How utterly snobby this school sounded, though in seeing the price tag it was clear to many that this school was as snobby as it sounded. And oh how Maggie argued to not attend the Academy and pointed out that her A-B grades were going to be ruined because of all the spoiled, rich brats attending. Her parents, while seen as easy going and supportive, hadn't let the subject be a subject of discussion and had given their first and final words on the topic.
"You're going."
And so Maggie Blythe was there, looking up at the school with a frown as she tugged at her uniform. Yes, it was a uniform school and Maggie hated it. Her own style was conservative enough and actually fit her, unlike this stupid uniform that was completely uncomfortable. Course, she did look somewhat okay in it, but she liked her belted dresses and skater skirts better. Sighing and feeling homesick for Ashford, Maggie walked into the school with her head held high and her shoulders back. Because there was no way she was going to just walk in with her head down because that is just not how Maggie Blythe works.
Maggie held her schedule in hand, glancing down at it as she searched for her locker and for her first class.

The problem with living a double life was that they didn't always sync up properly. Because of this Dick Grayson was either incredibly early or incredibly late whenever he did manage to get to school. Today he was early. He'd been ghosting around the halls, trying to avoid the many local bullies that liked to harass him, and had finally settled on a quiet corner to finish some homework in. After all, it wasn't often he had down time.
When the hour for school to actually start rolled closer Dick got up from his hiding spot that he'd found besides one of the water fountains. The boy dusted off his pants before wandering down the hall to his own locker. The deftness with which he did the combination lock didn't match up at all to the awkward little mathlete. He pulled out the books he would need for his first period- math and the next consecutive classes.
Dick was pretty sure his backpack weighed a ton by the time he had all the needed books. He scowled as he shouldered it, cursing the weight of text books, and almost looked like Robin. But then he was hiding behind the messy black bangs and easy expression.
He was making his way slowly towards home room when he noticed a girl holding a sheet of paper in her hands and looking lost. That had been him, years ago, when Bruce had first adopted him. Going to school had freaked out the little acrobat at first. Dick was great at adapting, though, and always willing to lend a hand.
“Hey!” he said softly, stopping besides the girl and peering around her to look at the piece of paper in her hand. “You're new, huh? Welcome to Kingston.” the smile her shot her was warm and genuine. It extended to his bright blue eyes. He held out a hand in greeting. “I'm Dick Grayson,” he left out the ward of the famous billionaire, Bruce Wayne, bit because everyone always seemed to know that. Unfortunately.
Maggie just knew that going to school here was going to drive her nuts as she looked at her fellow classmates with a slight frown on her face. Its like going to school with a bunch of models! Seriously, is there something in the water in this city that makes everyone like this? Maggie thought, thinking that it made quite a bit of sense. However, there were certainly exceptions, seeing how Brock was gorgeous yet new here and how some villains were just plain gross.
Like Control Freak, though Maggie wasn't sure if he was native to the city or not.
Maggie was taken from her thoughts over the water system in the city and back into the real world when someone spoke to her, startled. Busted, She thought, a sleepy smile appearing as she looked at the speaker, a thin boy with messy black hair and brilliant blue eyes. He was apparently the welcoming party, and Maggies smiled brightened. "Why, yes I am and thank you," Maggie said cheerfully as she took his hand, shaking it firmly because nothing leaves a better first impression than a smile and a firm handshake.
"Its mighty fine to meet you. I'm Maggie Blythe," Maggie introduced herself, tilting her head slightly as she thought over his name. It sounded familiar, though where she heard it before escaped her. "And I thinkin that I may need some. Its just that this school is quite a big bigger than my last one. Small town, small school and all that. Its a bit overwhelmin and I think I just need to get back to just whelmed, you know?" Maggie said, looking around. This school was giant compared to Ashford High, with more activies and clubs and sports than Maggie thought possible for one school. Which reminded her....
"Also, do you know if we have a good football team?"

