Pay the right people, threaten the right relative, and getting special accommodation in Belle Reve was as easy as asking nicely. No matter how many times the city tried to clear the corruption, eventually it would go right back to the revolving door that kept the city so exciting. At the top of the privilege scheme was Slade, also known as Deathstroke the world's greatest mercenary. It was a long time since anyone's heard that name. He didn't bring it up when establishing his connections. He just targeted some particularly gruesome hits, and it didn't take those inside the system to realize they were dealing with a merciless assassin. There was still investigations underway about the murders of prison guards.
They needn't look far. He was already there, behind the force-fields that kept the criminal metapopulation safe in their cells. It was beyond his capabilities for escape, but he didn't need to do that. He was going to be let out whenever he pleased. All because if they didn't, their biggest boogeyman might leave them with a bullet in the brain. They couldn't know that the bald muscle--head with the glass eye and tattoos was actually the sophisticated assassin in disguise. Even if they did, most villains respected his reputation enough that they would gladly assist him in hopes of currying his favour. So, he felt quite at ease in his cell. Very soon, according to his sources, his acquaintance would be arriving.
They shoved the young, fettered man unceremoniously into the cell as the bald-man lounged on the bottom bunk. He smirked, feeling satisfied that there hadn't been a mix-up in the arrangements. Slade Wilson got up to greet his new cellmate. He stood in all his six-foot glory, tall and strong. When they last met, he had been posing as middle aged army veteran, all feeble with his limp and cane. Now he showed off a body more befitting of a thirty year old, with rippling muscles and tattoos. His head was completely smooth (the wonder of disguses) and his van dyke beard black rather than its usual white.
"Looks like you and I are going to be buddies," he said in a deep, booming tone that gave way to a pleased chuckle. "Hope you like the top bunk."
It hadn't been that long since he entered Belle Reve. The place wasn't as scary as his associates made it out to be. From what he could tell, there was no getting out of here anytime soon without help. His inhibitor collar was a bit tighter than he liked, but he figured that messing with it at his point would be a mistake. He knew that at least one or two members of his cult had been placed here like him. Though, he couldn't remember if it was for mass murder or something more heinous. This looked like it would be no walk in the park.
He was escorted down the long hallways as he saw the faces of other metahumans. Some he recognized from television and others he wasn't quite familiar with. Cherufe wondered what he his parents thought when they found out that he got arrested. He imagined his father dousing him using hydro magic. The feeling made him shiver slightly at the thought. Some thoughts should be just left in the past as hidden memories. Though, it was no time to be nostalgic. It was time to get comfortable in his cell. The feeling of comfort was already lost when they forced him into the prison garb and took his things. At least they could of let him keeps his shades, but those were long gone.
The guard shoved him into the cell as the force-field came down behind him. Cherufe gave a rude hand gesture as the guard laughed and walked away. He wasn't in the mood for this. It was hard to believe that a situation that got out of hand landed him here. What was more interesting was that he a cellmate. Someone that looked like more trouble than he was. The bigger man spoke to him as he entered. Cherufe didn't usually care for formalities, but there was no reason to make his time here more stressful than need be. He sighed as he decided to return the greeting. It was better to get along with others here than to ticked off a potential ally. Whatever made things easier.
"I guess the top bunk is fine," he agreed as he stretched out his hand to shake his new cellmate's. "Cherufe"

The boy was making a good start. The disguised Slade grinned crookedly, revealing a silver tooth in the back, and took the hand to shake in a strong grip. "I know," he said. The gaze slipped over to the retreating guard, then back at Cherufe. "You don't think it's a coincidence that you were brought here, did you?"
He let go and gestured to their bare-minimum containment cell. "Make yourself comfortable, but not too comfortable. We won't be here longer than a few days," he promised as he leaned against the wall opposite the bed, crossing his arms over his tattooed chest.
"You caught my boss' attention. He's always looking for people like you and me to fill the gaps in. When I'm not guarding precious shipments, I'm gathering information in prison. We all have our role to play in the grand hierarchy of mischief."
His glass eye glinted in the dim glow of the force field. "I'm here to figure out yours. How does that sound?"
Cherufe was a bit curious about his accommodations. Even the fact his inhibitor collar wasn't working that well either, but he thought it was that the guards were a bit unsure about his total powerset. Though, what really caught his attention was the fact that he caught the eye of someone who was willing to break him out. The question he asked himself was 'What did I really do to get recognized?' The redhead figured he wouldn't ask it was just probably due to his overall greatness. Maybe he would find out the truth eventually. Who knew what this man's boss had planned.
"Sounds like you've caught my attention," he replied as he attempted to placed his hands in his nonexistent pockets before realizing there were none. "It looks like I don't have anything to lose. Though, I'm not sure how much information you already know about me. So, I'll just give you a bit about me," he said as he cleared his throat. "I'm originally from Baton Rogue, Louisiana. A member of the Cult of Nidhogg also known as the Children of Nastrond. We have a variety of names that aren't known to the overall public that we've been called through the ages. Originally we were a clan of druids, though opened up to various other types of magic. I was trained as a magician, but only could use my own abilities. My powers were given to me through a black magic ritual that was thought to bind dragons to human bodies. Though, the rituals results were mistranslated and didn't even need as much magic what they gathered for the ritual. We were taught to instill fear in others while bringing utter destruction to the general populace. I currently have been working for an employer, which probably makes me pretty useless to them since I now have a criminal record. Though, I have guarded shipments, people, and important properties. Same goes for the opposite, I have also destroyed shipments, people (quite literally and metaphorically), and destroyed properties. I was also taught in the use of the Russian art of Systema."
The information was a bit more informative than usual. It did seem to Cherufe that he would owe the guys who were to break him out more information than usual. To him it seemed more like a job interview. He did enjoy talking about magic and things of the occult. The redhead knew a great deal and wasn't going to decline talking about his past. Somethings he would rather go unmentioned, but other than that he didn't mind.

