Ah! Valentine Day! Oh sweet! Sweeeeeettttt! Valentine.

It’s a beautiful-romantic day to celebrate oh-sweet-Valentine-day in Jump City! A beautiful day to honor Saint Valentine! A man publicly beheaded for defying his government by exchanging candies, flowers and chocolates, to nonsensically render the objects of our affection more far and less attractive. A made up celebration by companies, such as Dallmark, whose only intention was to boost up their card sales.

Um, what's with the negative remarks?

Well, it’s a view of a single girl, who was all alone and miserable on Valentine day. She hated how much Valentine keeps reminding her. Slapping her across THE FACE! How she was single and all alone! Without, that special someone (who isn’t blood related) to spend time with.

Sounds like she was kinda desperate, doesn't it?

Well, it does get kinda annoying. When you see couples around the street and everywhere. Showing off the PDA, which stands for Public Display of Affection. Pushing the limits and boundaries of annoyances, to a whole new level. Like, baby talk, cuddling, hugging, kissing, love confession with the length of an essay and all those mushy stuff.

And this gets really old... really-super- fast.

Getting you to the point. That you just wanna punch something, like a villain, in the face. And boy, does she crave some kick-butt action right now? A chance to punch out her frustration and irritation. Yet, sadly. They seem to be missing in action today? The funny thought of villain celebrating Valentine Day too. Helped the least to lighten her moods... a bit.

“ARGH!!”

She thrust her hands up in the air. Ignoring the odd looks. Coming from the onlookers who walks past her. Because today, Kimber Fowl could care less, what anyone thinks? Today, she was gonna sound like a jerk and allow herself to be a Grumpy Cat on Valentine day. Getting up to dump her first empty cup of Frappuccino, before sipping another one in her hands. Another annoying Valentine thread, the two in one deal. Which, she doesn't feel like sharing about it right now.

Walking aimlessly in the mall. Wondering. How was she going to spend her Valentine Day today?

 While some single people may have a problem with all the love-y dove-y stuff, Elodie didn't really mind. Sure, she was single and stuff, but she was too busy for an actual relationship. Too busy with trying to get revenge and to save her siblings. Maybe then she'll be able to focus on normal things, though Elodie highly doubt it. She was too screwed up for dating and then there would be the whole 'Oh, by the way, I can control electricity so you might get accidentally shocked every now a then.' Dating was just something out of the picture with her.

But Elodie enjoyed seeing others enjoy Valentines day. It actually made her a bit happy, seeing them spend time with their loved ones. The hugging and kissing and holding hands - it made Elodie feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Perhaps its because it reminded her of her parents, for it had been one of her parents favorite holidays. They had been utterly devoted to one another, even after 22 years of marriage. And with divorce becoming more and more common, their love had been reassuring to Elodie and her siblings.

Elodie found herself at the mall this holiday of love, shopping for some gifts for her aunt and her siblings. For her aunt some chocolate, while for her siblings some of those really soft and cute plush toys they always sell this year.

She was dressed for the holiday, wearing a white lace dress with a soft pink cardigan. In a sea of obnoxious fuchsias and bright reds, pale pink was a perfect alternative Valentine color. Also, pale pink looked fantastic with her red hair, which was done in pretty curls. She wore a pair of pearl stud earrings and a heart-shaped locket, complete with a pair of brown oxfords with a subtle gold shimmer, and tights. To balance out the frills of her wardrobe, Elodie had pulled out a bold, neutral bag from her closet. She made sure she looked lovely and girly this day, especially since she was going to meet her aunt for dinner at the hospital. Aunt Moria was constantly suggesting to her to wear more feminine things, so this was Elodie's way of making things up and pleasing her aunt. 

Elodie was walking out of a store when some girl yelled in frustration, throwing her hands up in the air. Elodie joined with the many who were giving her weird looks, an eyebrow raised at the girl. Someones taking the holiday badly.

