Hi guys! I was thinking perhaps we could try playing Werewolf (Or Mafia as it's known in some circles) as our characters for a good lot of fun and character building. Keep in mind, this means one of the characters you control, not a role based on the role you play in the game like some people like to do. You would be your character playing the game, basically meaning you base your decisions off who you are and who others are. (Example, Robin is a werewolf and knows Slade is not a werewolf. Robin decides to really push for the werewolves to kill Slade because Slade's a jerk and frankly, quite creepy.) And interact in the main chat like your characters. Sure, it's probably not the most strategical way to play, (don't get me started on people who push werewolf strategy, that stuff is terrifyingly complex.) but this is for the sake of fun, and nothing else really, so if you lose because you stayed in character, no one's going to look down on you as long as you had fun.
Right now, I have a 12 person set-up ready to go, cause I really doubt we'll get more than 12. If we do, I can up the total, but I'm more expecting to have to lower the number which can be done too. If you want to join, all you gotta do is just say you want to and who you're playing as here in the thread! As the game master, I will be your lovely host, Cheshire narrating your deaths and failures with the utmost joyousness.

Don't know how to play Werewolf? No problem! I keep a quick explanation of the rules saved to my computer cause I loooooooove this game.
Say the game starts with 20 players. Around 5 of those players are werewolves, while the other 15 are citizens. At the beginning of the game, the werewolves choose a citizen to kill. Afterwards, it's the "day phase", and the remaining players try to figure out who the werewolves are. They do that by looking at clues provided in various ways by the Host and by the actions of the players themselves. Each player then casts a vote on a member they think is a werewolf. At the end of the day phase, whoever has the most votes is killed, and the players find out whether or not the player killed was really a werewolf. The day phase typically ends when a majority is reached for one player;in this example, 19 players would be alive at the time, so 10 votes would be a majority. Afterwards, the game shifts to the "night phase" and the werewolves privately choose someone else to kill. The game continues until either the werewolves are all killed, in which case the citizens win, or the werewolves outnumber the citizens, in which case the werewolves win.
That's the basic gist of it, but there's usually a bit more to it than that. For example, almost all games have a Detective, who is a citizen with the ability to find out the role of one other player each night phase. There are also sometimes "3rd party" roles that act independently from either the citizens or the mafia, trying to win their own way, but they'll be explained as they become relevant. Or not, if they're secret, but in that case, you don't have to worry about them anyway.

If you're STILL confused after that, then feel free to ask questions.
Within this game we'll be using a pretty standard set of roles explained here. All roles except for the werewolves are part of the town.
Werewolf - Collectively choose a person to kill each night
Townie - Has no powers but their day phase vote
Diseased Peasant - If killed by the werewolves, the werewolves will lose their ability to kill someone the next night while they're busy puking up their dinner.
Troublemaker - The day phase after the troublemaker uses their power, there will be two vote kills instead of one. Can only be used once.
Witch - Has a healing potion that will save someone and a poison potion that will kill someone. Can use each only once.
Guardian Angel - Can protect anyone from a werewolf attack every night. Cannot choose the same person twice in a row or choose themselves.
Fortune Teller - Can choose a person each night and see what their role is.
Cupid - Chooses two people at the beginning of the game to be lovers. If either person is killed, the other person will die as well.
