The day began like any other. Civilians went to work, superheroes patrolled, and supervillains... supervillained. All in all, nothing particularly exciting happened, until just past sunset.
A streak of light crossed the sky, crashing somewhere in the Suburbs of Jump City. Visible even from the far off Steel City, home of the Titans East. Not long later, reports of a meteor crashing into someone's yard. There was a handful of injured civilians, but nobody died. At first, it was left to local law enforcement to bring the casualties to the hospital. Then, there was a report of a missing person. He returned an hour later, disoriented and with no memory of where he'd been. Not long afterwards, just past midnight, there was reports of not only a policeman missing, but a strange lumpy and pale humanoid, devoid of facial features, sneaking around the darkened streets. This bumped up the nature of the event from a mundane threat to a mystery that deserved SOME sort of Titan interference...
[[OOC: If the Alien is possessing an NPC or nobody at all, anyone can RP its actions. If it's possessing a player character, only that player can control it. Please don't hog the alien.]]
The new details of a crashing meteor was only the start. While there had been plenty of crashes by things from outer space right in their backyard, Jump City was pretty much the new Roswell, nobody had gone missing after them.
It was a suspicious set of circumstances that demanded his attention. This was mostly why he had his team fan out in units. He tried to split up the people with knowledge about aliens with the people who didn't. Robin, himself, was paired with Mimic. Partially to keep the kid in line, so he wouldn't attack whatever they first met, and also because Robin trusted him.
Mimic had believed in him when he hadn't believed in himself.
But that was the past. Slade wasn't the threat this time. This time, it came from outer space.
They were driving through the eastbound sector, scanning through the suburbs when something staggered into Robin's headlights. He had barely a second to react. The R-Cycle swerved with just enough time to avoid hitting the person.
Except it wasn't a person.
The Titan's leader managed to stop his cycle and hop off of it. Mimic was airbound. The lucky duck had rocket boots. So, the boy pulled out his communicator and synced to his squad. "Mimic, lock on to my coordinates. I've found something."
Then his attention turned to the other Titans. He hit the button that would send a message to everyone. "I've found something. Sending coordinates." The rest of the Titans would be here soon.
His masked gaze turned instead to the staggering person. He frowned, curious at to what exactly it was. The…thing was humanoid in shape, pale, somewhat lumpy. He moved cautiously towards it, not wanting to get too close until Mimic arrived for backup.
Aliens. Why did it have to be aliens? I hate aliens! And they were invading Jump City at night? Why just why couldn’t they invade some other time like when the sun was out? No, the dark wasn’t what worried him. Darkness he could handle. He was more concerned with the moon. It wasn’t like he suffered from selenophobia or anything rather he was just being wary of the moon’s position. Because nobody else seemed aware or cared enough, Mimic felt it was his job to keep up with the moon and where it was precisely each night and then take notes. He glanced warily up at the moon and shivered even with his full armor on. Mimic was beginning to think the universe was against him.
But Robin wanted, needed his help to investigate the strange goings on in their city and there was no way Mimic was going to let him down. He was deathly loyal to the end because that’s just how he rolled unlike some people he knew.
After a couple of people went missing and returned disoriented with no memory of what happened to them fear engulfed the general populace and rightly so. Even Mimic had to admit to being a tad bit concerned for his and Robin’s safety. What if this thing proved to be deadly dangerous and too much for even them to handle? But no those were foolish and cowardly thoughts. He and Robin were trained warriors after all. They could handle it. Besides he made a promise to himself that he would defend Earth from any alien that dares to threaten it.
Robin naturally chose his R-cycle for his mode of transportation and Mimic used his rocket boots. From the air, Mimic definitely had the vantage point and he went a little ahead of Robin to see if he could find anything suspicious up ahead. Using his helmet he gazed the ground below him for anything out of the ordinary.
What he found made him gasp. “The meteor…” Pulling out his T-Comm he was just about to notify Robin of his grand find when Robin beat him to the punch. Eyes blinking he answered. “Whoa, talk about timing,” Mimic answered. “I was just about to call you. I found something that you just gotta see, so get your butt over here! It’s the meteor, the one that landed in that one civilian’s backyard. Yeah, it’s right here. I’m hovering just above it. Should I…?”
Mimic was just about to land in the backyard to take a closer look when Robin asked him for help due to finding something as well. “Noted Robin. I am getting those coordinates right now, but I am telling you, we really need to investigate this meteor further. I mean really what did you find that is so important that it can’t wait?” Mimic asked, making sure Robin could see the meteor himself over the T-Comm.
