“The Teen Titans shouldn't be allowed to go to our school!” it was a loud proclamation, mirroring fliers that had been taped all over the school. Tensions between the citizens and the Titans had been high ever since Starfire had gone crazy and killed a bunch of people. They were really high at the school, whether that had to do with the age of the kids going there (teenage hormones could be extreme) or whether it was the constant contact with what were basically super-hero celebrities. The Titans were very much real people when it was remembered they had to do the exact same math homework as the rest of them.
“MURDERERS!” a group had gathered around Rose in the quad, the white haired girl in her school uniform hopped up on a picnic table, waving one of the fliers that dotted the campus. On the flier was a crudely drawn image of the Titans that had been crossed out. It contained a lot of hateful remarks mostly revolving around the formerly beloved alien princess. Starfire hadn't shown up to school since her murderous rampage, but that wasn't the point. If Starfire had been here, how many other Titans came here? Anyone could be Robin, or Speedy, or Bumblebee, or any of them.
They had the technology. They could do whatever they wanted.
“We're not safe in the same school as them! What if she just decides to murder us in Social Studies?” the little Wilson asked her followers. “Anyone could be a Titan. They conceal their identities like they're hiding something. And they are! The Titans killed my brother. What's to stop them from killing you? We need to flush them out and exterminate them before they sell us out to their alien overlords!” The attention she was drawing was steadily increasing. She smiled. People were finally listening to her. Rose Wilson had always been fairly vocal about the evils of the Titans, even when it wasn't a terribly popular topic at her highschool. It had seemed like her opinions would continue to be ignored, until one Titan just happened to make her New Years resolution to make everyone hate her.
“DOWN WITH THE TITANS!”
“MURDERERS!”
“THAT BITCH KILLED MY UNCLE WHEN SHE KNOCKED IN BUILDINGS!”
“ALIENS GO HOME!”
“MY MOM'S IN A COMA THANKS TO THEM!”
“TAKE THE ALIEN FUCKING TITANS WITH YOU!”
It was beautiful.