With the mall bustling and busy, no one seemed to notice a quick handed blonde with a guitar case as she bumped into a few people and lifted the wallets from their unguarded pockets. To Charlie, she was doing them all a favor by relieving them of their monetary crutch. It was more romantic if it came from the heart and not the wallet. She bumped into a rather panicked looking man and lifted something from his suit pocket. When she didn’t feel the familiar leather of a wallet Charlie looked in her hand to see a small velvet box. Aw man…

“Hey! Sir!” She called and caught up with the scared looking man. Charlie grabbed his arm, “Sir you dropped this.” He looked at the velvet box in her hand and she saw the confusion flash through his face when he searched his pockets. Then he looked at her with such relief, “Thank you! Oh god, that would have been a disaster!” Charlie smiled at him and gave him a gentle pat on the arm, “Good luck, hope she says yes.” He smiled back and walked off to make the biggest decision of his life. She walked in the opposite direction with a small look of nausea.

After that Charlie felt like she needed something chocolate. This would be her first Valentine’s day completely alone, maybe she should buy a dress and get her face all prettied up. Get a few curls in her short hair, and go out on the town with some friends. Maybe even get a boyfriend! That was always fun, plus she could use some work on her flirting skills.

But first things first. Charlie waltzed into the music store and sung along with the current love song blaring through the speakers. “Cole!” She sung when she reached the counter that had a slightly older gentleman behind it who smile at her. “Please fix my baby!” She carefully set her guitar case on the counter and opened it to reveal an old cherry wood acoustic guitar. A few strings and a couple pegs were missing.

“I won’t ask what happened but this might take a while,” Cole said. Charlie gave an exaggerated sigh, “Fiiiine, just fix my Madison please. I’ll just roam around the mall for a while.” He nodded and she left the stores overpowering tribute to love and romance. Now she was just feeling annoyed by it all and the feeling held until she reached a smoothie vendor and got herself a chocolate supreme while wondering what to do for the time being.

A loud shout of outrage caught her attention mid slurp and she saw a familiar face from school walking her way. Charlie laughed, “Please tell me that was because of all the ooey-gooey couples. Cause if it was I’d have to agree with you. Valentine's day isn't much fun being single.” She said when Kimber was in earshot

Oh, Valentines Day. What a sacred feast day indeed! Most people don't remember things like that, but of course Alphy did. In fact he remembered hearing stories about old Al Capone and the St. Valentines Day Massacre from his grandfather more than the poor saint. At this moment Alphy (who had the sinking suspicion he was named after Capone) felt an urge to pull out a Tommy gun and spray down gangsters was browsing the shelves of a combination bookstore and coffee shop. To Alphonse this was heaven and an armory. Knowledge is the best weapon!

Today he was seeking some plain, light reading and found his fingers pulling a copy of The Last Hurrah from the shelf. Flipping through the pages he found that it would be an excellent way to ignore the various couples drifting to and fro in their lovey-dovey glee. The book was about politics and an aging mayor's last hurrah! Quite boring but it would serve its purpose. As he sat down at a stool in the coffee shop he heard a cry of anguish from someone in the mall. Smirking to himself, he mused, “Guess I'm not the only one suffering through singles awareness day.”

Sipping his triple expresso, freshly made, Alphy continued reading the book. Today was looking to be a boring, peaceful day. No more running around getting beat up while trying to make the world a better place...for the moment.

Valentine's Day, huh? Well, Barbara wasn't going to be going out with some hot guy only to get dumped later, nor was she going to mope around at home with a tub of icecream on the couch, watching The Notebook for the billionth time. It's not like she had high hopes of Robin asking her out on an actual date today. Nope, she was going to curl up next to a fire in a comfy chair and read a book. The only problem was that she had read all of her books, and many of them she had already donated to the bookstore. So, for once she was going to go out in her civvies not undercover as the Batgirl, but as Barbara Gordon, book hoarder. She wasn't going for anything fancy, either, just wearing a pair of nicely fitted jeans and a white T-shirt. The black one was her first choice, but she figured that it was safer staying away from that color during the day.

