"I try." he said with a smile. Judging by the blush, he seemed to be having some effect on her. It was adorable to watch. Blushing, hair twirling, trying and failing to keep her cool. He stood up, stretching out a bit. Sitting below her was getting awkward anyway. Hellsmith looked down at Maggie, smiling and putting a hand on her shoulder. "I guess you have that effect on people."
He couldn't help laughing at her question. It was obviously one of those awkward things to try to drag out the conversation, but it was just so out of place that it was kind of hilarious. "I don't really have a schedule, I just go around and do my own thing. Might find some more excuses to come here if it means meeting you, though." It occurred to him that this was a beach, and people came here to swim sometimes. Swimming meant swimsuits. Swimsuit plus Maggie, he rather liked that idea. "Maybe we could go for a swim sometime."
Maggie couldn't stop herself from smiling, and couldn't stop herself from thinking of what she would tell Kaie. Guess who met a super cute guy at the beach? Me! Hes super cute, super sweet, and has super strength. Looks like you don't need to try to set me up with any of your teammates, Maggie thought, picturing the two of them gigglying and talking about Beast boy and Brock.
Maggie was dragged out of her thoughts by the sight of Brock suddenly standing up and stretching, going back to looking up at him. Fudge he is tall, Maggie thought, her blush deepening as he smiled down at her and put a hand on her shoulder. Don't squeal, don't squeal, don't squeal! Marguerite Blythe, don't you dare squeal! She thought sternly to herself as she bit her bottom lip to keep herself from squealing. That was soo sweet!
"I doubt that my effect on people is greater than yours," Maggie said, mentally applauding herself for saying something somewhat witty. Naturally, when she looks back at what she said Maggie is sure to facepalm and wonder what possessed her to say such a silly thing. Right at the present moment, however, she thought it was clever and thats that.
When Brock stated that he didn't really follow any schedule but said that he might find some excuses to come to beach if it meant meeting her got the biggest grin to appear on her face. "Well I do have a busy schedule, but I think I can make some room for you," Maggie said cheerfully, enjoying the idea of spending more time with him. Perhaps she could even bring some food next time so they could have a picnic on the beach. "A swim? Sure, that sounds mighty fine," Maggie said, daring not to think too much of it.
Oopsies, too late. She was already picturing him in swim trunks and it caused her blush, which had started to fade, to renew.
Maggie sure was blush-prone. Not that Hellsmith was complaining, it was a cute habit. She seemed to like the hand on her shoulder, too. He could see she was barely containing herself. The poor girl had to bite her lip just to hold herself back. He was more than a little curious what she would do if she stopped bottling up like that. That thought alone would be enough to keep him interested for quite a while.
He couldn't help smiling at the compliment. Sure, it was corny, but it was nice too. "Thanks." It was nice that she seemed to be returning his interest more now. He would have to meet up with her more often, this Maggie seemed like a cool girl to hang out with. Or something.
Maggie turned red again at the idea of swimming. Was her mind going to the same place his was? He smiled, standing beside her and putting an arm around her shoulders. He looked down at Maggie, trying to maintain eye contact. "Same time and place tomorrow?" She had said her schedule was busy, but maybe she could clear out some room for him. He was pretty sure she could find some time to ogle him in a swimsuit. He would be sure to return the favor.
"You're welcome." Maggie said sweetly, thankful that he had thought her comment witty or charming. Either way, it had worked for her! Maggie watched as he smiled down at her and put an arm around her shoulders, once more fighting against a squeal as she bit her lip.
Well, it was a squeal mixed with laughter, for she was sure that they must of been a odd sight at that moment. With him being so tall yet to have an arm around her shoulders even though she was what, a foot smaller than him? Give or take a few inches, but at least a foot for sure. Course, that humorous picture went flying when Brock made eye contact with her.
"Hm? Oh, perhaps," Maggie said in her teasing tone, even though she knew that she would be there and was pretty sure that he knew it too. Maggie looked away, down at the water as the waves rushed upon the sand and over her feet. She was going to make sure that she remembered this spot exactly.
She glanced up at Brock then back at the water, the gears in her head at work as that impish smile once more appeared as she moved a little bit away from him and into the water. "Of course, I will have to think about it, especially after doing THIS!" Maggie said as she cupped sea water in her hands and threw it at Brock, laughter escaping from her as she actually started to run while taking off her denim jacket and throwing it onto the sandy shore.
It was difficult to run when you have denim jackets on, and Maggie needed all the help she could get in the running department.
