maybe, the girl who had introduced herself as "Catastor" would be able to tell fact from fiction. Coming from Aurora, it was nearly impossible. After all, the best fictional stories always have a grain of truth to them.
Looking down at her folded hands, Aura replied in a casual tone. "I have my reasons for being here." It was the truth, or rather half of it was true but no one needed to know why she was here exactly. Its not like she was a wanted criminal or anything but then again with the cops aware that she was in this particular city things didn't seem too good. It was enough to make anyone normal be suspicious of her. Running a hand through her black and red locks, brushing her bangs out of her face in the process, Aura glanced at Cat before asking a question of her own. "Of all the people you could have possibly brought here, why the stranger you don't know? For all you know I could be some kinda mass murderer...and if I told you about any abilities I may or may not have, it wouldn't be my little secret now would it?"
"I suppose that's true." Cat looked at her thoughtfully. "I'm a pretty good judge of character, even if you are one I'm a better escape artist. I brought you because you looked like you could use some help, and I wanted to talk to someone. No real big secret reason."
Cat finished her drink and set her cut down the table pulling out some money. She could tell this girl didn't want to talk, not that she blamed her. "I can take you to the other side of town, it should be clear over there if you want. If not wait a little while longer the panic should calm down."
Aura thought about whether or not she actually wanted to leave just yet. With the slightest trace of caution, she looked over her shoulder out the window and a breath escaped her in a small sigh. It was quiet. That much was noticeable. Looking back at Cat, Aura shook her head when the other had been about to pay. "At least let me handle that. We can call it even." As Aura was about to take out her own money, the sound of a door slamming outside and a car alarm going of could be heard. Though it was muffled for most, it could be heard loud and clear for anyone with heightened senses. Just the fact the sound seemed to come from the other side of the window that she had just looked out of was enough to make Aura jump out of shock. In a mix of shock, a hint of fear, and just plain instinct, Aura vanished in what seemed like thin air leaving nothing behind but a trace of mist that disappeared only seconds later. She reappeared a moment later standing in front of the lady at the cash register, handing the woman a ten dollar bill.
"Keep the change." was the only thing Aura said to the lady before bolting out of the place. Of course now she'd be terrified. People had seen her and the fact she could do whatever that was called. Last time she did that in a city she'd also been scared at the worst possible moment. So far the occurrences between when her crazy disappearing trick were far and wide between as well as uncontrollable. It was only logical for a flighty teenager to escape a doomed situation like the one she was presently in. It had only been a car alarm this time but who knew exactly what would happen next time. But that wasn't exactly what worried her the most. She'd been spending so much time avoiding people with powers because they had a bad habit of either going offensive or trying to catch her for the cops and this time was no different except for the fact she'd actually let her guard down. As she ran as fast as she could away from the little shop, she muttered a single word under her breath.
Anne stared a minute as she watch Aura dissolve and reappear before taking off. Well that explained a great amount. It seemed she didn't have total control over her powers and was on the run. "Awe hell." She took off out the door before teleporting after her. She jumped a few times before tackling her. "Hold still,"
She teleported them to a spot only she could get to before the girl could dissolve again. "Sorry for kidnapping you, but I needed to talk to you. I'm going to give you my real name, because this is serious and I want to give you a show of trust. My name is Annette Cole Kazu. You have a problem with your powers, I can help you if you want. Answer me this before telling me to fuck off, are your powers why you keep moving around?"
Aura knew she'd been tackled when it felt like she'd been hit by a speeding car. She knew she'd been teleported when she couldn't breathe for that split second after. Even worse, she knew it was the person she'd just been talking to a couple minutes beforehand. It was always the supers who came after her. Always. Good or bad, it didn't seem to matter to anyone anymore. Glaring at Catastor, her current kidnapper, Aura didn't know what to say. Wait, correction. She knew exactly what she wanted to say but it was best not to piss off the one who kidnapped you. She waited until Catastor was done with her little speech and looked away. There were plenty of reasons Aura had kept moving around but none of them were any of Anne's business. Being the sarcastic little pain in the ass that she was, Aura replied rather calmly, "You're probably just going crazy thanks to all your teleporting and left half your brain somewhere. Either that or you're just blind. I don't have powers. I'm just a runaway. My reasons aren't something to be shared either."
Cat frowned watching the girl; kidnapping wasn't the best idea in the world but it was the only way to talk to her. "You're pissed and rightly so, but listen. to. me. I saw you when you evaporated, so don't try denying it."
The teleporter sighed taking a seat on the ground. Cat had found this place by total accident. It was an old basement of an abandoned hospital, like the psych ward. The Door didn't work anymore, but it wasn't a problem. She had figured it would be a good idea to have a place she could drag people to talk to them. It wasn't a nice place; white concrete walls and floor, and rusted steel door. I wasn't nice but it was clean and secure. "You're right your reasons aren't any of my business, I just asked you because I wanted you to know that powers aren't a problem, your in Jump for Karmi's sake, the biggest population of capes in the country lives here. I offered you my name as sign of trust. So give me a little trust. I'm not going to turn you over to the police, that was my collateral for you."