It's not like anyone would mistake the bespectacled redheaded girl with her hair up in a messy bun for the dark vigilante. Especially when she had a smile on her face. Walking through the mall, she laughed inwardly at the girl who randomly flipped out, most likely because of the lack of a guy with an arm to hang on to. There were a few people running around alone on this 14th of February, most likely buying last-minute Valentine's Day gifts or trying to forget the fact that they were lacking a significant other to spend the day with. Yes, there were many couples walking around, the girl usually leaning heavily on the guy, who usually had a fake smile plastered across his face, wanting to get home and into bed--and not in the traditional sense.

It wasn't a long walk from the entrance to the little corner of heaven. It had two of the best things in the world in one little store; books and coffee. The smell of books, old and new, combined with the heavenly aroma of fresh coffee was the best smell in the world. And it was here in Jump City. The bartender/cashier greeted her as she walked in, canvas messenger bag slung her shoulder, almost completely empty, waiting to be filled by books. "Barbara! Nice to see you again." The blonde girl smiled brightly behind the counter. "Having your usual?" "Yes please, thanks Sam." The girl nodded and had the large cappuccino almost as fast as the time it took for her to walk to the counter. Barbara smiled as she was handed the steaming drink. "How much do I owe you?" She was fishing around in her bag for her wallet when Sam stopped her. "No, no, nothing at all! I owe you more than it seems possible. It's on the house, plus some of the books you're more than likely to take home today. As long as you don't clean me out." The two girls laughed before Barbara thanked her and walked down the closest aisle, looking at the different titles, trying to sort out the ones she had read before and the ones she hadn't.

To be totally honest Anne had forgotten about what a big deal Valentine's Day was to westerners. In Japan the woman gave all their male friends chocolate and depending on the quality it could mean various things. Anne had already given her chocolate to her father and mothers and there wasn't anyone else important in her life that she was willing to get chocolate for and explain her custom to she was free for the rest of the day.

The secret villain had come to find a book and get some coffee, but even her deafness couldn't drown out the gooshyness that was the American Holiday. There were so many hearts and kissing couples. Anne suddenly regretted her plan. Forget coffee she just wanted her book, and go home were everything was peaceful and not full of fluff. Her thoughts of calling Mr Nos about find a job for her were short lived as passed by video game store. 

All thoughts of a book and coffee or even working were lost as she started browsing though the games. Sure you could try to lip read a movie or have subtitles but video games it seemed were designed for her. A small smile crept across her face, the best part was the store was empty and devoid of decorations. Perfect.

Dick stared at the mall map in front of him like a lost man. The lanky teen leaned forward, his eyes scanning the lists of stores over and over again. He didn't really have a destination yet, but this made more sense to his logical little brain then wandering the store come what may. He needed wanted a plan of action. The kid had spent so much time being Robin that he barely remembered what it was like to be Dick Grayson: normal teenager.

He was pretty sure he was past giving Babs a homemade card so covered in glitter that it shed it everywhere. Now he was supposed to do what the other teenage guys did on Valentines day. Now...he just had to figure out what that was. Getting her flowers, or chocolates, or a stuffed bear seemed to border on ridiculous. Especially since he didn't want to draw attention to himself, or their relationship around the team. However...a card seemed cheap.

So here he was. At the mall.

Valentines Day sucked.

In fact, it was giving him a headache. Dick rubbed at his temple, frowning as he stared at the map. The light suddenly felt too bright and he pulled his sunglasses out of his pocket and shoved them onto his face. They helped kill the ache momentarily. Then, the boy doubled in pain as an intense wave almost knocked him off his feet. It felt like his skull was splitting in half, or something was popping out of the middle of his forehead.

Something was.

Larry would choose a public place to manifest. Robin dropped to the ground as a chibi burst forth from his forehead, double checking to make sure his glasses were snug on his face and drawing up the hood of his sweatshirt to try and keep the attention off of himself and instead on the floating gnome dressed like cupid. The Boy Wonder didn't know what the midget with the magic finger had planned but it never seemed to end well for him.

