Lisa had gotten an awesome Christmas present. It was currently running amok on the docks of Jump city. She, on the other hand, was flying cradled in the Angel's arms towards the Titan tower. Her suit was different from the one she wore as Puppeteer. It was white with oblique teal stripes on the left part of her chest.
Which reminded her, she needed to figure out a hero name. And not forget her backstory.
The slender angel puppet landed on the roof top of the T tower with outstretched wings. Then the wings folded behind its metallic body, and its arms stretched forward to reveal little Lisa. The girl stood up from her sitting position before grouping her hands together as a megaphone and yelling, "Is someone there? I need help ASAP!" She waited a moment, the cold air rushing past her, making the little shape shiver. Her hands quickly hugged the body. She'd have to remember this for her next outing. This hero suit needed to be warmer than the one she wore inside her Golem.
Jumping from one oversized hand to the other, Lisa then made Angel shield her from the wind with its free left hand. "Thank you. Such a gentleman." Her mind wasn,t quite used to the Angel yet. Its movements weren't as natural, or fluid, as the Golem's. Sometimes, her other puppet seemed to move of its own accord. The Angel didn't only follower her most direct flow of thoughts.
A steaming portion of partially-chewed pork fell from the off-duty Titan's teeth, his jaw gone slack at the Tower's current guest's landing. The guest itself was pretty distracting, when you were just a guy munching an Italian smokie, without a concurrent care in the world.
As the strange, aerial, definitelynotabird behemoth revealed another surprise (on top of its existing in the first place), things began to make more sense.
It was just the giant robot kid! And it sounded like she needed some help.
Knowing her propensity for power though, and knowing (or thinking he knew) who he was dealing with, the East archer was certain her request was borderline trivial up to just plain childish, at best. She seemed like a sweet kid the last time he'd run into her, and his guard was completely down after the Angel contraption's great reveal of its pilot.
"Lemme guess, it's The Liddle Lisa Show, and...you're..cosplaying. Where's the Con' this season? You and the bigguy look great; Iunno what costume pointers you even need from Titans..."
Munchmunchmunch resumation. Straightening of a floppy Santa cap, tugging at a matching scarf with a festive winterwear insulated armsock.
Of course it had to be Speedy showing up first. Keep calm. You don't know him. Your evil twin sister met Speedy, not you."I'm not little!" Lisa exclaimed. How did the Titan know her name? Not that it mattered. Steph was the evil twin sister. Lisa Smith was the good girl. Keep your story straight."And I don't need help for a con. I need help with my twin sister!" Costume pointers? Lisa mentally listed the Titan's uniforms. From Raven to Beast Boy, she wasn't sure costumes were exactly their strong point.
Little excited hands started flying in the air. "You see, my sister and I both are telekinetics." Lisa was speaking really fast. Partly because she was supposed to be in a hurry to stop her Golem, but also because it was easier to shoot lies in quick succession. "I control the Angel and she has the Golem. Lately she's gone crazy and started doing evil villain things. She's at the dock right now and I can't stop her." More gesticulations, pointing and waving of hands. "So I need help because the Angel is faster but the Golem is stronger and I can't beat fiftytonsofmetalbymyself" At the end of the sentence, Lisa took a deep breath.
"So, are you Titans going to help me or not?" Lisa was tapping her foot impatiently against the metal hand underneath her at this point.[/i]
As the East Titan listened more carefully to the little girl's explanation and purpose, his expression became more and more grave. "So, you had twin sister, huh...? This prolly doesn't surprise you, but she didn't mention you. I'll guess again; mutual embarrassment over opposite hobbies, non?"
Speedy sent out an alert right away T.Comm.wise, knowing a few of the available Titans were out on missions, training with newer members on the field, or even indulging in some much needed rest downstairs.
Something about evil twin conspiracies sounded like it would get them jumping right to it; they'd seen the damage to reputation and worse that could result from letting matters like this sit long.
"The others are on their way! You can explain more while we move. One more question though..."
Then he leaned in close, eyes narrowed behind the domino ask as though he were about to ask if she was for real, blow her whole cover apart. However...
"...do I get to ride shotgun or shoulder?" ...he was totally hooked.
How could he refuse a cute girl's pushy order request?
"Well, she still thinks I'm on the East coast." Lisa was running out of prepared lies and had to run on improvisation at this point. Maybe she hadn't thought this one through. Speedy seemed to accept the bait nevertheless. He announced the others were on their way and that it was time to go. The Angel spread its wings again and lifted its feet from the roof. Lisa was still cradled in its palm, her own hand cramping against the oversized finger as Speedy mentioned more explanation. "I can't..." tell him too much. She had a secret identity to uphold. He would understand that right?
Lisa's hand relaxed when the question turned out to be relatively innocent. "Just hop onto the shoulder." Puppeteer had to yell the words as the Angel plunged a couple of feet from the tower roof. The metallic structure was now hovering just a quick downward jump for Speedy. "And what do you need to know that doesn't involve revealing my identity?" She asked matter-of-factly. She didn't want to sound too defensive, after all.