Maggie's handshake was surprisingly strong and the boy raised his brows in surprise as he let his hand fall limply to his side. When he wasn't Robin he tried to make his handshakes as unassertive and unassuming as possible. The southern accent was surprising, but pleasing, and he felt a pang of grief. That sort of accent had been common whenever the circus headed to or from their winter location in Florida.
The boy's smile faltered. He managed to fake one long enough to say, “It's great to meet you too,” out of politeness before it began to fade again. She was talking about her old school. He nodded in a manner that said he understood what she was talking about, although, he really couldn't. Dick had never gone to a small school. He'd only ever gone to large, fancy ones. The ward of Bruce Wayne had to have the best schooling money could buy, after all.
But Dick knew what it was like to have the rug ripped out from under your feet. To have everything change on you.
Then she said a word pun and his face lit up. Dick loved word puns. He had decided this Maggie girl was alright. “I know what you mean. When I first started going to school there was just so much to take in. he shot her a grin that bordered on confident, a rarity for Dick Grayson. “You just gotta feel the aster.”
Suddenly she was talking about football and the confidence was gone. “The-the football team?” Dick echoed with something of a stammer. He wore an expression of surprise before it became clearly guarded. The boy hunched his shoulders forward as thought expecting a blow. “They're uhh. Well, they win games. I guess. And...and some of the guys are nice,” but, obviously, not all of them.
“Did you find your locker?” he asked in a manner of changing the conversation.

"You got to feel the Star?"
No longer the new alien girl, Starfire floated from around the corner of the hallway with her books in her hands, giggling at the odd expression. Earth had some strange sayings, though that one struck her as particularly funny because of her usual name. "Greetings," she said after acknowledging that she had just parachuted into a conversation. She flashed a smile to the other girl, and then an extra special smile to Dick. She was here early because she was an early riser anyway, and because she was meeting someone for help in English class. She needed all the help she could get and certainly early was better by her schedule.
She flew around to peek at the schedule, gasping a bit when she saw some similar classes. "I did not see you in those before? Are you new? Where are you from? Can we be friends?"
"Hey Kory!"
Oh, there was her other friend now! "I have got to go. I shall do the seeing of you later," and so the Titan zoomed off before even catching her name, with the promise of meeting her in class.
ooc: I think of it every time I read Feeling the Aster so quick insert there ;D
Hes not much of a smiler, is he? Maggie thought as she looked at Dick, studying him. He wasn't very assertive, this slim boy who reminded Maggie of a toothpick. She could easily picture him walking the halls with his head down and his mouth shut, just trying to get through the day without calling too much attention to himself. And yet he had gone out of his way to welcome her, which made Maggie want to give him a hug but faught against it. He didn't seem like much of a hugger.
Of course, at her word pun Dicks face lit up and Maggie smiled. Theres a good look for him. Maggie thought as she listened. "Exactly! I mean, this school has more than two foreign languages classes! More!" Maggie said excitedly, grinning right back at his own word play. He should smile more, Maggie thought, her smile reaching her eyes.
Course, when she mentioned the football team the confident grin was gone and Maggie knew that she had made a mistake bringing them up. Have they hurt him? Maggie thought as she watched his shoulders hunch forward, as though expecting a blow, her eyes widdening. Sure, there had been some jerky jocks back home but because it had been a small enough to wn and therefore everyone knew everything about you and your day bullying hadn't been much of an issue. "Sorry! Forget I even asked that. Its just that back home Football is a big thing, though I suppose here its all the superheros and villains that are the big thing," Maggie said quickly, wondering (and hoping) that perhaps he was a fan of the Titans.
"Hm? Oh, um, not yet but I do think its down this hallway some-" Maggie was cut off by a girl had just floated down to them. With her red hair and orange skin, as well as her ability to fly, meant that she could only be one person.
And for once, Maggie was utterly speechless.