"ROBINNNN!" Larry proclaimed.

Well, there went his cover.

The boy glared up at Larry through the sunglasses, hunched his shoulders, and quickly walked away. Of course, the stupid cupid followed. "Robin wait for me!" he cried in his nasally voice as he floated along behind his hero like a duckling, catching the attention of nearby pedestrians. "Robin! I'm here to help you."

Robin spun around then, narrowing his eyes. "If you want to help, then go. Away."

Larry looked crestfallen for a moment. Then he brightened as though Robin's rejection didn't actually matter. "No! I'm here to help you get your love back!"

The Boy Wonder stared blankly at the midget for a moment. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

This did not deter the reality bender who was looking forward to another lecture on the importance of true love. He even had a demonstration! "You and Starfire belong together! I'm the head of the Starfire and Robin forever fanclub!" the little dork bobbed proudly in midair. He was apparently the head of a lot of creepy fanclubs revolving around the Robin we all knew and loved.

"Look, I don't know what you're planning, but Starfire and I are just friends." the young leader pointed out, sweeping his hands out in a finalized motion.

"But you shouldn't be. You should be madly in love!" Larry said with the vehemence of a man going down with his ship. "I've written Fanfiction about it. You guys should name your first daughter, Mar'i because that's what I named her in the fic."

Robin wasn't so sure how he felt about this information. "Uhhh...."

"But it's okay, Robin! I'm going to fix everything!" the twerp waved the bow he'd been carrying, and pulled a heart tipped arrow out of the quiver on his back that Robin hadn't noticed before. "I borrowed Cupid's arrows. I'll make everything right! You wait and see!" the midget put the arrow to the bow and fired at a girl Dick recognized.

"Elodie watch out!" he cried as the arrow flew in her direction.

He tried to stop Larry before he shot a girl with blonde hair. But then the bow was turned on him. "Stay still!" Larry protested when the Boy Wonder dodged out of the way, loosing arrows into the crowd. "I'm trying to help you! It only hurts a little bit! And then you will be blissfully in love with Starfire like you should be!"

"Not a chance!" Robin called back as he dodged through the crowds. The boy did a flip over a cell phone cart that was in his way, dodging arrows as he went, and receiving odd stares from nearby passerbys. He raced up the down escalator, as it was closest, his legs pumping with the effort as he dodged the surprised people standing as they were carried down. Dick was mere feet from the entrance when something smashed into his back. Surprise and momentum carried him forward, and he stumbled.

And who should he see first but a dead sexy ginger?

This was totally fate.

Chaos.

Roy Harper crouched within it, polishing off a strawberry cone in much a Speedycooby-Doo fashion, the serious look never leaving his face.

Couples breaking up left and right, as their backs, arms, side-of-heads etc. were battered with stray arrows of cartooonish, unbelievable, pink confusion power.

"I'LL PROTECTCHU LADIES."

As the arrows flew everywhichway, a very distracted albeit yes, very 'dead sexy' ginger found himself dodging the aforementioned chaos and ducking behind an overturned duo of Baskin Robbins and sunglasses cart, amidst several spurned or just frightened girls whose guys had turned on them for other women...and in some cases, randomly, other men?

What on earth was going on?

He'd only come to the mall to pick up a fancy enough card in which to write his girlfriend the type of flowery (to some LIKE SILV) gag-worthy) poetry the both of them loved almost as much as they did each other, but with current events, he vowed from now on to always opt for making all parts of his Valentine's Day presents at home.

"I'm gonna turn this Robbins over, " he began ironically using Robin's name in just what he was gonna do TO the guy in a few minutes, in an authoritative and loud voice so the gaggle of girls clinging to him for comfort could hear over the wailing and gnashing of teeth going on all around them.

"And on the count of 3, we're gonna make for the entrance, awright? 3...2....1..GO."