Maggie seemed to be having a lot of trouble keeping herself under control. Hellsmith was surprised he was having that much of an effect, the girl seemed one unbitten lip away from dissolving into a squealing mess. This really wasn't helping his inflated ego problem. If anything, it was making it worse. Maggie was pretending she was unsure whether she was coming back, but he could see right through it.
He waited a moment when she stepped away into the water before strolling after her. Hellsmith was trying to seem as casual as possible here, but it kind of broke his calm attitude when he got splashed in the face. Hellsmith sputtered for a second before moving to retaliate, but Maggie was already off like a shot. He reached down to scoop up some water of his own and gave chase. "Oh I'll get you for that!" he said playfully.
Hellsmith was starting to gain on her when he realized he had spilled his whole payload during the chase. He scooped up another handful and just splashed it at her, hoping for the best. "Think fast!"
Maggie was laughing as she ran, looking over her shoulder as she ran. He was gaining on her with ease, saying playfully that he was going to get her for that. "Yeah right!" She yelled back playfully, running as fast as she could.
Maggie felt the water splash against her back and squealed, laughing as she once more looked back at Brock when she should of been looking forward. One of her feet dug too deeply into the sand and down she went, landing face first in the water.
Maggie quickly pushed herself up, gasping for breath as she blinked, trying to get sand and salt water out of her eyes. Wow, you must look soooo attractive now, Maggie thought to herself as she got up. "I'm okay," She stated as she stood, mostly to herself but also Brocks benefit as she looked down at herself, mentally cursing at herself for getting her dress all sandy and wet, doing her best to wring out the skirt of her dress to keep it from clinging to her legs. "That didn't go quite as expected," Maggie admitted, brushing off the wet sand that was sticking to her and her dress.
Super strength could be a pain sometimes. Hellsmith splashed Maggie's back, and within a few seconds she had faceplanted. He was sure he had something to do with this. It was probably some sort of delayed-effect super throw. He was pretty sure that was a thing that was real. He hurried to Maggie's side, helping to her feet. She seemed all right, just a little sandy and wet.
And in a soaked, clingy dress. Now it was Hellsmith's turn to go a little pink. He tried to play it cool, trying and failing to suppress the blush. "Sorry about that." Hellsmith reached out, trying to carefully wipe some of the sand off her face.
He took her hand, leading her back to shore and towards where he'd seen her towel. She'd probably need to dry out for a bit. "You sure you're okay?" He asked, sitting next to the towel.
"Why? It wasn't your fault. I tripped, thats all," Maggie said as she looked up at him and noticing a blush on his face. Thats a first, Maggie noted, at first wondering what had caused it. Was he blushing cause she had fallen? No that couldn't be it, and it couldn't be how she looked, covered in sand and wearing a damp-
Oh. Ooooh.
Maggie had to fight the almost smug smile that appeared on her face as Brock carefully wiped some sand off of her face. Well this is going better than I expected Maggie thought as he took her hand and led her back towards her thing, feeling the blush returning to her face as she sat down, spreading the skirt of her dress out a bit to let it dry out a bit more.
"I promise that i'm okay. Nothing a shower and doing some laundry won't help," Maggie said simply, leaning back ever so slightly to allow herself to get more sun and dry off more. "I should of been paying attention to where I was runnin and whatnot," Maggie stated, shrugging her shoulders as she looked up at him.
Well, that was a relief. She had just tripped. And here he was thinking he had knocked her down. That would have been a pretty bad way to start things off, asking her out then immediately knocking her on her face. He was just glad that she seemed unharmed. Knocking oneself out didn't exactly set a romantic mood.
Maggie sat down next to him, mirroring his blush. It seemed that the hand-holding was having the intended effect. He stretched out on the sand next to her, trying to check her out as subtly as he could. She seemed to be making herself comfortable, drying out in the sun. He could afford to stay a while here. He hadn't brought sunscreen, but sunburn wasn't a problem. There was really only one way he turned red and it had nothing to do with the sun.
Well, that wasn't entirely true. The mention of Maggie showering did make him a little redder. He tried to play it cool, thinking of other things. "Well, glad you're okay then." he said, trying to relax. Nothing to see here, just a demon boy hanging out with a cute girl. Not thinking any bad thoughts nope. "So what's the plan now?"
Maggie couldn't help but smile at his blush, watching Brock from the corner of her eyes. Hes checking you out. He is soo checking you out, Maggie thought as she did the same thing, doing it as subtly as she could. However, it wasn't as subtly ass it should of been and Maggie kept on looking away and blushing.