Maggie stared at Starfire as she flashed a smile at her and Dick, though it seemed as though Dicks had a little something special to his smile from her. Maggie looked at him with wide eyes and a dropped jaw as Starfire flew around her to look at her schedule. She was speechless as Starfire indicated that they may have some classes together, only able to nod her head as she watched the Titan fly off towards another person. She looked back at Dick, right as her mouth decided that yes, it wanted to work again.
"Was that- Oh my gosh, was that-Oh my gosh that was Starfire!" Maggie finally squeaked, geeking out a bit. That was her first time meeting one of the original members of the Titans, for mostly shes only met other and newer members like Kaie and Mimic. And then it hit her. "Son of a biscuit! I just met one of the original members of the Titans and just stood there and nodded like a bobble head!" Maggie felt the urge to face palm herself, yet didn't because of Dick being there.
Kimber Fowl came a little late too, but oh no, she isn’t alone. She came with a bus full of student of Berklee’s Academy. Her face was glue to the windows, as it drive into the driveway of Kingston’s High Academy. Excited. She ditches her friends and teachers, after grabbing her cello case, to explore the school, and found herself in the school hallway. Ignoring, the odd look as she was dress in Berklee’s Academy uniform. Probably, giving them the ideas she came to the wrong school. or dress in the wrong outfit.
When she heard Kingston's High Academy and Berklee’s Academy was having an musical exchange program. She didn't think twice and hopped onto the chances. Yes, for extra credits purposes and meeting…
“DICK!” She holler his name, as she spotted him down the hall. Excited and thrill to meet good friend, who seem to be standing next to… “Maggie?!” Remembering the girl as Kaie friend, who brought cupcake to the tower. Surprise. She blurted out her name, only realizing and remembering. That she hasn't share her civilian identity with her yet.
Oh shoot! As she curse under her breath.

“Yeah, superheroes are big around here,” the boy affirmed with a nod, glad the subject had changed. “Superman is my hero. I follow him on the news.” he confided with a grin. “Do you have a favorite?” then she was mentioning something about something or something because it flew out of his head the instant a not-very undercover Titan entered the scene.
There was an instant change in Dick's demeanor as soon as Starfire turned the corner and greeted them. He returned her smile with his own. His eyes didn't leave her as she floated over towards Maggie to question the girl about her schedule. They were hooded by his messy dark hair, but the gaze could probably be felt. The alien princess was there and gone in a matter of moments but long after she left the young acrobat still had the hint of a stupid smile on his face and a more relaxed posture.
Maggie's fangirl moment wasn't lost on the boy. He gave her a wry smile, but kept glancing in the direction the redhead had gone. “Yeah, it didn't take us long to figure out Kory was Starfire. I don't think they do secret identities on her planet,” he told the new girl with a shrug. “But she's really nice. Bobble-head and all I guarantee she'll still talk to you,” there was a silent she talks to me, after all tacked to the end that could be read in his posture.
Suddenly, someone was shouting his name down the hall. Dick froze and shifted so that he appeared smaller until he realized that it wasn't someone who was going to hurt him. The perplexed expression on the boy's face was probably entertaining. “Kimber?” he said he name as his posture relaxed again. “You...you know Maggie?” a pause. “Why are you even at Kingston? I thought you didn't go here.”

Sterling was simply exploring the school today. He didn't start actual classes until tomorrow. Now that he was a Titan, officially a part of a super-team, his father had given him access to the family funds again provided he went back to school. Just to spite the man, he was gonna do it. August didn't expect him to actually go back to school. Sterling had always hated school. However, now he viewed it as a window to sweet, sweet normalcy.
