Truth, Justice, and the last slice of Pizza; this was the unwritted code that the Titans lived by. However, Starfire had a...shall we say...far more flexible palette. She wanted to try something new, but she was going at it alone. That was because it was right after school and she was feeling peckish.
Starfire scoped out a street that seemed to possess many options. That was the problem; there were so many options. The alien drew many stares as she went from fastfood joint to restaurant alike, pressing her nose and palms to the window to see what people inside were eating. She wanted to eat everything, and with her stomachs that quite possible, but alas her wallet was not on par with her appetite. Oh...Oh... what should she pick?
Surely the citizens of Jump City had a more informed opinion on American dining than she did, so she sought out the advice of a stranger. Kory could be content in someone else's decision, rather than agonizing over it on her own. "Excuse me, if you could recommend any one of these eating establishments, which would you choose?"

Brock would call this unusual, but he'd had to think that so many times in this town that it was becoming meaningless. An orange-skinned girl in some odd purple outfit was walking around, pressing her face against windows like an overexcited kid. Most people would have recognized her as Starfire, but Hellsmith didn't watch the news so he just recognized her as hot. He made his way closer, hoping to get on her good side.
As luck would have it, the girl turned to talk to him. She had a funny way of talking, halfway between fancy and awkward. But hey, he could overlook it. Hellsmith pondered for a moment, considering what to recommend. "Well, there's a couple options. As far as me goes, I like the grill around the corner from here. What you in the mood for?" He gave her his most charming smile. She seemed nice enough, maybe they'd be able to spend some time together. "My name's Brock, by the way. What's yours?"
It was not often that someone asked her what her name was; actually, it had been a long time since someone didn't declare ohmygoshaTitan! when they saw her. Still, she beamed, matching his charm and introduced herself. "My name is Starfire... or if you prefer I also go by Kory." It was a new name--one she was beginning to really like. It wasn't like she cared about secret identities. Though it was rather amazing what a pair of sunglasses could do.
"Thank you for the recommendation, Brock." She considered him for a moment, and ventured to ask, "...if you are not busy, would you like to join me?" It may have been overly forward, but she was an alien. Some things she didn't really understand. "I would most appreciate the company, and the guidance at a new food place." What if she mistook something for a topping again? It was much easier when there was someone around to explain the consumption norms around particular food items. Such as not using the spoon for the MnM's, but requiring one for the dip n dots.

Hellsmith kept on smiling, and the girl was returning the favor. As far as he was concerned, his charms were working perfectly. Sure, she looked a bit unusual, but that was pretty common in Jump City. Besides, he'd seen a lot weirder than orangey skin and dot-shaped eyebrows. He could deal. "Kory, huh? Pretty name." He could swear he'd heard the name Starfire somewhere before, but couldn't quite place it. Brock just knew that was going to bug him all day, or at least until he got distracted and forgot it.
His smile just got bigger when she asked him to tag along. Now this was the kind of pace he liked. Just met each other, and already going on a date. Who knew where the day would lead them? "Sure, sounds great." He walked along beside her, not sure who should be leading. Well, he supposed they could figure that out along the way. If she started getting lost, he could put them back on track. He was cool like that.
Brock wasn't quite sure why she would need help figuring out something as simple as BBQ, but he could sort of relate. A lot of stuff was new to him too. It had taken a lot of preparation to get Hellsmith ready for the modern world, and even then it took a while to adjust. Partially because he hadn't paid attention to all the stuff they were telling him, but he wasn't going to admit that. "So, what do you do?"

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
