Characters: Silverwing (Feathers) & Slobo (Gaunt) Setting: Outskirt of Jump City Previous Threads: None Plot Summary: Thanks to Dr Light. Silverwing and Slobo got trap underground cave. Unable to catch their break. One is blinded and another injure severely. Slobo healing started to fail him. Only rely on each other to survive and fight off Dr. Light until cavalry. Will they make before sun rise?
"This is Silverwing. We are in a fight with Dr. Light. We could seriously use some back-up here. Anytime now!" Silverwing grunted. "Sending our coordinate now..." She clicking on the SEND button before grumbling. "...like for the hundred time. WHERE ARE THEY?" She clutches to her Titans communicator. Hiding behind her silver shield. She swiftly attached it back to her utility belt. "EEK!" Letting out a shriek when a powerful blast shatters her silver shield. Two figures were in a stance off. One was Slobo, who had been covering her while she called for help. Facing the villain on his own. A bearded, helmeted male figure perched on it is clad in a skintight black outfit with a light bulb on the chest, and both hands glow very brightly.
"Your pathetic skills can't outshine the brilliance of Dr. Light!" Making Silverwing growl.
As if the punchline wasn't bad enough, she can't believe. Dr. Light gave them a chase. Chasing him down till the outskirt of the city. They had no choice. As he (Dr. Light) was carrying, a stolen Solar Dragon prototype solar battery. It was said to carry immersing solar energy. Powerful enough to power several cities. But the project was later scrapped, as each time they try to tap and drain the energy. It exploded. Causing several casualties. Good thing. They were out of the city. Now, if only they can only get it out of Dr. Light hands?
"Soon, with this power cell" He showed off the stolen solar battery "I'll have the ultimate solar power at my fingertips! Even you will be no match for my enhanced powers." "Wanna bet?" She grabs several silver bells from her tool belt. "SLOBO DUCK!" She threw the silver bells up in the air and her eyes started to glow. With the motion of her hands. The silver bells began to multiply and shaped itself into daggers, before raining itself on Dr. Light.
Slobo didn't know too much about this Dr. Light guy. What he knew was that he was getting real sick of his puns. So far most of what he did was make light-related jokes. Still, he was proving pretty hard to catch. Slobo assumed that he would be able to nab him easily, considering most of his DNA came from an intergalactic bounty hunter, but this guy was slippery, especially with that new super battery he'd stolen. Slobo and Kimber had chased him all the way out of the city, and were only now catching up to him.
He didn't like this. There was still plenty of room to run, but Dr. Light had stopped to fight them. He wouldn't do that unless he had some sort of advantage. Slobo's danger senses were going wild. He darted out of the way as Kimber shot her daggers, the projectiles bouncing off a force field the supervillain made. Okay, maybe this guy was tough after all. Slobo wondered if he could handle full Czarnian strength? Well, full partial-Czarnian strength. The hero charged in, punching the force field as hard as he could. He could feel his bones crack and regenerate from the impact, but the shield flickered a bit. Only a few more-
He was interrupted by Light's counterattack. The villain fired a massive blast of light at them, cracking the ground beneath their feet. Slobo's eyes stopped working for a few seconds as the two heroes fell into a cave. When his eyes healed, there was darkness all around them, with only a dim light far above.
Everything happens so fast. In a blink moment, they were fighting and next they were blinded by a bright light.
“ARGH! MY EYES!” Silverwing turns away and covers her eyes. The light was so bright. It hurts her eyes. It was like staring directly into the sun but much more worst. Hearing another blast. She felt the ground beneath her feet began to shook. Follow by a loud rumble. The next thing, she knew. “Eh…” She felt herself falling.
“SILVERWING!” Slobo voice. It was the last thing, she heard before blacking out.
Waking up. Regaining her conscious. She had no idea. How long had she been out cold? Or Where she was? Everything around her was pitch black. Trying to get up. Her body wince in pain. No broken bones. Nothing serious but just cuts and bruise. She just felt it. It was her body after all.
“SLOBO!” She sat up and called for him. They needed to regroup and find Doctor Light. “SLOBO!” She called his name again and she heard nothing. Except, the echo of her own voice. “Where are you?” She whimpers as her breathing became heavy. “I’m okay. I’m fine…” She talks to herself. Hugging herself. “I’m okay…I’m fine….” Trying to convince herself. Just as her Claustrophobia fear began to take root in her mind. She tries her best to push the fear to the back of her mind, but it coming back strong and fearful. Slowly, wrapping itself around her. Poisoning her mind. Making valuable.
