A Date? Wait? A What? [Kaie]

The patrol had not been anywhere near as exciting as it could have been. There had been that run in with that strange man Vincent had no idea about, but that was about it. Everything else had gone without any problems a bit quiet after Kaie had asked him to the movies. Vincent was not exactly sure what she had meant by that nor why she had been so excited about it. Until Raven explained the whole thing to him, and the realization set in.

He was going on a date.

Vincent had been completely cool about the entire thing, and now it all made sense to him. No wonder Kaie had been so quiet after asking him. This was more than just going out to see some movie with a whole bunch of people. He had quickly shut himself in his room after the whole explanation Raven had given him, and sleep eluded the boy once more. So he had distracted himself by working some more on some swords he was making. Eventually exhaustion settled in, and Vincent slept soundly for the majority of the day. Good thing there was no place the boy needed to be or else he would have been in trouble.

The tingle of his crystals woke Vincent with the message from Kaie, telling him what time and where they were going to meet. At the Tower would be easy enough. The problem was now Vincent was getting all worked up about this whole thing. Only a few hours until they were supposed to meet up, and Vincent was not sure what to do. Nothing had bothered him like this since he was actually worried about messing things up. As far as he knew, he had never been on a date before, and now he had agreed to one without even knowing what it was first. At least it was with Kaie, and that was going to be awesome.

It was that thought that finally calmed the swordsman down, and he was able to relax. Time passed and Vincent showered and dressed before heading down. He figured they were going to meet up in the common room since that place was big enough for Kaie. The girl's size had not even crossed Vincent's mind about how it was going to work out at the movies. It was the last thing on his mind anyways. Wearing a black shirt and some white shorts, Vincent waited on the couch. Just a matter of time now.

Kaie had to psych herself up a bit before heading out. She wished she could be like Vincent, totally chill about the whole date thing. She wasn't sure how he was so confident, but it was kinda awesome. Kaie herself was barely keeping her cool. She hadn't let on to Ma that she was going for a real date, just that she was gonna see a movie and maybe hang out with the Titans a bit. She wasn't really sure how to handle the whole dating thing, and was pretty sure Ma would flip if she knew.

Once she was calm enough, Kaie sent Vincent a crystal message and headed out. This was her first real date! To be entirely honest, she'd never thought dating would be a realistic possibility for her. With her size, most guys would be pretty intimidated, and that's not even getting into the mechanics. She was still going to have to figure that out eventually.

Kaie had left pretty early, needing the time to clear her thoughts. She wandered around town for a few hours before finally making her way to the Tower. She'd gotten more used to it lately, easily crawling through hallways and squeezing through doors. Idly, she wondered what this would be like when she was fully grown. She still had another three or four feet in her yet, would she even fit when she was 18 or 19?

The giantess emerged in the common room, seeing Vincent waiting for her. She gave a big smile, straightening up. "Heya Vincent!" She hoped she was presentable, in knee-length jean shorts and a bright blue top. "Lookin good, ye ready to go?" She strolled over, sitting on the floor next to him. Her panic faded away as she got closer. She was still stirred up, but more excited than nervous now. She could tell, this was going to be great.

Vincent leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes as he waited for Kaie to show up. There were a lot of worries running through his head, and Vincent was doing everything he could to calm himself down. He took in a deep breath to focus himself and let his energy surge through his body. In a matter of seconds everything was washed away as he focused on the important matter. He was going to be hanging out with Kaie, and that was always fun. No need to over think anything.

He opened his eyes just as he heard someone coming into the room, and there was Kaie already. Vincent could not help but smile at her as he saw her. So much for all that worry. Vincent just needed to be himself. Thinking all the time like that was just not his thing. There was no fun in it, and Vincent had seen it eat away at people before.

"Hey Kaie!" he called out soon after her. "Thanks! You look pretty great yourself," he complimented as she sat down next to him. Even sitting down she was still taller than him, but she was a giant after all. Vincent had already grown used to it anyways. There were plenty of advantages with being so tall.

"Alright. I figured teleporting over would be easier since we are on an island," Vincent said as he stood up and walked next to her. "So just think about where we're going, and my magic will do the rest," he explained as he held out his hands to her. There would have to be contact for the energy to connect. At least it would not be like that day at the beach. Vincent blushed slightly as he thought about that, but he quickly pushed the feeling away as he started to focus his energy.

[Gaunt]

Kaie blushed a little at the compliment. She was still getting used to any comments on her looks besides the obligatory "YOU'RE HUGE!" It was pretty nice, especially coming from Vincent. She laughed, looking away for a second to compose herself. "Thanks." Vincent hadn't reacted the same way, but he was probably more used to the compliments. It was hard to describe him without the word "pretty" coming up at least once, he probably thought nothing of it.

