Annette felt Nayru's leash go slack as the large dog stopped at a door. The villainess looked up from her quantum physics text book to open the door. Her eyes looked down her glasses again reading over the numbers. It was a slow day, no new text (jobs), so Anne had stayed after school to read and finish up work. She had a few side jobs in mind she would love to take a crack at, but Mr. Nos had said no side jobs, but alas a girl could dream.
A small smile formed on her face as she looked at her bookmark, it was an old game card with her villain name on it, she had left a similar one at the museum when she had taken the Staff of Hermes from the statue. She still had the thing, in storage. She didn't really want to sell, it was her first major grab (And she had already named the snakes, Martha and George). Perhaps she could put it in her new room at the Nest.
Annette held out her hand and pushed the door open before turning the page. Her hand moved to her ipod and switched song to a heavier one, before she continued walking. Anne let Nayru lead the way, she knew the way home by now, even with the construction delay that made them go by the football field. The black haired master thief smiled a little in the sun, it was a rare, cool, pleasant winter day for Jump City.

Kaie was overflowing with excitement. She'd just had her first cheer practice in her new uniform! It had gone pretty well, they'd been coming up with things that could put Kaie's size and strength to use. She was big enough to be the entire base of a pyramid, but had to be careful on the throws. She couldn't risk throwing her comrades too high, they weren't as sturdy as she was.
The giantess squeezed through the door and stood up, cracking her back. Crawling or crouching through the halls was always a nuisance, and it was good to be able to stretch out again. She was still in her cheer uniform, wanting to celebrate a little. Sure, it was a little chilly for most, but this was a California winter and Kaie was from Ireland. Even without her superpowers, she was used to it being colder than this by this time of year. She set off for home, eager to get back to Vincent.
Not far from the school, Kaie noticed someone new. She hadn't seen this student before, a girl with a service dog, walking along with her nose stuck in a book. Not a seeing eye dog then. Hearing ear dog? Was that the term? Regardless, Kaie wanted to say hi. The giant changed her pace to walk alongside the shorter girl, ready to wave down at her when she looked up.
Annette almost 'jumped' seeing the large hand in front of her suddenly when she looked up. Anne followed said hand to the giantess that it was attached too. She wasn't dangerous or Nayru wouldn't be looked at her like she wanted to tackle and kiss the girl, but oddly enough she dressed in her high school's cheer-leading uniform. Annette could faintly recall 'hearing' about a giant girl coming to school and cheer-leading, but gossip wasn't the easiest thing to acquire with ear condition.
The dark haired teen closed her book and slipped it back in her bag. She pushed her glasses back up her nose, and moved her headphones to around her neck. It wasn't necessarily required but it was good manners to not 'listen' to music. "Sit Nayru." The black pit bull sat, her tail still wagging as she looked at her master. Anne shook her head, then trained her attention on the giantess, "Um... Hi, can I help you?"
Oops. Kaie often scared people, it was something she'd have to work on. She at least needed to think of a way to greet the deaf girl without startling her, she was too used to people hearing her big ol' footsteps. Maybe angling around would have been better, but heading her off like that might have been a creeper move. Maybe she should have tried just taking heavier footsteps so she would have felt it.
Still, she seemed to have chilled out now. The dog liked her, and that seemed to reassure the smaller girl. Kaie knelt down, still giving a friendly smile. "Oh, jus' sayin hi. I don' think we met before, me name's Kaie. Whas yers?" She really hoped the girl could read lips or something. Kaie didn't know sign language, and if they had to start writing stuff out to talk this could get awkward.
Annette felt the need to smack her forehead, another accent; she was worse than Mr. Nos. The master thief smiled, "No we haven't. I am Annette, Anne if you want, senior, and this is Nayru." She smiled and held out her hand, "Nice to meet you. I can't say I haven't not heard of you. It's a pleasure to meet you, to put a face to a name. If I may ask, how is um cheer-leading?" Catastor cringed, god she sounded like a nimrod. She managed a small, her cheeks dusted a light pink.
"Nice ta meet you two!" Kaie waved down at the dog. It was so tempting to pet the little critter with it wagging like that, but she'd been taught better than that. One does not simply pet an on-duty service dog. "So, senior huh? I jus transferred in, sophomore. Is a pretty nice place so far." Small talk was kinda hard for her. You couldn't really expect anything small to be easy for Kaie, but she hadn't had a lot of practice talking to people. Most folks were too scared of her back home. She guessed everyone was more used to odd supers here.
Oh, but where were her manners? Kaie held out a finger for Anne to shake. "Cheerleadin's goin pretty good. Is fun stuff, takes some gettin used to but fun. We can do all sorta new stuff with a giant on the team, ya know?" Okay, maybe Kaie was bragging a bit, but she felt she'd earned it. She'd managed to get onto the cheer team despite being twice as tall as half the football team. That was an accomplishment.
"I can imagine," Anne could see the look in Kaie's eyes and Nayru was looking at her too. "You can pet her if you want, she won't bite. So what brings a giant to Jump?" Anne could think of a few reasons, Titans were way up there. Witht eh titans on their recruiting spree Jump had become a hub a teenage suppers. Most heroes but quite a few villains too. With all the activity, the city was changing. "So where are you from?"