But rather dejectedly Mimic did as he was told and flew towards the coordinates Robin sent him grumbling all the way. From the air he spotted Robin and lowered himself down until he landed beside him. “Okay Robin this had better be good. Just why did you…” Mimic’s words trailed off and uttered a startled gasp upon seeing the odd looking lumpy humanoid.
Mimic was about to yell out, ‘zombie’ when he started to have a very familiar shivering fit. A loud gasp escaped his throat when his alien sense activated. He just glanced knowingly at Robin. “Robin, I think…I think he’s an alien,” Mimic verbally pointed out while his alien sense went haywire. “You were right to call me. How shall we proceed? Is he even a threat, I mean…”
Then Mimic had a thought. He wondered if this thing understood Euremian. “You there, stay right there where we can see you. Just who are you and what business have you with this planet? Answer me before I start blasting…” He warned the creature in Euremian, pointing his alien blaster right at it.
Caustic paid good money for this. Hard earned cash that could have gone to her Hive Academy tuition instead went to something she felt might benefit her in the short run; A genuine Titan's communicator, once owned by honorary titan Wildebeest. A few voice modulations to add, and she could fully pass as him over the Titans' chat channels.
Of course, this activity was cut short by more pressing matters. "I've found something. Sending coordinates." the message read, along with a map leading to the suburbs. Sent by Robin, too.

Cyborg had been looking into a weird security glitch when it came to the communicators. Something about Wilderbeast's was off, and he had a feeling that someone was tampering with it. No, he was certain, because he had worked on a fail-safe with Batgirl to let him know if someone would try to hack. The little signal had gone off when it was opened, and while it could be faulty... he wasn't going to take a chance when it came to safety. He was trying to triangulate the location of it, allowing the breech for now, when he got in two calls. One was from Mimic.
"That meteor had already been found, Mimic, and is under forensics. Go to Robin," he chastised, shaking his head slightly. As for Robin... He closed minimized the window of the triangulating communicator, and opened up their leader's co-ordinates. He superimposed an image of the other known co-ordinates of the Titans to see where they were located. "Starfire is closing in, you'll have back up immediately. Hang tight."
He had been sitting in his T-car in the location he had been assigned, doing work on the screen above where the radio sat. Cyborg turned the keys in the ignition and headed off. He was quite a bit aways, but he was a Titan--he'd make it there before he was missed.
Starfire was not too far when she got the message, and she had the advantage of flight. Like dots on a large grid map she could see where her teammates were located, having synced up with them for the purpose of this patrol. Robin's location zoomed in, labelled with his co-ordinates and she knew where to go immediately. "You are in sight," she informed her leader, and as soon as she said that was descending down feet forward, to land easily by his side.
"I do not think threatening it is a wise choice," she said to Mimic with a concerned frown, gazing at his blaster.
When Elodie had first heard about meteor, she hadn't cared much about it. After all, it was just a meteor and it wasn't like anyone had died when it had crashed. And while there was a report of a missing person, Elodie still couldn't care. After all, he had returned later, though disoriented and a loss of memory of where he had been lately. It had only been later, at the reports stating of a strange humanoid, devoid of facial features, sneaking around the dark streets that had made Elodie pay attention.
Which was why Elodie was driving out, in a black car instead of her motorcycle, determined to tag and bag whatever this was and study it. Who knows, perhaps it could help her and her siblings in the long run. Elodie was dressed in a black top, dark denim jeans and wore a dark brown leather jacket, her trademark strawberry blonde hair in two braids though a few strands were left to frame her face. She was messing with her police radio that she had installed in her car, keeping an ear out for any more reports on whatever it was roaming her city. She hadn't come unarmed, having a gun with tracer shells that would allow her to track down whatever it was if it tried to get away from her. And then there was the whole 'I can generate and control electricity' thing that she could do.
That tended to come in handy, especially when her target doesn't know about it.
Stopping at a stop sign, Elodie was scanning the area for anything out of the ordinary. Which, while it wasn't quite what she was looking for, did happen. Elodie watched as the T-car drove by, driven by what looked like Cyborg, smirking. Well, thats one way to find its location. Elodie mused as she followed after the T-Car. She was determined to get to whatever it was roaming around in the dark, even if it only is a tissue sample.