The sound of squeeing giant had become more common lately, and anyone in that general part of the tower was treated to it again at the idea of teleporting. It was an even cooler kind of magic than invisibility! Okay, invisibility had lots of scandalously fun applications, but Kaie couldn't really use those at her size. Teleportation, on the other hand, was guaranteed awesome. "Cool! Let's go!" Kaie gave him one of her trademark giant grins.

The giant took her hands in his, blushing slightly at the contact. It was bringing back some nice memories of their times together, especially their first meeting. She tried to focus on the theater, but her mind started wandering to their little nap and- whoopswhyareweinhisroom

Vincent could only smile as Kaie squeed at the idea of teleporting again. She really did enjoy his magic, and Vincent was more than happy to oblige. He was ready to go to the movies and see just what this was all about. And he was certainly happy to spend more time with Kaie. Nothing could top that right now.

Kaie's hands were soft as she took his, and Vincent let his energy flow out to encompass both of them. Vincent focused the energy, but all the direction was up to Kaie. A few seconds later and the energy warped around them and teleported them. Vincent opened his eyes and was a bit confused as he saw they were now in his room. Not exactly the movies that he had been expecting.

"Uh... Kaie? I thought we were going to the movies?" Vincent asked her as he looked up at her. The teleportation was led by thought, so that could only mean Kaie had been thinking about his room. Why? He had no idea. Vincent had made sure not to make the connection that deep where they could feel each others emotions and thoughts. Right now, he was just wondering what they were doing in his room.

[Gaunt]

Well, this was awkward. Kaie flushed bright red, trying to think of an excuse. Lucky for her Vincent was naive as all hell, he didn't seem to be catching onto any implications yet. "Sorry!" she said, laughing sheepishly. "My mind were wanderin' and I kinda thought of the wrong place." Hoo boy, she really hoped Vincent wasn't picking up on why she was blushing. This was already uncomfortable enough without him thinking the same things she was.

Hurriedly, she changed the subject. "That magic were really cool, though. Think ye can do it again? I can get us there this time." Kaie focused as hard as she could, not letting her brain away from the sidewalk in front of the movie theater. She had to maintain her focus this time, or they might end up at-DON'T THINK OF THE BEACH DON'T THINK OF THE BEACH- whew, that was close. She managed to get her brain back on track before any more teleportation funnybiz could take place. They couldn't afford to waste too much time or magic power on this, they had to get into Escape Plan on time. And of course they needed snacks, those were mandatory.

Vincent had certainly noticed Kaie's flush, and he could only assume it was from making the mistake. Keeping focused on one location was rather difficult, and that was all Vincent thought of it. Even Vincent made mistakes in his teleportation. So it was only expected Kaie would have some difficulty in leading them to the right place. He probably should have explained the process better.

"Ah. It happens to me all the time. I'll be thinking of getting something to drink and end up out on the shore," Vincent said with a silly grin. As long as they did not make the mistake in teleporting into a wall or something. Now that was something Vincent did not want to experience. Bringing it up to Kaie would only make her worry about it, and that could lead to it actually happened. Best to keep that to himself.

"Yep. Just focus on the right place this time," Vincent said as he focused his energy again. Fortunately Kaie managed to gather her thought right before Vincent released the energy again, and everything was warped around them as they were teleported to the sidewalk across the movies.

She was stunned at how innocent Vincent was. Even after she had turned beet red, he didn't get what was so significant about showing up in his room. Well, Kaie was okay with that. She could explain it to him later, when they had more free time and weren't trying to get to a movie. She'd hate for him to be late for his first big screen showing ever.

In another flash of magic, they were at the theater. Kaie was sitting cross-legged in the middle of the sidewalk, getting more stares than usual. People still weren't quite used to Titans teleporting in around town. She stood up, brushing herself off and smiling down at Vincent. "Perfect!" Kaie scooped him up, setting him on her shoulder and whispering to him. "Les no tell anyone about the first try, okay?"

Kaie took care of the actual business of getting them in. It was a little bit of a trick getting them to allow her, but she promised to sit in the back of the aisle and they caved. Grinning, Kaie crawled through the doors and into the lobby. "So, ye want any snacks for the show?"

So this was what the movies looked like. Vincent had certainly walked by this building a couple of times during his escapades through the city. He had just never ventured inside the building itself. With all the people crowding the front during those times, Vincent figured looking elsewhere would be a better idea at the time. And now he was finally going to get to see what the inside of the place looked like! Tonight just became ten times more exciting.

Vincent simply nodded after Kaie picked him up and set him on her shoulder. He definitely enjoyed sitting up here, and it would make it easier to keep up with the giantess. Otherwise, Vincent would have to float to keep her pace, and that would certainly draw more attention. He doubted Vincent wanted more people staring than the given considering her size. He had to wonder if they thought Kaie was the source of the teleportation. That would certainly draw people's attention away if Vincent did not look out of place as well. Someone with a tan like his and his snow white hair were not a natural occurence in this world. At least not to Vincent's knowledge. There were quite a few people staring at him as well, but Vincent easily ignored them.