The only "Super" object he had on him was the coin, at the moment, though if he did his little transformation sequence his book would materialize, at least. He didn't need Fimbulvtr's lip at the moment, though. That book would chastise him for trying to be normal in any way shape or form. The school had actually been reluctant to accept him, even though he was a member of one of Gotham's uppercrustiest families. It was the whole "Having been homeless" thing. A donation to the school in his mother's name, however, changed their minds. She was always trying to look after him, and in this case it was welcome. Which seemed odd, now that he thought about it. What did they care, as long as he had money? But the school had a reputation to uphold or something. He hadn't been paying attention.
He let out a sigh as he walked down the hall. He was wearing the usual rich kid outfit that he had worn as a kid, but sized up for his now five foot eight frame. Black slacks, black expensive tennis shoes of a brand he did not remember, White button down shirt. He was lost in thought, thinking about rebuilding his game collection and where he would begin. Probably with rom hacks put onto actual cartridges, those were usually hard to find unless you ordered them. Not worth much, but fun to play. He had a few games for his handheld NES thingy already. He wondered if he could order a Nintoaster like James Rolfe had. The Angry Video Game Nerd was one of his personal heroes.
That was when he bumped into a skinny young man. Now, Sterling wasn't very big himself, so he kind of stumbled and steadied himself on the wall.
"Sorry, sorry. You okay, Man? Name's Sterling. Didn't mean to bump you, I just space out sometimes."
Kimber mentally kicks herself, as she mentally apologize to Maggie in her…head. Right. She swear she gonna make it up to her (Maggie), by buying her shoes. Yes, shoes. She’s a girl, and she loves her shoes. All girl loves shoes, deal with it.
She felt the Universe was in her favour, when Dick asked her, Why was she in Kingston?
“Oh, your school and mine has a musical exchange program. So, I had to come…I mean join, so I could see you again…” She smiles. “And meet the Teen Titans…”
Liar Liar pants on fire!
“I heard some of them actually enrol in this school. You guys are so lucky. I wonder if I could meet Aqualad?” Okay, that part was true, since she was a fan. “He does enrol here, right?”
She jumped when two hands was on her shoulder.
“KIMBY!!!” She wince as she recognize the two familiar voices. “Hi Jade! Hi Ruby!” She turns to her two best friends. Jade, a gal who originated from Korea, and Ruby, an African-American gal. “How dare you ditch us to…” They both turn to look to see Dick, and knew why she left in a hurry and shook their head. “Madam Flynn is looking for you. Come on!” Jade says as she started to drag Kimber away, while Ruby helped her carry her cello case. “Urgh…Bye guys! See you at lunch.” She waved, and wonders if she will be able to see them for lunch.

"Well i'm not really up to date on who all the superheroes are right now cause we don't really have any back home in Georgia, but if anyone I would have to say Superman as well. He seems like a good ol' boy, doesn't he?" Maggie said, smiling when Dick said that he was a fan of Superman too. Good! Maybe he can tell me everything he knows about him, like why he wears his underwear on the outside of his uniform Maggie thought happily.
Her fangirl moment wasn't lost to him while his staring at the redhead superheroine wasn't lost to her. My my, does he have something for Starfire? She thought, reminding herself to ask Kaie if Starfire was seeing someone. It would be lovely to put the two of them together, and perhaps might give the young man some confidence. "Thanks Dick, and i'll remember that-" Maggie said, about to say more when someone shouted Dicks name down the hallway, followed by her own.
Kaie? Maggie first thought, scanning for the giantess but not seeing her and believe me, she would of seen her. She saw Dick freeze and move around to make himself smaller and instictually took a step closer to him. Noone was going to beat up her new friend with her around.
Instead it was a girl who, while looking familiar, was unknown to Maggie. "Um, yes?" Maggie said, trying to be polite though she looked at Dick with confusion. She didn't know the girl, but apparently he did. And then the girl said that she didn't know her, which was even more confusing and suspicious! "This school as programs like that? Maggie questioned as two other girls came and dragged the girl away and Maggie took the chance to look at Dick. "Who was that? And how did she know my name?"
