Music was playing, a cake was underway, and for once, everything seemed to be going well and a huge favorite in the running for "best christmas and birthday ever". As Dar danced around, he couldn't help but notice the girl was lost in thought, and decided to bring her back to the real world by means of delicious cake batter. Sure enough, that woke her up, and as she tasted... she started crying, excusing herself and leaving. The young thief had no idea how to react to that sudden change, and just stood there as the girl locked herself in the only bathroom of the house, only then managing to mumble a few words.
"It... it wasn't that bad."
Of course, he wasn't the brightest person around, and he didn't exactly have experience comforting crying people, but he wasn't stupid either. The way she had been talking about her parents, and that guy she had mentioned... Harry? Larry? Something like that. Either way, whatever the reason was, it was time for him to make her christmas better. Once again, he had zero experience making people's days better, but he couldn't just let it pass. He walked towards the bathroom, trying to think of what to say, not really worried about how to enter. Sure, she had locked it... but to Dar'Kneevel, no door was ever truly locked. He quickly gathered the needed tools, which didn't amount to more than the usual lockpick and torsion wrench combo. As he was about to put his skills to use, a thought crossed his mind. Was it alright to do that? She had locked herself in, after all, she probably didn't want him or anyone to enter. Doing so, in the end, might actually make everything even worse. He had an habit of doing that, on purpose or otherwise.
After a few seconds of silent arguing, he opted to walk back to the kitchen, coming back with a Dr. Pepper bottle. Unlocking and opening the door just a bit, he slid the bottle in, quickly closing the door, not really seeing anything that was happening inside. Instead, he sat down on the ground, his back against the bathroom door. He quietly fumbled with words for a while, before talking out loud so the girl could hear him from inside.
"Yo, if you ever need to talk, I'm here." He thought a bit before continuing. "Or... just want to, I guess. Or for anything that I can help with that isn't just talking, like... you know." He hoped she did, because at the moment, Dar himself didn't know anything other than he had just probably ruined someone else's christmas day.
