“Yeah yeah, kick me in the face later Batgirl. I'll let you do it.” He smirked to himself and mused, “Well if you can find me, I could probably make you think you kick me...” It was true he didn't want to invade an innocent person's mind, but at the same time an illusion would be better than getting kicked in the face by someone like Batgirl. Penumbra had seen her (very nice) legs and only saw muscle. Raw, face-destroying muscle. It wasn't the time to think about that stuff. Shaking his head he listened at her comment about “him”. Ah, Mr. Wayne, she knew him of course...

“Something like w-” He was interrupted by screeching tires and roaring engines. Someone was on to them and Penumbra decided to panic, “...GREAT.” Running after Batgirl, equipment stowed away in his belt, he yelled to her “Got dropped in by parachute and walked a kilometer to get here, that's probably how they were alerted to our presence... BUT I COULD USE A LIFT.”

Without asking he jumped on behind Batgirl and gently held onto her. His grandfather taught him the finer points of motorized vehicles including how to be a good passenger, “Sorry about this, but I think we should go. Now.”

Holding on for dear life Penumbra cast his “cloak” over the pair, no one would be seeing them with their own eyes...Night vision goggles though...

The motorcycle roared to life beneath her, and she was mildly surprised that Penumbra just jumped on. She had guessed that he didn't have a way back, and would have offered anyways. She made sure his arms were tight around her, glad that it had seemed like he had ridden before. “If you fall off, I'm not stopping.” As she spoke, she gunned it, dirt and rocks spraying out from beneath her back tire before it finally caught, making them lurch forwards. She didn't turn on the headlight for obvious reasons. However, maybe some more protection would have been great.

“At least if they start shooting I have a human shie--” She had spoke too soon as bullets whizzed over their heads. “Hold on!” There was a small red button on her handlebars, one that she was told never to use unless absolutely necessary. Flicking up the protective cover with her thumb, she pressed down on it. There was a second before anything started to happen, and when it did, the Batcycle lurched forwards again, this time propelled not just by a gas-powered engine, but this time with something much more powerful.

She whizzed down the rocky terrace, turning this way and that, trying to lose her tail. Finally, she was able to escape them, but now they had to make it home. She pushed the button again, turning off the extra boost, but kept going. It was quite a ways home.

Penumbra held onto Batgirl for dear life but made sure not to crush her or affect her driving. He quickly replied, “Won't fall off if you just drive” and then she took off in the aforementioned spray of earth. This situation, though not the best, was better than walking, getting shot, or being arrested by some secretive government agency only to be frozen and cloned for secret experiments about superpowers. It's not like that could happen right?

Batgirl's human shield comment made him laugh, but he replied with feigned annoyance “Oh thanks I see where I raaaaaa-” the sudden acceleration cut him off as he held on for dear life, again. The bullets preceding it didn't faze him, it was the driving that was making his heart race and causing him to grin like an idiot behind his mask. He was having the time of his life and didn't want to admit it, even to himself he was thinking, “Women drivers...”

Penumbra relaxed as the bike slowed down and leaned his head forward against Batgirl's back. (You know, where you can hear the person's HEART BEATING?)  Honestly he was to make sure his hat didn't fall off and didn't think of how awkward Batgirl would feel about this. Either way he stayed that way calmly FOR A LONG TIME before asking, “What was that...where are we going?”

Only to be answered by the imposing T shaped tower that was the headquarters of the Teen Titans.

“Oh boy...”
