The Harbinger of Chaos was hunting. It was a new city, a new territory to terrorize. And it was likely that, with all of the media hype and panic, everyone would blame it on the aliens instead! How amazingly awsome was that?!
Kali wasn’t like many villains who wanted to see her name in lights or printed in the paper. In fact, she’d probably blown up more camera and film than anything else in ensuring her face was not ever replicated and so identifiable. She was perfectly happy to be the unknown agent of chaos and just sit back, relax, and watch the show. The only problem was she was still trying to find that channel to tune into in order to watch said show. That was why she was down by the docks.
It was twilight, and the western sky was still orange against the creeping violet. Rather pretty, were it not for all of the container ships and cranes blocking half the view. A good bit of her wandering around had been focused on simply finding a better vantage point to survey the area from. If she had to wait until she found someone, she could at least get a pretty view! At least she knew she couldn’t be too conspicuous in a town full of aliens and heroes and villains, dressed in her uniform as she was. Well, maybe the two long sheaths for her scimitars fastened to her back were unusual, but hey, she wasn’t about to go anywhere alone without some form of sharp, pointy protection. That was why she was here in the first place.
The police had already arrested several members of a gang she had been with temporarily. They were discovered after their hideout had been… mysteriously destroyed in a big old explosion. Hey, it wasn’t her fault that they didn’t tell her about the old dynamite in the basement… She only (intentionally) collapsed part of the building. A bit surprising when the blast became about three times bigger than planned. But this left her again without her “bodyguard,” someone who had the physical strength to complement her superpower.
So she was on the hunt for a new bodyguard. Hopefully one who was just the right mix of super strong, protective, and dim-witted to not argue or fight her, but still be of use. That was the problem with the gang she first met up with – the dimwits couldn’t have worked their way out of a cardboard box. Even a small one.
Perching herself on a some boxes near what looked like a large, potentially secretly active warehouse, Kali decided to wait for a few minutes to see what might be going on. She was cocky, not stupid; if there were other super-powered people in this city, she wasn’t about to engage with them completely blind. Not without her strongman backup. One hand reached up to flip stray strands of black hair back behind her shoulder and her scimitars, Kali looking remarkably comfortable and self-satisfied in her two-piece red and black uniform. One leg was crossed over the other while shifting the skirt farther up her leg, an arm situated a little behind to support her as she idly studied the nails on her free hand as she waited for… something to happen. Given this was a city where heroes could come sweeping by any moment when she was waiting to find fellow villains, she seemed remarkably calm. Collected.
Mostly, she was just bored. Wasn’t there an alien invasion going on or something? Kali had been in the city for a few weeks already. Shouldn’t SOMETHING big be exploding by now?