It was surprising, and refreshing, to get almost everything he wanted out of an encounter within the first two exchanges of dialogue. The young man didn't seem to have a problem with sharing his story. The entire time Slade, the incognito supervillain, leaned against the wall and listened to key words. A cult with druid origins, dragons, rituals, and destruction.
"And this cult... Do you work for them on any agendas, or are you more freelance now?" he asked. He usually didn't try to take assets from other organizations unless he had a clear objective in mind. Regardless, Cherufe seemed willing enough, and he always find something for those generous with their services. The man glanced out for a moment to make sure that the guards were farther away as they spoke, in case one on someone else's payroll was meant to be a spy. They were in the clear to talk, and his attention returned to his cellmate.
Cherufe scratched his chin a couple of times before he responded. There was a certain curiosity he had toward the man. He had a few questions he wanted to ask, but wasn't sure how to ask them. It had been awhile since anyone tried to recruit him. His now former employer wouldn't even go to such lengths to recruit anyone. He took a shallow breath before he responded.
"I am freelance. Those that go our own way keep in touch with one of significant rank in the area. We're not held down by the full rules and regulations of the cult. They're altered...the rules that is. As long as we keep in touch from time to time, we're basically free to do whatever. Now, it looks like I need a new employer," he responded.
He glanced his eyes toward the force field. It seemed like he had to put his trust in this man. There wasn't much else he could do, but wait it out his time until his escape. This truly was one of the last places Cherufe wanted to be. The prison gave him a certain feeling of hostility that one didn't just rub off easily. He didn't like close quarters and these walls were a bit too close for comfort.
"May I ask, what does your boss gain by emancipating me from this cell?" he asked. It was the main question that was on his mind. He was confident that this maybe a break that he was looking for. Something to get him to further into his goals. Maybe this man's had more to offer than he could imagine. That's what he hoped for anyway. Little did he know who he was actually speaking to.

Slade had similar arrangements like that in the past, with the League of Assassins. He understood that dynamic well, and if he was willing to cross such a prominent organization like the League, he had no qualms about facing a small cult if any disagreements about employing one of its members came about. He nodded, to indicate he understood what the boy meant. Then, it was time for him to answer a question. It was one that made him grin.
"You're of no use here. Being in prison is for guys like me, who know the ins and outs," he began to explain. "Maybe one day you'll learn to navigate this world, but a man of your particular talents is better put to use out where you can wreak havoc."
He pulled himself up off the wall and looked out into the other prison cells. What he saw was caged potential. Some, he knew very well, and had worked with in the past. Others he had yet to find a reason to employ in his nefarious schemes, hence they never had the pleasure of being broken out of prison. "My boss likes to work in the background. Whenever the Titans have their hands full with the people at the forefront, they don't notice what goes on in the shadows. You also have a connection to supernatural forces. That can come in handy," he said, and it certainly did. It was why he was alive today.
"That, and it's easy." The smirk on his face was sinister. Slade wasn't sticking his neck out for him; he was just cashing in on a corrupt system. Any reason was reason enough.
Well, the man's answer did clear some things up, but he still was curious about how this plan went to get him out. Cherufe wasn't the guy to be left in the dark about things concerning him. It was a touchy subject. Though, he just had to wait a couple of days before he was able to cause as much chaos as he could. The pyromancer was a bit lost for words. He wasn't quite sure what to do or say. A twisted smile graced his face as he lifted his head up a bit higher.
"It looks like we're going to have a very good relationship. Your boss has a very intricate style. I wouldn't mind being an additional distraction to the Titans. I get to cause havoc and get to learn something new."
He then tossed himself onto the top bunk and started to stare at the ceiling.
"So, what would you prefer for me to call you?" he inquired.
Slade smirk to himself at the inquiry. What he would prefer to be called was Master, but he's had the experience that proud, angry young med didn't quite take to it when he insisted. So, he offered a throw-away alias he could shed like the disguise. "For now, you can call me Macwell," he answered as he pushed off the wall to slip into the bottom bunk. "Don't sweat it though, kid. We won't get much time to chat. So, rest while you can."
He planned to put the boy to work as soon as he was free.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