The race began.

Harper, here as himself today in a black V-neck, white, gold-buttoned blazer and darkwash jeans, had just been trying to hold a non-event for himself and Rae. In fact, he hadn't even gelled his hair today, it was going to be so low-key.
Every holiday, he seemed to screw something up majorly, by going overboard.

Today could still be salvaged.

For there was the front door!

"And we're home-free! Don't worry about me; I'm right behind you~."
He grinned.
They weren't looking back at all at the scruffy-headed Speedy-stand-in.

Adorable, these civvies and their total concern for their protectors.

Something told him they'd be a tad more concerned for a ginger in red and yellow tights, but he'd been in a hurry going out the door that afternoon.

A heave of the cart from behind, to aid the girls' escape; he was still a hero, even off-duty in current civvies, and even if he happened to be heavily biased towards the type of rescuees he was helping at this moment in time, it was no doubt his efforts were valiant.

However, his efforts at escaping proved futile, for in the end, HIS end had come.
&&Been struck by an arrow, no less.

Foiled by his own weapon of choice, how tragic!

Rubbing his butt for a second and trying to get bearings involved a lot of blinking and dizzy-stepping towards the exit, albeit backwards.

When Roy's vision cleared, his steps strengthened in the clear opposi'direction of sweet escape, and they took him straight towards this short!, dark, handsome and mysterious stranger in the stunna-shades.

Actually, he knew the 'stranger' pretty well; hadn't they played dress-up to Barb's orders when they were but tots, countless times?

"...Dickard, buddy~. Still the master of disguise, I see. But you can't hide from me.."

A very giddy Harper, forgetting any original purpose of coming to the store, let the fancy V-Day card for Raven which he'd been protecting with his life during the running-with-icecream-cart dash, flutter sadly to the floor immediately, when his holding-it-arm found itself around Grayson's shoulder instead, inducing a noogie on the new object of his affection.

"What brings ya here..? Ohp--don't tell me. You're getting me a gift?"

Due to being love?!struck, this was, unfortunately...
"In which case, do tell."
...wishful thinking.

Kaie was one of the few who was enjoying Valentine's Day. She just had to pick up a few more things before heading back home. The giantess was still unsure what to get for Vincent. Most of the stuff required reading, and despite her best efforts he was still rather shaky on that front. She supposed that was just a normal part of being a medieval blacksmith. Maybe she could find some marshmallow-filled chocolate stuff, he'd like that. Kaie just counted herself lucky that she wasn't single like so many poor saps out there. The hearts everywhere had been really annoying before she got a magical boyfriend living in her mirror.

She had just picked up Vincent's gift when all hell broke loose. Some little impy fella was causing mayhem with heart-shaped arrows. Kaie recognized him from the news, some superpowered whatsit with a Robin obsession, Lloyd or something like that. Well, she wasn't going to let him cause any more trouble! The giantess didn't even notice her fellow Titans making a break for the exit. Kaie made a beeline for the reality warper, stepping through and over the crowd. "Hey!" she bellowed, glaring down at the tiny super. "Just what ye think yer doin?" Kaie folded her arms menacingly.

Grumble. Valentine's Day. More like, Cyborg is made well aware of his romantic situation day. Some guys like Robin and Speedy had all the luck. So cute! The girls would scream, and both were messing up team dynamics with their charms and love triangles. At least Speedy had settled, whereas Robin got to string two lovely ladies around and have the gall to act like it was a bad thing. Sure it was, when inevitably one would be heartbroken and he'd have to step in and do the whole threatening older brother thing. Obviously, it would be better if he just ruined any romance he came across. To those who were taking their sweet time with the I-love-yous, they'd better watch their backs. A bitter Cyborg had come to town this Valentine's day.

It wasn't like he had never had a lady. It was just... He'd glance at himself in the mirror and think who'd want that? There were many things he was proud of, but his appearance was not one of them. What girl would like the caress of metal against her cheek? To bump into a hard chin when leaning in for a kiss? Yeah, love and romance for the long term weren't in his future.