“What is she was starting on the edge of the cliff? What if she was trapped underground? Bury Alive?” Gasping for air and shaking “Oxygen?! What if I don’t have much air left? What if…if I die here alone?” She spoke to herself
“I’m scared….” And it (the Fear) won. "Slobo..." She couldn't understand. Why was she calling his name at a time, like this? Why?
Slobo's eyes opened, hearing Silverwing calling for him. He'd been knocked out. How had he been knocked out? That wasn't supposed to happen. The Top Teen sat up, taking stock of things. He couldn't really see anything down there, but judging by the faint light from above, that wasn't blindness. His eyes had healed, they'd just fallen down too deep to see much. He stood, feeling his way towards the silver-haired heroine's voice.
"Silverwing?" Once again, he'd barely stopped himself from calling her real name. It was part of the trouble of being close both in and out of costume. He got too familiar, risked accidentally blowing her secret identity. Sure, they were pretty deep down, but he didn't know if Dr. Light could still hear them. The old goof had turned into a serious threat all of a sudden, and he couldn't afford to endanger Kimber's civilian life.
"Silverwing, I'm here." He'd heard her speaking softly, worrying about oxygen. Slobo scanned her, his combat sense reaching out to probe for weaknesses. She wasn't deprived of oxygen, and didn't seem to be in any danger of it if the hole above was any indication. But... "Silv, you're good for air, but your eyes are damaged. Can you heal yourself?" He still wasn't clear on just how much her magic could do. Gadgets were easy to understand, he had an innate knowledge of physics and the like. Magic, on the other hand, operated on its own alien set of rules. That was the real tricky one.
Silverwing jumped when she heard him calling out to her. "Where are you?" She tries standing up. "I can't see you." She tries to locate his voice in the darkness. Tempted to walk over to him. Making her way towards him in the dark. Against her better judgment, she decided not to. Concern. She was worry and scare. That she could be standing at the edge of the cliff. Walking into her doom. Swallowing a lump in my throat
"Flashlight...Flightlight..." She mumbles. "Where is it?" She fumble in the dark. "Is it me or it just...?" "...but your eyes are damaged. Can you heal yourself?" "What?!" She froze when she heard him say that. Dropping the flashlight on the ground. Shaken up. She tries to stay calm and reply. "I can't. It only goes one way. I can only heal others and not myself...." Reaching her hand over her face. "So, I really can't see...I'm really blind..." She wonders.
Would this be permanent? Is she blind for good? Does that mean her life was over? Feeling the tears in the corner of her eyes. Hah! How was she going to explain this to her grandfather? Tears started to fall from her eyes and she couldn't help but to break down crying.
Okay, maybe that had been a bad idea. He'd wanted to tell Kimber what was going on, not send her further into a panic. Worse yet, he'd made her cry. Slobo put his arms around her, patting her back. "It's gonna be okay, Silvy. You aren't hurt that bad, it'll come back soon enough. Besides, Titans Tower got all sorts of medical stuff to speed that along, right?" He was telling the truth. Dr. Light's blast hadn't been bright enough to cause permanent damage, but it was a doozy over the short term.
"Don't worry, I'll get us out of here. Just gotta put something together then we can find a way out." They'd fallen pretty far, going through several layers of flimsy caves that had broken their falls. He'd need to be careful picking their way out, he didn't want to cause a collapse or end up falling deeper. Slobo rifled through his pockets, picking apart some scraps he had with him and making a crude headlamp. Nothing fancy, but enough to get them through.
Slobo put the headlamp on, flicking on the light before bending down to tend to Kimber. "Better take care of this." He opened up her first aid kit, taking out a roll of bandages and bandaging up her eyes. Once that was done he stood, scooping Silverwing up in a bridal carry. "Keep an ear out, tell me if you hear or feel a draft." He started to walk down the tunnel, trying to find a place that might angle up. They'd fallen into one hell of a network of caves. If he were alone, he could just smash his way out and not worry about getting hurt in a collapse, but he had to watch out for Kimber now too.