As the trio flew across Jump city, she carefully outlined her story. "We were supposed to keep training before our launch as superheroines." Her excuse for why they never had heard of the two before. And in some sense, it was true: Lisa had spent the last ten years training... to become a super-villain. "But she decided to do her own thing a few months ago." Hopefully she could keep her act straight. Lisa also had no wish to meet Robin, who from Kaie's description was likely to pester her with more annoying questions.
The elated archer dusted his fingers off with a few quick slaps against his other palm, making the downward hop all in the same motion, smile never leaving his face. He was gonna fly! As they left the boy's crumbs in their wake, he called back loudly over the Angel's diving velocity, admiring the rapidly changing scenery. Well. Admiring the fluidity with which they were passing over the large body of fluid that surrounded his Tower-home.
"I'm sure you'll be more than happy to provide me with the Just-Enoughs!" He was right. In a few more moments, he more or less got the gist of what was going on. This villainous twin of Lisa-the-Real's was using whatever training she'd learned with her sister to wreak havo--nah, to mess around at the docks. The archer knew not to take the Golem's power lightly, but he could think of more than a few ways to waylay the destructive path of a gigantic metallic robot at a waterfront, and from safe distances, too.
Rather than taking EvilTwin lightly, he'd take her as Heavily as possible in this situation, or so he geared himself up for as they reached their destination below. He counted his electricity-based arrows in his quiver quickly as they landed.
"Well, let's see first if she'llisten to reason, eh? It may not be too late if you'd both been training for the forces've good. You're both young and impressionable~"
Hopping down from his shoulder-perch and grabbing a swig of a waterbottle he'd taken along for the ride, he offered his free hand up to the young double-agent-of-sorts, positing that they scope out the area on foot for the likely loud and clumsy 'bot and it's path of destruction before announcing their presence all at once in an equally giant angel-shaped flight apparatus.
The angel arrived within minutes at the dock. The looming figure levitated a few moments over the scene of destruction. A few yards down, A fake Golem was busy punching holes into cargo containers. It was a fake, an imitation, a robot that tried to emulate Lisa and her puppet's abilities. But motors could never reach the same strength as her own Golem's punches. The robot Golem just waltzed around, destroying crates and upturning things left and right, as if searching for something. Sighing, Lisa gave a solid stomp on her Angel before yelling to the mecha, "I've got the Titans behind me." She pointed at Speedy. "And the Golem is going to get trashed today!" And with that, the winged mecha flew down to a rooftop. As Lisa hopped down, she whispered to Speedy, "No need to mention the fact that we're only two." Of course, the little villain already knew that they didn't need back up: after a few exchanges, the fake Golem would jump into the sea and disappear. Lisa didn't want to risk it's robot nature -and her subterfuge- to be revealed.
"And who knows." Lisa wasn't known to listen to reason. She hadn't trained for good. "We are kinda impressionable. That's probably why she switched sides." Why had she not trained for good? Daddy didn't think it was a worthwhile profession. Would things have been different otherwise? I probably wouldn't have my puppets otherwise."Our puppets are kinda expensive toys." They needed maintenance. Maybe she could outsource these costs on the titans... at least for her Angel. "So she probably is getting paid for her misdeeds." After dropping off the archer, Lisa went back to levitating close to her Angel. "What's the line of attack?" The Golem was still punching away, pretty much ignoring the two 'heroes'. "I can probably provide a distraction."
"My lips are sealed." the archer replied, with a conspiratorial wink. Really, whether his friends showed up or not to take on Superobot o'er yonder, he was always confident he could be his whole squad if absolutely necessary.
However.. ..something was off.
"Your sister doesn't seem the type to blow off a challenge from a potential threat." a distracted Speedy murmured at the good-twin, in a wary tone, his previous nonchalant humour dampened by how little attention he was getting from his ol' pal Lisa the Golem and pilot were paying them after so brash and loud a greeting.
"To her fun, thaddiz. She likely doesn'see either of us as any real one."
Most villains, baddies and general ne'er-do-wells were pretty adamant about switching their line of attack from their current target to any super what crossed their path, thus making them cross. Speedy knew that she knew his penchant for small, cute beings.
And that he'd taken it pretty easy on her after thinking he'd electrocuted her to death and all.
No, instead, he was being asked their line of attack, while tonnes of metal ignored the "heroes"-both.
“Of course you two are~. So let’s go make an impression on your brattier-half.”
He explained their strategy, how he'd save his StunArrows for absolutely the last resort, and would begin with a particularly-placed set of NetArrows at the 'bot's feet. The Angel could then swoop around as Speedy served as the distraction, and down their opponent with a bit of hovering after latching onto the free ends of the nets. Surely, neither were big enough to completely encase the Golem on their own, but two would have enough tensile strength to serve as an annoying tripwire-trap.
"If you take an airborne dive from the other side, you can trip up Optimus Crime. Once downed, it'll hopefully get our liddle pilot to come out in the open. I hope she's got enough shock absorption in there..falling hurts."
After his first shot, he froze, with the loaded second NetArrow taut against the bowstring, and gave her a sheepish grin.