As he glanced at the happy couples though, he couldn't help but still hope there was someone out there for him. It was sappy, but he wanted to meet the girl that girl that was the the one. From a logical point of view that didn't make sense, but hey... The impossible had happened before.

He was in the mall because he needed to grab some supplies for the Tower. Mostly recreational stuff he wanted to pour himself into while everyone else was eating chocolate and going on dates. As he left the electronics store with a bunch of hardware in a bag, the sight of the mall had him dropping what he just bought to clatter on the floor. What in the world...? Pink and red arrows were shooting left and right, people suddenly going crazy, the carts overturned and the flower pots shattered on the floor. He had heard the term mad love before but he never witnessed such a perfect example of it. Chaos alright, and he quickly snapped into action like the Titan he was—radioing in for the nearest Titan with a communicator.

He looked left and right, trying to find the source of these stray arrows. Somebody was going to get hurt! So he thought, not yet knowing what they really were. “Everyone clear out!” he boomed over the squeals noise. Then, a somewhat familiar girl fell into sight, with an arrow heading straight toward her.

Time seemed to slow as he dashed toward her, jumping over broken items and trying not to knock anyone over. “Watch out!” He yelled toward her, as he slipped in front of her just in time, arms spread wide. The arrow hit him in the back of his head. Thankfully, it dissolved on impact, or else this would have been one Bloody Valentine. The effect was instantaneous as he looked down at her, the cute blonde he had met once by chance. It was like the sight of her face, angelic and pure, had him walking on air. She was beautiful and he was almost at a loss of what to say; the chaos behind him forgotten.

“Wow,” he breathed, stunned.

Cyborg radioed the first Titan with a Communicator?

That would be Raven.

Because she wasn't at the mall, like so many others. Because she wasn't into chocolate giving, like so many others. Because she hadn't ventured out on the town along with the hoard of every other lover in the City.

Because Raven didn't do Valentine's Day.

Or.... Well. She didn't, before she flew through the shattered front doors of the mall and came heart to point with an arrow. Once it had dissolved, seconds after striking her, Raven did do Valentine's Day.... But not with Roy. Her archer was only a memory now, just Somebody That She Used To Know ♫.... In light of the fact that Raven had just now seen who she was obviously meant to be with....

Somehow, still a ginger, but.... With a lot more pink and lace than Raven normally went for.

The girl had just been fired at, and Raven dove through the air to her side, anxious that she shouldn't be hurt in any way, shape, or form. One arm cradled the girl, gently, and Raven gazed at her face with a look of obvious concern. She would've thought to find the arrow, to heal the wound.... If she'd been thinking at all. But she wasn't, only acting and hoping beyond hope that maybe this girl may possibly maybe just maybe.... This girl would like her back?

Kimber stopped in her steps, when she heard her name being called. Pulling down her yellow Dr. Dre Beats headphone. Turning to see. 

“Charlie?!” Stun to see her fellow schoolmate from the Kingston High Academy. Talk about pure coincidence. “Yeah…” She replies on what Charlie commented earlier. “It sucks that we actually have a day to remind us, single folks. How much it sucks to be single?” She rolls her eyes. 

But, then something caught from the corner of her eyes. Sensing danger. Her hero instinct kicks in. “Charlie, watch out!” She yells and tackles Charlie down. Ducking behind the smoothie counter.

Several arrows started to rain from the sky, or should she say the ceiling. A very dangerous looking arrow, with a pink heart shaped tip?! Okay?! Striking it's victim, before it mysteriously disappears, as it first appears. Turning the couples against each other. The ones that was once in love with one another, suddenly broke up. Falling madly in love with the first person they turn to.

“Stay here! I’ll… ugh.. get help…” She quickly ditches Charlie aside before she (Charlie) could say a word. Hoping to radio in the Teen Titans, about the bizarre crime or phenomena that was taking place. Now, hiding behind a palm tree, in front of a game store. Looking far and wide for the nutcase assailant.