AND THEN, just to add more to the confusion of her first day, a taller boy with silvery hair bumped into Dick, though at least he apologized and whatnot. This place is a mad house Maggie thought, rubbing her temples. Too many people and too much confusion, with the added headache of Richie Rich types speaking about Dick in a different language close by, her ears tingling.
Wait a second...
"Excuse me, but did anyone ever tell you that its rude to talk about someone behind their back? Now, if you don't have anything nice to say then I'll suggest that you hush." Maggie said, sounding much like her Nana Blythe with her hands on her hips and eyes narrowed. The group looked startled, surprised that she could understand them, before one said 'whatever ' and they left. Should of brought the ice dagger and froze them in place until they said their apologies. Maggie thought, frowning.
The young acrobat gave his friend the blankest of stares when she mentioned a music program, but he simply nodded his head. Dick really wasn't a musical person, except for those random occasions when he would burst into song. He had no idea what Kingston's music program was like or if they bussed in people from other schools. So, the boy just nodded as he listen to Kimber ramble about music programs, and then the Titans, and then Aqualad.
It seemed as soon as she had come she was being pulled off by another set of girls. He looked confused at the knowing look they shot each other when they had caught Kimber talking to him. His gaze glanced towards Maggie to see if she'd seen it too and he wasn't making things up. “See you!” he called after the trio before turning slightly to address the new girl.
“That was Kimber,” Dick said staring after the girl who had just whirled down the hall with her friends. That seemed to be the way of things. Girls liked to say hello to him and run off. It was weird. “She...uh...” he wasn't sure how to explain that he'd met her when they were both kidnapped together. Because he doubted things like that happened in the mystical happy land of Georgia. So he settled for the next best thing. “She goes to a lot of social functions. Maybe you met her and don't remember because there were so many people?” he covered.
It would, of course, be that moment when he was giving Maggie a reassuring smile that someone would bump into him. Dick stumbled forwards, tripping over his own feet, and face planted on the hallway linoleum. The boy was quickly scrambling back up to his feet mumbling. “Sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to,” over and over again with a terrified expression on his face when he realized that the other boy was apologizing as well and didn't actually mean to knock him over.
With a sheepish expression on his face Dick glanced up at the other young man who had bumped into him. A flash of recognition passed across his face. “I'm fine. Are you okay? I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been standing in the middle of the hallway blocking the path,” the boy protested, his hair covered his eyes like he was hiding behind it.
“I-” he recognized the name Sterling and the recognition he had felt a moment before suddenly came with a jolt of realization. “You're one of the Morlock boys,” it was a statement that almost came out a question. “We've met before.” because apparently it seemed that Dick knew everybody. Or at least, by now it probably looked that way to Maggie. A pause as the smaller boy stuck his hand out to shake. “I'm Dick Grayson,” he then gestured to the girl besides him. “And this is Maggie.”
“Are you transferring to Kingston?” he asked, noting that the other teen wasn't in uniform yet. The boy paused, glancing at Maggie curiously when she began to scold a few of the other students. They certainly raised them bold in the South, he decided, before turning his attention back to Sterling.

"...Dick Grayson? I remember you from that Muscular Distrophy ball my parents threw. Didn't Mr. Wayne donate like six million? My dad practically worships the ground he walks on."
Sterling laughed. He had only met Mr. Grayson in passing, not really formally, but he seemed like a nice guy. While he was mulling over this, a note appeared in front of him. Literally poofed into existence and stuck to his face. Everyone would see it appear out of thing air and float through the air briefly, his family didn't bother to hide their magic. He let out a sigh as he peeled the note from his face, and announced who it was from.
"Well, my mom just sent me a note. We're having another charity event. Child's Play this time, playing video games to raise money for kids with cancer."
He thought this over. It was probably an attempt to get back on his good side after cutting him off for a year. They knew he liked video games, especially retro ones, and it was going to have a retro theme. Kind of a welcome back to the family thing, in Sterling's opinion. But it was best to play along, he really didn't want to get cut off again.