Kaie paused for a moment. Something wasn't right here. The school generally didn't allow non-service animals in, and you DEFINITELY weren't supposed to pet service animals while on duty like that. "Are ye sure? I thought ye weren' supposed ta do that while they're workin." She didn't start petting until she had confirmation. Kaie had to be careful with animals, gently petting with two fingers.
Anne seemed to be easing into the conversation more, getting a little more at ease. It was a relief for Kaie, she was the last person who should have to be the not-awkward person in the room. "Oh, came here from Dublin. Heard this place were a lot better for supers, an' they were right. Got a spot on the Titans, got a proper-sized home and everythin. It's pretty great here." Kaie was practically beaming. Being a Titan was pretty much the best thing ever, and she could easily be set off gushing about it.
"Working?" Anne paused a moment, she thought Nayru was a service dog. Well hrm, it was a simple explanation for something she didn't want to, or have an explanation. To be honest she hadn't expedited anyone to run into her this late after hours. Fortunately Kaie was offering a an easy cover story. "Well, yeah, but I like to spoil her, I don't let people do it often. She's been doing fine, when I do. Mostly that rule is so people don't go do it on their own."
Anne let herself grin a bit hearing that Kaie was Titan. "A titan that's really cool. Kind of envious being a cape and and all. Powers running around with the titans, what it all like? Do you have a communicator? Have you met all the original five?" Anne looked up at her curious both as a villain and a civilian, so far she had been lucky to stay off the Titan's radar. Civilian friends are fine, except when in costume you end up possibly on opposing sides of the who good vs evil thing. Mentally she shrugged she would cross that bridge when she came to it.
"Oh, okay then." Kaie hadn't heard of that sort of thing, but she supposed Anne would know more about it actually having the dog and all. She'd just roll with it. Kaie lightly petted the pup, smiling down at him. "She's a real sweetie." Naryu seemed to love strangers, and had been practically scrambling to say hi from the moment Kaie had arrived. It was good for the both of them to get that petting done.
Anne seemed as excited about the Titans as she was. It was pretty cool meeting a fan, especially when only a few months ago Kaie had been a fan as well. "Oh, it's lotsa fun! They're a really nice bunch, I mean most of em. Don't know much about Raven, she don't talk much. Kinda quiet, you know? But I met the main five, and they're a cool bunch. And yeah, Cy made me a super-sized T-comm." Kaie pulled it out of her backpack, showing off the mega machine. It looked normal, aside from being frigging gigantic. "I ain't seen too much action since I joined, mostly jus' catchin small fries. Still, is pretty fun."
Anne looked at the device in awe. Such skill, it wasn't even on but she could tell. The thief in her suddenly wanted one, for more reasons than one, but where to get it? She also needed to to disable the tracker, but that could be handled at a later time. She turned her attention back to Kaie and listing. "That's really neat, so who have you gotten to fight? Do you have any other power aside from being a giant?" She turned to her eyes back to the giant's face. "Small fries maybe dull but better them than really bad caps, and have to call in the cavalry. What do you do on patrol just go around looking for danger?" It was interesting talking to a titan, mayhaps in a different life she would have been one, but she was who she was now no going back.
Kaie couldn't really blame her for fangirling over the giant-sized communicator, she'd had the same reaction when she saw it. She guessed that Anne was probably a techie from her reactions, and she was definitely a super nerd. It was something they had in common. Kaie had been a huge Titans fangirl since the team had first made the news, and she still had the posters in her room. "Haven't fought since I first joined. Firs' time I met the team they were fightin' Cinderblock. I pitched in, an' they invited me after." It was still her proudest moment. Her first time doing super stuff, and she'd wrestled one of the Titans' biggest, brutiest villains.
"Well, my powers are really part o' the giant stuff. I'm really strong, like Cyborg-level strong, and I can take a hit or two. Really dense bones and skin and whatnot. Doc says I need it to be able to move at this size." There was a bunch of math stuff involved that she really didn't care to look into. She could leave that to the gadget heroes, you didn't need to know math to have a cape career with natural super-strength. "Yeah, patrols I mostly just walk around and see what's up. Don't see much, I think I'm more a deterrent than anythin else. Nobody wants to hold up a place if they see me comin' in costume."
"Wow you took on Cinderblock? That is amazing. And I can see why you be deter people. It's good to know there are people like you who protect Jump, and keep the city safe for people like me." Cat smiled, "Well I better get going, it's been a pleasure meeting you Kaie. See you around." The dark haired teen waved taking off with her dog. Who would have thought she had a titan at her school. Well life was always interesting.
"Well, not alone. I just helped out the Titans, and there were already four of em on the scene." Kaie smiled bashfully. She wanted to brag, but that probably wouldn't be the heroic thing to do. Better to give credit to the rest of the team, especially since they sorta outranked her. "Glad to be o' service!" She gave a sharp salute at the compliment. Man, this was so cool. She was being thanked by a civilian! It was a huge step up from being one of the grateful civvies.
Kaie waved to the girl as she left. "Later Anne!" She wasn't sure if the girl knew she had said something, but either way she had to get going too. She had to see how Vincent was doing. Hopefully he hadn't gotten too bored in her absence. Kaie adjusted her backpack and went on her merry way.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