"Where're my manners, though? I've asked for all butchyer name, liddle Miss. I can't very well call ya Not-Lisa, mm'I right? Unless..she was using your name all along..?"
It still wasn't clear (at least to her) how the Titan knew her "twin's" name. That would be a story for another time.
For now, candid conversation helped him shake off the feeling something wasn't quite right about all this. Speedy loved running his mouth almost as much as running crime into the ground.
He shot the second Net, raced towards their opponent, and waited for Lisa-or-Not-Lisa to go to town.
The golem finally turned around to face the heroes. "There it goes!" Lisa launched into the air, wings stretched out wide. It felt weirdfighting her own puppet. It's just a lighter replica though. And if anything, it gave Lisa some insight on how Speedy saw the little super-villain. Brattier, heh?
As instructed, the Angel dived from the other side. The Golem turned to keep both of his targets in his field of vision. As Lisa got close enough, she was able to give the robot a telekinetic push. But not before the metallic man was able to aim a punch at the Angel. Lisa felt the imbalance in her puppet's posture. She tried to rectify it, using the giant wings to support her telekinetic grip on the Angel. In the mean time, Speedy's arrow hit its mark, extending a net around the Golem's feet. This lighter version immediately tripped over, lacking the mass to tear the tripwire apart.
We can't finish this too fast. He was not supposed to figure out the Golem was empty. But then the Titan distracted Lisa with a question. "Call me Puppeteer." Technically not a lie, and she didn't think anyone knew Lisa's codename. "And this is my puppet, the Angel." She lifted into the sky again to showcase her toy's grand metal wings.
The second net was shot at the Golem, completely entangling his limbs. Lisa faked a grin. "Well, that was easier than expected." It wasn't optimal, but the scientists had fitted the fake golem with a little capsule for her. She just needed to get close enough to say the trigger word. "Time to grab you, Lisa." How did the Titan know her name? It was ratehr troubling. As she pondered over the question, the Angel descended towards the struggling Golem. "I'm sure both me and the Titans will share a lot of questions about recent incidents." Puppeteer said vaguely, trying to buy some time. "What do you think, Mr. Speedy?"
It was prety bad for the fake golem to get caught. A careful analysis would reveal that his insides were made of motors, unlike the one Speeday and Raven had trashed earlier this month. That one, the real Golem, was just solid blocks of metal, lifted purely by the power of her mind. But they aren't going to see the cockpit. Was she close enough? Lisa didn't want to risk having to say the trigger word twice. She floated into her Angel's plam, which pushed her closer to the fallen Golem.
"No more pecan pie for you." That was actually Lisa's favorite dessert. With that trigger word, the fake cockpit would launch an escape procedure in thirty seconds. Lisa just eeded to buy that much time before the capsule-cockpit launched into the air and fell somewhere far into the ocean. Hopefully the Titans would not question the absence of person with that little stunt. "What kind of dessert do they serve at Belle Reve, Speedy?"
For whatever reason, the archer did not in fact know Lisa as Puppeteer. Her 'twin' here took up the mantle and took to the air, as the ginger grinned back, their target incapacitated at last all at once. That really was a lot easier than their first encounter.
"Ooo, last I checked I wasn't nearly s'old as yer old man, Poppet." If he was gonna be 'Mr.', she'd get a title, too.
"We're all friends here~. Speedy's just fine." Somehow he seemed to be including a probably, so he thought, highly annoyed Little Lisa into the friendship mix which was completely out of the question.
As for Puppeteer here, It wasn't like her new nickname was going to change even after she stopped with the formalities, though. Speedy didn't really do formalities once he got a grip on a nickname angle.
"I know I've got a few! Let's trade once this is all over, for sure." After having rushed forward, he'd found himself hopping back to narrowly avoid being crushed by the easily tripped Golem. The Angel swooped down for the kill kin to chastise her kin face-to-face, but that little spitfire was showing curious pause, restraint. Did Lisa have no intention of surrendering yet?
After contemplating this however, Speedy's furrowed brow relaxed loftily, unable to keep the smile off his face at the pie comment from his new acquaintance. "She partial to the stuff? I'll keep that in mind~." Soonafter, he was trying not to bust a gut before the laughter bust out audibly.
Did she really just set that one up for him? "Whyyyy just desserts of course, Poppet!!"
Wiping a tear of mirth that had successfully slipped through his domino mask, completely distracted from his misgivings about Lisa's apparent silence, and as the clock ticked down to T-10 seconds, the archer made an addendum.
"Hahah. Iii like you. Though on my last undercover mission there, a Pecan Priedays initiative was in the works to reqard good behaviour. She shouldn't be in there long for destruction of public property. Just in case she isn't a fan of the prison kitchen baking methods."
At T-20 seconds, though, the archer's curiousity got the best of him.
"Actually, why don't we ask Lisa's opinion on all this pie-talk? Among other things, to be sure."
At T-22, he was climbing the downed robot, knocking on the cockpit.
"Everything cool in there, Liddle Lisa? C'mon, don't be like this. Let's chat a spell. For one thing, you've got a twin sister? And what was tonight's temper tantrum all about..?" Possibly on course to becoming a fire-red projecTitan.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