"Uhhh...you guys wanna come?"
He hadn't introduced himself to the other person there, a young lady.
"Oh, uh, sorry I haven't introduced myself. Sterling Mortlock."
He would have doffed his cap and given the full intro, had he been wearing it. Civilian clothes kind of prevented that, though.
"Sorry, they were sayin...Well, it wasn't very nice and just plain rude too. As if noone knew what they were sayin," Maggie huffed, frowning slightly as she turned her attention back to Dick. "Kimber?" Maggie repeated as she tilted her head, wondering if people here just liked to say hello and then run off. That would actually make plenty of sense, now that she thought about it. Kimber...Kimber...The name isn't ringing a bell, Maggie thought, trying to think of where she could of met the girl.
"Maybe, but I haven't really been to any social functions here. I mean, there was a neighborhood block party thing a few days ago and then there was when I took some treats to the Ti-Tina. My friend Tinas...place....thing..." Maggie said with wide eyes, working on covering up for her slip of the tongue. She had almost said 'Titans', yet wasn't to go around spreading that around. She didn't want to get into trouble with the leader of the Titans, Robin, due to telling people that shes been to the tower and served some of the titans cupcakes and muffins. She hadn't even met him yet, but shes heard a few things. Like how hes like a ninja and knows whenever something bad is happening like a 6th sense and probably is able to know whenever someone says his name and track them down and Maggie rather not get on his bad side.
Maggie was able to give Dick a weak smile in return before Dick stumbled and fell and then scrambling back up. "Dick, are you okay?" Maggie asked, about to give the guy who bumped into him her coldest look when she heard him apologizing. And apparently the two boys knew each other, though by now Maggie was starting to think that he knew everyone. Probably knew Robin too!
Maggie smiled as Dick introduced her to his friend, giving a slight wave to Sterling as her expression changed to disbelief. Six million?! Fudge, i'm surrounded by crazy rich people! Maggie thought as suddenly a note appeared. No, like literally it appeared out of thin air and stuck to Sterlings face. Maggie stared, looking from Dick back to Sterling and then back to Dick, unsure of what to say or how to even respond to it.
"Did that note just appear? Like magically poofed in?" Maggie finally questioned, making hand gestures on the 'poofed' bit. Sure, Brock had used magic to make her her ice dagger but she was new to the whole magic stuff. It wasn't something she saw everyday, and it was going to take some getting used to. "Maggie Blythe, and was that invite towards the both of us or just Dick?" Maggie asked, unsure. If so, it would be her first charity event, and that would be fun wouldn't it?
The ninja with the sixth sense gave Maggie an odd look while she was busy trying to explain that she had a friend named Tina who may or may not have been a location. In the end, however, the boy figured it didn't actually matter and gave a lighthearted shrug.
It seemed like Starling just wanted to forget about their impressive show of uncoordination. Dick was perfectly fine with that. He wanted to forget about it too. “I'm fine,” he said softly to Maggie with a quick nod.
When Sterling mentioned his mentor dropping six million like it was nothing Dick colored slightly and shuffled in place like he'd rather not be there...or discussing this. “Er...yeah,” he said awkwardly before glancing at Maggie. “My legal guardian is kind of a billionaire.” he explained, though he was toning it down. Bruce was at least a freaking billionaire.
It was then that the note appeared. Maggie seemed pretty shocked by it. Dick was less so, but he feigned at least something that could pass for mild surprise, curiosity at worst. He shared a glance with Maggie, shrugging again, before turning towards Sterling who was telling them what the note said.
“Does your Mom have a vendetta against text messaging or something?” the boy asked with a grin that turned cheeky when he turned to Maggie who seemed unsure whether she was invited or not. “Unless I suddenly became a plural~” he teased. “Anyway, count me in, Sterling. So long as it doesn't end up like the last charity event I went to,” he added sourly.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