The alien felt so... expanded. The knowledge it gleamed so far already, original mind paled in comparison. Concept of time. Such insignificance before, now infinitely more. Legs work to support and move the body, arms manipulate. Human beings. The Teen Titans. The Miranda rights include the "right to remain silent." To reload a gun, you must first aim in a safe angle, before pressing the magazine release trigger. Starfire. Mimic. What did it know before? Just a goal. To gleam knowledge, and to cause disarray, concepts it now understands more.
It. Me. I understand more.
I examined the foes in front of me. Name: Starfire. Name: Mimic. Real names unknown. I will test them first. I fired a few warning shots from the gun that is my hand.
The Boy Wonder barely registered the argument Cyborg and Mimic were having about the meteor on the back channel. He did, however, note who was close. "Copy," Robin clicked his communicator shut after his team members had responded. His attention was on the blobby…person thing before him.
Mimic arrived shortly before Starfire did. The two boys were staring at the creature Mimic had deemed alien, though, Robin's masked gaze slid to the other boy when Mimic decided that threatening it might be a good idea. Starfire seemed to voice his opinions out loud.
"We don't know if it's a threat or not yet," Robin said, hoping that would keep the headstrong boy from simply attacking the creature by dint of it being an alien. "Maybe we can talk to-"
He was interrupted by what sounded like a series of gunshots. Well, there went that theory. Robin frowned, mostly because he hated guns. The alien didn't seem to have seen him yet. It's focus was mostly on Mimic and Starfire. Our favorite Titan leader took that to his advantage. His bostaff was in his hands before the movement could even be registered. He surged forward, extending it with a soft click, before smashing the staff down towards the gun the thing was holding.
His aim was to disarm it. He didn't realize the attachment of the gun made that literal.
Mimic hearing Star's voice glanced to the side of him in time to see her softly land in between he and Robin. True to form he was about to argue with her, but seeing her frown he calmed himself down. "Look, we don't know what it wants or anything about it. It could very well be a threat and mean us harm. As long as I have breath left within me I will not allow it to harm anyone," he calmly insisted, lowering his weapon down some for her sake.
It hardly surprised him when Robin agreed with Starfire's sentiment. He just sighed mainly out of frustration that nobody ever seemed to take his side. Had he not been a Titan long enough to earn their full trust? Robin was in the middle of suggesting they try communicating with it despite Mimic having already tried it. Although, to be fair Mimic didn't expect the Boy Wonder to know Euremian. But, his fearless leader was quickly interrupted by the alien turning hostile on them and began firing actual bullets at them. 'Whoa, the thing is armed? How the heck did he miss that?' But at the moment it hardly mattered. "Look out!" he shouted needlessly at his teammates.
Again he took to the air to better dodge the incoming bullets figuring that both his fearless leader and Starfire could take care of themselves. "What'd I tell you guys? It's dangerous!" Mimic squeaked in a 'I told you so' manner.
And sure enough just below his feet Robin already seemed to be on top of things. 'Careful Robin,' Mimic thought to himself as to not blow his leader's cover. Indeed, currently the alien seemed mainly focused on him and Starfire; which struck him as odd. But whatever. He wasn't there to psychoanalyze the thing after all. He just wanted to quickly defeat it, so they can all go home and get some sleep and be away from the stupid moon.
But the alien finally acknowledged Robin's presence as the Boy Wonder tried to disarm him. 'Ha!' thinks the alien. 'Foolish Earth child is foolish and seems to be under the impression that my weapon is removable. He. They all shall pay for their ignorance!' Making a sound that resembled laughter, the alien tried firing upon Robin and his pesky friends once more only to discover his arm too injured from the pesky Earth boy's staff to do so. Roaring in frustration the alien tries to overpower the staff wielding Earth child with its bare hands. 'I place my hands around the pesky staff wielder's throat with the intent to cause suffocation.'
But seeing his leader in trouble caused Mimic to take action. He decided the safest way to rescue Robin was to force the creature to let go by returning the creature's focus to him. "Hey ugly, I'm up here!" he shouted throwing a rock at its head to get its full attention with the hopes it will drop Robin.
The ploy seemed to work causing the alien to growl angrily at the armored flying boy who dared throw a primitive Earth rock at him. Letting out a cry of frustration it dropped its hostage in favor of a new one.
"Hey" Mimic said grinning, "bet you can't catch me!" he teased it as he flew around the creature.
In frustration, the creature reached out and swatted at the pesky, flying Earthling only to miss due to the kid being a mite too quick for him.
Normally, Mimic would have just blasted the hostile alien, but he feared he'd accidentally hit Robin.
ooc: I'm probably not the best at being the alien you guys. Apologies.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