There seemed to be some trouble with actually being let into the movies, but Kaie managed to smooth things over. Vincent had no idea why they would not let her in. The ceilings were so that even Kaie had tons of head space. This place was practically built for people of her size. But all of those thoughts were quickly dismissed at the mention of snacks.

"Snacks?" Vincent questioned before he saw the concession stand and the massive variety of candy displayed. His eyes seemed to glaze over at the sudden vision before he zoomed forward in a trail of silver energy and planted his face against the glass. "Oh my god.... So much candy....." Yeah, Vincent needed to get out more.

[Gaunt]

Okay, that was a relief. They had arrived without incident, and Vincent really seemed to be getting into the swing of things. He settled happily on her shoulder. It was a bit of a trick carrying him through the door, but they managed. Kaie took Vincent's silence for agreement, trusting him to keep the whole thing quiet.

The silence stopped as soon as Vincent saw the snacks. He seemed to have a kind of sensory overload when he saw the snack bar. She knew he had a sweet tooth, she just didn't expect him to react like this. It was kinda hilarious. She was barely stifling laughter as he fangasmed about the array of treats. "It's my treat, but don' get too much. Gotta leave some for me, right?" Not that she was one to talk, giants could eat a LOT of sweets.

Kaie caught up with Vincent, prying his face off the glass. "Sorry, he's kinda new. Supers and all that, you know?" People in this town were pretty jaded to that sort of thing. After who knows how long of Starfire drinking condiments through a straw, this was par for the course. "Let's get some stuff and head in, I wanna catch the previews."

Vincent could never get enough of food. No matter how much he wait he could always eat tons more. It was all due to the fact of how much energy his magic burned through, especially when he was using it constantly. Then there was the fact most of his food was materialized from his own energy so it did not give him the full amount of energy back. Real food was the best, and Vincent was somewhat in a daze seeing all that candy before him.

He let out a soft oh sound when Kaie pulled him off the glass but kept his eyes focused on the candy until Kaie's voice snapped him out of his daze. "Heheh... sorry about that. There's just so much candy. Is this what one of those candy stores is like? I've heard about them, but I've never gone into one. Too many people and all," Vincent asked her. If he had gone into a candy store, that incident would have definitely made the news.

Somehow they managed to make it through the concession stand without Vincent eating everything. He would just keep using his magic to refill everything anyways. No one needed to know any of that. Vincent had made sure to order large drinks and large popcorn for them. Even though the large was still rather small for Kaie. Vincent had an idea of fixing that once they were inside. Otherwise, his arms were full with a couple boxes of various candy as he followed Kaie towards the movie.

Vincent was downright adorable when food was involved. Even Starfire and Cyborg didn't get as excited about eating as he did. It was fun to watch, but it also attracted a lot of attention and was starting to get uncomfortable. This was a weird town, people were chill about a giant but gave you weird looks if you pressed your face on a display case.

Luckily, she managed to snap him out of it. She was surprised he still hadn't been to a candy store, though it might have been just so he didn't have a heart attack. She laughed, shaking her head. "No, they got more kinds of stuff. And they're cheaper, too, this stuff is kinda pricey for snacks." She really wished she could sneak food in, but there was no way a freaking giant could get away with that.

Once Vincent had thoroughly looted the snack bar, they headed into the theater. Their seating arrangements were a little odd. Kaie sat on the floor at the back of one of the aisles, giving Vincent a seat on her lap. "And we're in time for the previews, too! Hush up and watch, this gonna be great." She grinned from ear to ear, settling in for some awesome action.

More stuff? Just the idea of a place with even more candy was almost too much for Vincent's mind to process. Good thing Kaie kept him distracted or he would have just frozen up thinking about that. Before he knew it they were in the theater, and Vincent found himself on Kaie's lap once more. Not that he was complaining. Kaie's lap was the best seat ever. There were going to be no complaints from Vincent about their seating arrangement.

Vincent had no idea why Kaie was so excited about the previews, so he set out the snacks before him and looked them over. So many to choose from. Unable to pick just one, Vincent opened them all and began eating one from each one. All of them tasted delicious, and there was no way Vincent would ever pick a favorite.

Remembering that the large popcorn was still small for Kaie, Vincent placed his hand on the bucket and sent his energy flowing through it. The popcorn bucket increased in size to be fitting for a giantess, and he did the same with her drink. Now that was a super sized popcorn and soda.

"Wow...." was all Vincent could say as the previews began. The screen was soooo big and everything was sooo loud. This beat the magical box of pictures any day.