It was relaxing, just laying here on the beach next to Brock, feeling the suns rays dry her dress. Ill have to wash it twice to make sure I get the beach smell out of it, Maggie thought, grinning slightly as she watched Brock turn red. Someones got a weakness.. Maggie mused, glad to have this information. It could prove useful in the future.
"Yeah, me too." Maggie said, relaxing as she closed her eyes and looked skyward, letting the early sunlight warm her face. Of course, when he asked what the plan was now, Maggie opened her eyes and looked at him, frowning slightly. "Not sure. I mean, do you still want to meet tomorrow?"
Hellsmith grinned, giving her a wink. She was totally checking him out. It was nice, knowing the feeling was mutual. He stretched out, letting her get more of a view. He would have to get a good swimsuit for tomorrow, something to show off in. Maggie had a sweet tooth and he was gonna bring her some eye candy.
"Hm? Oh, of course! Same time, same place. I'll make sure to bring a swimsuit." He gave her a wink. Apparently he had given the wrong message with that question. He was mentally kicking himself for that one. Hellsmith was a bit boneheaded sometimes, and apparently he'd ended up saying the opposite of what he was trying to. "I mean like for today. Wanna hang out more, or you could go and get cleaned up and I can do some more frisbee."
He sat up, cracking his neck. It would be a shame having to part so soon, but there was no point hanging out more if she was just going to be uncomfortable in that wet dress. Dear gods, that wet dress. Okay, not thinking about it now. Clean thoughts, Ambiorix, clean thoughts. "I mean I'm good for whatever you are." he said with a smile.
Oh, he knew she was looking at him. He so knew she was looking at him. Maggie couldn't help but chuckle as he stretched out, giving her more of a view. None of the girls back home are going to believe me when I tell them about him. Hopefully I can introduce him to Kaie, Maggie thought with a smile, looking over at Brock, grinning as he gave her a wink.
"Oh! Um, i'm not sure. I'm perfectly fine, but if i'm distracting you from your frisbees I can go." Maggie said, sitting up as well, pinching the bodice of her dress in a way to let it air out more before letting it snap back. She had interupted his "frisbee" time, and was pretty sure that she was still distracting him. Well, at least her dress was. Yeah, her dress was certainly distracting him all right. "I suppose I should, shouldn't I?" Maggie questioned, looking around to gather her things.
"Nah, you're more interesting than the frisbees anyway." he said with a smile. She really seemed to be warming up to him, and he kept on saying things that sounded like he was trying to blow her off. He really needed to work on that, it was kind of a problem. Hellsmith reminded himself to solve that as soon as possible.
That train of thought was derailed spectacularly as she started fiddling with the bodice of her dress. Hellsmith tried not to make it too obvious that he was checking her out, but that wasn't really possible. It took him a minute to realize she had said something when she got up to gather her things. What had she been talking about again? Oh, right she was leaving.
Wait, what?
Hellsmith stood, trying to play it cool. "You don't have to if you don't want. Whatever you like, really." He stretched out, keeping an eye on her as she gathered her stuff up.
Maggie smiled as he told her that she was more interesting than his frisbees and had quite nearly burst out laughing when she saw him checking her out when she was messing with her bodice. Someones easily distracted Maggie thought, smirking. This was quite an ego boost to her, and Maggie couldn't help but stand a little bit straighter because of it.
"And do what, exactly? Besides, I think you're more than a little distracted due to the current state of my dress," Maggie pointed out as he stood up, her smile turning smug. Busted Maggie thought as he stretched, which distracted her momentarily before she put everything besides her towel and shoes into her bag. She wouldn't put her shoes on until she was off the beach because she wasn't wanting a twisted ankle just because she tried wearing wedges on sand.
Maggie looked up at Brock, frowning slightly as she sized him up. "You're so tall. How tall are you, anyway?" Maggie couldn't help but question.
Hellsmith just grinned, shrugging. "It's more who's in the dress really." A little flattery never hurt, especially in a case like this. Maggie seemed pretty smug about catching him, though he had made it pretty easy for her. Hellsmith was not the most subtle of his kind. Between his impulsive nature and the fact that he was still a teenager, he tended to let things slip like that.
For some reason, his height seemed to put her off. She was frowning a bit as she sized him up, and that concerned him. "Right now? About six foot four, I think." He was about to ask her height but realized that reminding her of the height difference might not be the best thing right now. Good thing he hadn't transformed, if she was concerned about how tall he was now then the extra two feet would probably be a deal-breaker.
"I could walk you back, if you want. Carry some stuff." Hellsmith was doing his best gentleman impression. He had the feeling that it would go a long way with a girl like Maggie. He held out a hand, offering to go with her.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
