Sterling let out a friendly sounding chuckle. Then a wink. Of course he was good at dealing with people when THEY weren't flirting with HIM. Back in the tower, Silverwing had given him quite a start. But then, this was now. Now he was on his turf, inviting people to a charity event. The more people there, the more people would be playing games and earning money for kids with cancer. Plus, she seemed nice.
"Of course you're invited, Ms. Blythe."
He laughed when Dick mentioned the LAST charity event he had been to. Sterling hadn't been to one in over a year, so he didn't know how that one had gone, but this one would go well. He hoped.
"The note says free snacks, video games, and soda or energy drinks for the players. Basically, play games to raise money until you're too tired to keep playing."
He chuckled again, this time acknowledging Dick's comment about texting.
"I actually don't get a phone until tomorrow....and my family is really, REALLY overt about magic. Hell, I'm not ALLOWED a secret identity when I go super-heroing. It's honestly kind of awkward."
He laughed again.
"Anyway, it's in about a week. My folks will send a private jet to pick me and anyone I invite up, in lieu of teleportation, as that can get messy. If, like, a fly gets in the magic circle or something when you're casting, you can end up with Fly DNA. It's....not fun to reverse.""
He smiled, as he pulled a pen out of his pocket and scribbled "Bringing friends, 'kay?" on the note, and it vanished. It reappeared about five seconds later with more written on it.
"Alrighty, one week from today, my folks will send the jet. Sound good to you guys?"
