They sat at the kitchen table of their apartment, with a whole slew of pictures in front of them and the albums they picked up together. Until then all their pictures had been kept in envelopes, filed away and stored carefully so as to suffer no damage. There were a lot of pictures, some would say there were too many piling on their kitchen table. There were years worth of photos and memories there, starting from when they first learned they were going to be parents. Starfire had been living with Dick for many years while Mar'i was young, and though she had moved back to Jump City daughter in tow to return to a life of modelling and being a Titan, she frequently kept in touch and met up. It was for Mar'i's benefit but Kory was always up for seeing him, too. They had that kind of friendship and love that transcended the drama of romance, where they connected over the most precious thing they could possible have; a family of their own.
The Titans and the Bats were part of this large family, and Kory smiled as she saw Victor and Mar'i next to a modified gumball machine. For a girl who had lost most of her family, she had grown up having so many in her inner circle. The Titans were certainly the best thing that's ever happened in her life, and while those Golden Days were behind them she still remained connected as a mentor and friend. They all remained connected, and that was really important to her. It was also good for their daughter, whom may not have had uncle or grandparents, but she did have the team. She also had her adoptive family.
"Aw, look," Kory showed him the photo with a fond, reminiscing smile. The photo was Dick with a little Mar'i floating within his arm space. She must have been one or two at most there. They were good about dating the photos, so she looked down to the corner and confirmed their little Mar'i was only one in that picture; one year and four months. "My two babies."