Silverwing tries her best to stop crying. But the tears kept pouring out from her eyes and she couldn't stop crying. She started to calm down when Slobo gently rubbed her back as if to calm down a child. He was right about one thing. The Titans medical bay had advance medical equipment to care injure and wounded Titans. Curing her temporary blindness would a hitch
But still....the thought of being blind. Trap in forever darkness still scare her.
Stuck in her thoughts and worries. She wasn't paying any attention to Slobo or even listen to a single word. It only dawns on to her. Pulling her back to reality. He stated her when he lifted and carry her in his arm.
"SLOBO!?" She yells out in embarrassment. "Put me down! I can walk..." It felt her heart was rumbling against her chest and it was about to bust wide open. How the way he was carrying her? Make things. Way too awkward for her to even put into words. "Your gonna fall if don't hold onto me..." "Cheeky bastard..." Mumbles escaped from her lips and she obediently did as she was told. She could feel the heat rise to her cheeks. She wonders. Could he see her blushing red like a tomato? Dear god. She hopes he doesn't. Being so close to him, she could inhale his smell. It smells innocent yet muscular if that was even possible to be described. Being so close to him. It was getting harder and harder to think straight or not faint
He could feel her heart pounding as he carried her. His combat sense was setting off alarms, too. Her alarmed state was only making things worse, but he didn't know how to calm her. The last time he'd tried he'd only made things worse. Slobo could do a lot of things; he could build and design all sorts of gadgets, recover from almost anything, see right through his enemies, but social situations were still hard for him. It was part of the reason he acted cool and tough, it was easier to not make a fool of himself if he kept some distance.
Slobo let his companion down, keeping a hand to steady her. He was worried letting her walk through an uneven cave completely blind. Still, she was insistent, and he wasn't going to stop her. "Just be careful. Slow steps, don't put any weight into a foot until after it's on solid ground. Don't want to roll your ankle, right?" He'd been trained somewhat to deal with this stuff before the lab had realized just how powerful his healing factor was. With how fast he recovered, it seemed kinda pointless.
He tried to keep his attention forward. There were some drafts ahead, possibly even a way out. He just had to follow the wind. Still, it was hard to focus this close to Kimber. She was flushing pretty bright in the dim light of the cave. He figured it was probably pretty embarrassing, having to rely on him like this. "Tell me if anything changes, okay?" He kept moving slowly forward, not wanting to rush her and trip her up.
'Urgh! Curse his innocent human nature! Read the flow! Dammit!'
Silverwing mentally curses inside her head as Slobo puts her down. But it wasn't so bad leaning against him than hanging onto him. Their skin touching one another, just make her blush even harder. It was so hard to keep a level headed without thinking or steering clear from...well, perverted thoughts.
Great! Now, she's thinking just like Kaie. She shook her head. It didn't make it any easier that her mind. Keep going back, replaying when they first kiss. It was just a peck, but it felt different somehow. She has kissed boys before this one was different. Why? Why was it so different with him?
Either one of them had spoken about that kiss since that day. Pushing it aside like it never happens. Well, for her anyway. Everything she wanted to bring it up. It never seems to be the right time or she was just too embarrassed to talk to him. Maybe? She was afraid. What would he say? Slobo never experiences romantical human emotion. He practically grew in a test-tube and he was taught. What he needed to know and survive as a soldier. Not, some shojo drama land. Sighing under her breath. She froze when Slobo moves closer to her and yell.
Slobo's senses were getting all sorts of weird signals from Kimber. Aside from the blindness and all the stress that was causing, his combat sense was giving him other warnings, how she was distracted, something about him was occupying her. He wasn't sure what, but it was kind of flattering. He suppressed a grin as he carried her along. He'd have to figure this out later, but it certainly seemed like a positive.
Less positive was Dr. Light dropping in on them. It seemed like he'd been trying to find them, or maybe they'd just stumbled across his secret escape path. Either way, he had found them, and he was on the attack. That took away their one advantage, the possibility he thought they were dead. "Get down!" Slobo pushed Kimber out of the way of a light blast. The poor girl was just along for the ride as they narrowly dodged the beam.
The next blast they couldn't dodge. Slobo turned his back, using his body to shield Kimber. He grimaced, the back of his shirt and a few layers of skin burning away. It started to heal, but it seemed to be slower than usual. Something was wrong, this was taking too much out of him. He'd have to find a way to end this quick. "Got any magic tricks, Silvy?" he whispered through gritted teeth.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