"I want to help you. You're control is going to get worse as you get older, and it needs to be fixed. I want to do this, one Cape to another. I hate seeing wasted talent. I don't care if you do become a hero or never use your powers again. This is something you can't ignore and it needs to be fixed."
She was careful not to interrupt Catastor during the whole little speech even though she was tempted just call it a load of bull even though the words themselves were encouraging. Waiting for the lecture to end, Aura stood up and brushed herself off. She didn't like being lectured and it was beginning to get on her nerves that someone she had just met was trying to 'help'. It wasn't normal for people to help the reject and to be honest, it was a little annoying. And weird. "Done yet?" It was an innocent question accompanied by a bright little smile that lasted for but a moment before her eyes scanned the room. Clearly she could see there was no way out but Aura was still thinking. There was something oddly calculating in her calm expression as she scanned the room just as there was that barely noticeable hint of falseness in that smile.
Shaking her head as if dispersing a random thought, Aura looked back to Catastor. Her tone carrying no hint of anger or malice in it when she spoke. "I don't exactly appreciate someone acting like they know what I'm going through and I highly doubt you could help me even if you actually wanted to. I'm glad you trust me with your name but I can say this much, if you hand me to the cops I'll gladly tell them who you are as well. I think that's a fair trade, what about you?" She regarded the girl who'd revealed herself as Anne and ran a hand through her long, dark hair, wearing a slightly arrogant little smirk.
Cat's face went to one of frustration, to one of anger then calm. "That exactly why I gave it to you, so you would know I wasn't going to turn you over." She poked Aura in the forehead, "Stupid."
"I don't know the personal stuff but the thing with the powers yeah I understand. The longer your left untrained the worse off your going to be, and if you try to suppress them same problem." Anne sighed rubbed her head. She could feel her tempter rising, she was still wanted to try and get through to her calmly. She was putting a lot on the line telling her, her name. "What is your problem, why won't you let me help you?"
"I don't need or want your help. Don't you get it? I have things to do and people to find. Don't you have an friends you can harass instead of someone you barely know?" Annoyed, Aura crossed her arms across her chest and fixed Cat with a look that could easily be defined with the phrase 'if looks could kill'. It wasn't exactly the thought of help that she was opposed to, it was the thought of getting help from a complete and total stranger. That and the fact that it was mostly her pride talking. Ever since she had left home, she'd been alone and done things alone. No one helped her, so why would now be any different. So she found out recently that she's not exactly normal but thanks to a letter she'd stolen from her mom, neither was the person she had set out to find. So far the only thing getting in the way of her and finding the person she was looking for happened to be the teleporter in front of her.
Anne was ticked, why couldn't this girl see reason? She needed help and she was offering to help her. Then tried to threaten her. The glare was good, if she hadn't ran with the Yukza for a while it might have been scary. "So terrifying."
She rolled her eyes, before raising and eyebrow, she was looking for someone, she could use that maybe. "You're looking for someone. Let's see if can make a trade then. You let me help you with your powers I'll talk to my friends. And yes you do need help. If you didn't then you could just walk out of this room right now."
Aura glanced at the door, sealed with rust and knew it wouldn't move even if she tried. Thinking fast, her gaze flickered back to Cat. "And what makes you think I can't just walk out?" Though her reply was calm, a subtle stroke of fear colored her words. She was trapped and she knew it. Silently, Aura cursed the fact that someone had set off a car alarm at the coffee shop and the fact she hadn't been fast enough to get away. She took a step back and felt the wall just behind her. It was solid and confirmed her fear. This wasn't a bad dream. Or a nightmare. It was real.
Cat smirked a little, "You would have already, if you could." The older girl stood up stretched, a frown formed on her face, she could see the nerves on her face. Awe dang it. "Relax stupid, I'm not going to do anything to you." She didn't like scaring her, but right now she was really agitated, Aura was being stubborn. "Let me help you. You have a resoniblity to everyone else to learn to use your powers. The more out of control they get the worse off. It's going to drive you crazy, if you don't fix it, you know that right?"
With the wall to her back and Cat before her, Aura knew there was no way out. Sure, Cat told her to calm down but everything else she said only made it worse. She sank to the ground, pulling her knees to her chest, her expression blank. "Does it matter? I'm already trapped in a psych ward..." Her voice was flat, emotionless. It was different than what Cat had seen so far from her but at the same time it was Aura's way of trying to shut her out. If only this was a nightmare, she'd have waken up already but no. This wasn't a nightmare. It was Hell. She barely let her eyes flicker to Cat before closing them. Honestly she didn't want help but sooner or later Aura would need it. Her eyes stayed closed as she ran through the events of the day through her mind, thinking over what could have been done differently. It seemed she'd already dug her own grave and was slowly sinking in it. Why not see what the teleporter had to offer. "Fine..." Her response was barely audible but she said it anyway. There was no turning back.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