She wasn't aware that she would be Cupid, next unfortunate victim.

“OUCHHHHHH!!!!”

She yelps out in pain, the moment Larry arrow got to her. Like the others, it dooms her to fall for it's love sick spells. Blurring her vision as its spell  starts to take its effect. She finds herself walking aimlessly into a store. While, rubbing her eyes. She couldn't see where she was going and tripped. Falling to somebody's feet and she looks up to see who it was. 

She was stunned to see such a stunning beauty. So beautiful. That she swears. That she had just heard the angels singing from above. And hearts filled the air. Remembering quotes that she had read from the romance novel. Describing how it would feel like to fall in love at first sight.

They were all wrong.

It was pretty damn different than they describe, and a whole lot simpler

Amanda Waller had just flew in from Gotham City. Renting a car. She drove to Jump City shopping mall. And she wasn't there to shop. Instead, she was here on a business trip, to meet someone at 2.00 pm. With, an urgent matter that needed to be dealt with swiftly, with any means necessary.

Checking her watch, for the second time. She came in earlier that schedule. Turning around to see a very deserted parking lot. She began to wonder. If the hired contractor would turn up as promised. Or had he stood her up? Only to waste her valuable time and resources. 

She was referred to her, by her colleague who worked in LA. She had heard rumors about him, in the underworld organization. Well-known for his professionalism and experience, with no question asked policy.

[Gaunt]

Ugh, daytime meetings. Gaunt didn't like this one bit. He normally stayed in the Warren at all costs when the sun was out, but here he was having a noon meeting with this Cadmus clown. It wasn't his idea of a good time. Being vulnerable was an alien feeling to a vampire. Gaunt had spent the last ten years either far more powerful than a human or surrounded by allies in hidden underground complexes. Willingly going out alone when his powers were at their weakest was probably one of the worst ideas he'd had in a while.

Gaunt leaned against a pillar, staying invisible while he sized up Waller. She appeared to have come alone, which was a relief. He was in no condition to fight whatever armed and/or superpowered bodyguards she could have brought. Still, he kept her waiting a bit. There might have been someone else nearby, and he needed to make sure she wasn't going to be radioing any backup. Sure, the place was underground, but you couldn't be too careful.

Gaunt was just dismissing his invisibility when the arrow struck. At the very moment that his illusory smoke cloud dispersed, his new client was struck in the heart. Gaunt immediately dove for cover, peeking up from behind a car. Oddly, she was still standing and the arrow seemed to be gone. "Oi, you okay?"

Then the second arrow came through the ceiling. He stepped back, confused as the arrow pierced his chest and then vanished. He was starting to feel something he hadn't felt in years...

 Elodie was honestly enjoying her day, until she heard something you don't typically want to hear.  "Elodie watch out!" Someone had yelled, and when she turned around to see who had yelled at her, she saw the arrow heading right towards her.

"Ah crap."

When it hit her, Elodie expected to feel pain of some sort. Since, you know, arrows tend to be pretty sharp and stab into you somewhat. Elodie opened her eyes, expecting to see an arrow sticking out of her or something. But there was nothing.

And then there was something, but it wasn't what Elodie would of suspected. Flying towards her was a girl like no other, with purple hair and ashen grey skin that brought out her kohl rimmed eyes. They brought emphasis to her eyes, which was the same color of her sharply cut hair. The purple haired beauty had a arm around her, looking at her with obvious concern.  The pain of her parents and little sister, the worry for her remaining siblings, the need for revenge that drove her every day was there, but with the girl looking at her the way she was it made it all seem smaller. It was a lightness, something that she didn't think existed anymore. It gave her the feeling that things will work out, giving her hope for the best. And all she had to do was look into the girls, Ravens, eyes.

A grin appeared on Elodie as she looked up at Raven, small sparks of electricity coming off of the redhead. "Well hello there gorgeous," Elodie said, wiggling her eyebrows. "I don't know about you, but i'm thinking that there are some sparks flying between us." And then Elodie winked at her.

“LARRY!”

One voice boomed over-top the crashing and lip-smashing of the mall. For a moment everything went still at the invocation, where Starfire stood with green eyes and red hair blazing as green light burst, and then her hair went flat, her eyes wide and soulful, as she stared across to the little floating archer.

“Please, you cannot do this. You do not understand. For the past few seasons my feelings have been in turmoil. What you wish to achieve cannot come to pass.” Her eyes were downcast for a moment, as she reflected on the her time with the Titans since she has returned, and specifically the element of 'love' that the day was supposed to be celebrating.

The false hopes, the attempts at reconnecting, her own feelings twisted in wild abandon from one boy to another. She had played a fool, being dishonest with herself and others when really all she needed was her friend back.

Now, she feared it was too late...

For she could not act as though she did not love him. How could she divorce the feelings of devotion from the every day encounters? How could she just look at him and say he was just a friend? He would always be her best friend, but they could never be the something more... Because that was not what would make her happy. It would always feel like she had cheated someone, whether that was him or herself she wasn't sure.

Nothing was certain, and that was why this certainly could not be. This love, ended before it even began...

She took in a deep breath. “There is only one way that I can convey my heartache to you...” she said, resigned.

“Through a musical dance number.”

The mall speakers turned on with the sudden music, and she struck a perfectly timed pose.

“Stupid Cupid you're a real mean guy~”

The arrows came but she dodged with a spin mid air, and hopped (also mid-air, alien physics) to a large flower pot. “I'd like to clip your wings, so you can't fly!”

She rolled over broken glass and teenagers making out to land on the escalator, all the while dodging arrows with increasingly unlikely probability. She rode up with her hand in the air, singing emphatically, “I'm in love and it's a crying shame!” Then she pointed to Larry as she reached the top. “And I know that you're the one to blame!”

She flew overhead close toward the ceiling, and as she flew large Robin-faced tapestries fell from the bannisters getting in her way. “Hey hey, set me free!” Starfire extended her hand and out burst a large, pink ray that blasted a big, burning hole through the row of hanging Robin faces, allowing her to fly through them easily. “Stupid Cupid, stop pickin' on me~”

Then she landed right by Dick Grayson and his red-haired lover, knocking the other red aside with her hips in a move that was the envy of Shakira-wannabes everwhere. She took the lovestruck, blue eyed and dark haired short boy who had no resemblance to the one burning up ahead whatsoever as she forced him with superior strength and skill into her dance number.

“I can't do my homework, I can't see straight. I meet him every morning 'bout half-past eight.” As she sang she danced them across the shopping mall, spinning him and taking the lead in perfect time to the song and, coincidentally or not, dodging heart shaped arrows.

“I'm acting like a lovesick fool. You even got me carrying his books to school.” They were dancing on the edge of the water fountain in the centre of the large mall. “Hey hey, set me free!” Then, she dipped him as the water shot high into the air, spraying water vapour around them. “Stupid Cupid, stop pickin' on me~”

Then he was dumped into the water when she let him go.

That's when she started to dance closer toward where Larry was hovering. “You mixed me up but good from the very start. Hey, don't play Robin Hood with someone else's heart!

You got me jumpin' like a crazy clown!” She flipped a perfect ten to land right in front of him. “And I don't feature what you're puttin' down.” Star pulled him close to her bosom for a soulful hug. “Since I kissed his lovin' lips of wine, the thing that bothers me is that I like it fine.”

“Hey hey, set me free...” She let him go, and as he prepared one last shot point blank, letting the arrow fire... she caught it in her fist just before it hit her between the eyes. “Stupid Cupid, stop pickin' on me.”

The music ended, and Star was left with an arrow in her grip. Since she could not freely love Robin, then... She poked herself in the butt and looked around. She would fall in love with the first person she saw. That would happen to be the largest person in the mall.

“Oh... Kaie...”
