This girl's mood changed as fast as her topics. Gaunt wished she had been right about the superspeed, then maybe he'd be able to keep up with her. As it was, he was generally just waiting for her to slow down long enough for him to catch up. Unfortunately, that meant waiting a bit to correct her misconceptions. She seemed to think he was talking about books, but she'd moved on to another question before he had time to correct her.
Gaunt waited until she paused, holding in a deep breath so he could get as much information in as possible when she started again. She'd figured out the vampire thing, but once someone became a Rat it was only a matter of time. He could deal with that later. When she stopped, he launched into his spiel."Yes, it's a Dracula joke. Yes, I'm a vampire. Reflection is there but blurry, weaknesses aren't for you to know. All the folklore is pretty much wrong, and what the Christ is arithmomania?" Gaunt took another breath. "And you aren't translating books, this isn't a publishing house. Here, lemme show you."
Gaunt snapped his fingers, and a Renfield with a folder hurried over. Gaunt took the folder and pulled out a paper, setting it down on the desk. "These are texts intercepted from known figures in Jump's Russian mob. Transcribe em for us, we got some analysts can crack codes if they're in there. Trying to find whatever we can from these." He dropped the folder next to the computer and handed Maggie a flash card. "We've got a login set up for you, information's on here. Tell a Renfield if you need anything."
Maggie chuckled a bit at Gaunt waiting for her to stop talking before answering any of her questions. She was a motor mouth, she knew that, but she couldn't help but find it a bit funny that some people couldn't keep up with what she was saying. She supposed it was either a side effect of her abilities or the fact that she was just a teenage girl. Could be both, but for know she didn't know. Nor did she actually mind it.
She was grinning brightly as he confirmed most of what she said. Should of known he wouldn't say his weaknesses are, Maggie thought, frowning as he told her that all folklore is pretty much wrong. "Seriously? All of it? There has be some correct stories out there. Quite possibly ancient..." Maggie said, grinning. If such a thing was there, who better to find and translate it than her? "Arithmomania is when a person has a compulsion for counting things. Myths that include it say that if you drop something, like a bundle of sticks or a package of marbles for modern times, you'll be able to get away because they'll be counting." But, in realizing that Gaunt had no idea of what arithmomania is, she guessed that that myth wasn't true.
Maggie raised her eyebrows in hearing that she wasn't translating books, which is what she usually did. She glanced at the paper, listening as Gaunt explained what he wanted her to do. Translate some Russian texts. She nodded her head a bit, unable to look away from the paper. The words were already dancing on the page, moving around to reveal their message.
Now, it was unknown to her on what happened to her physically when she was translating, due to her being too busy translating. She went still, which was something very much unlike her, with her eyes the only part of her moving. In fact, they were a bit disturbing to watch, for they were shaking, shifting. Perhaps vibrating would be the correct term.
She dropped out of this state when Gaunt handed her the flash card, blinking a bit as her eyes settled. "And just type up what I translate?" She questioned, rubbing her eyes.
"Well, a couple things are true, but most of it's a load of crap. Nothing you gotta worry about, though. Pretty sure I'm the only vampire in this city anyway." It was one thing he liked about Jump. With all the high-profile super fights, his kind avoided the place. That meant not a lot of people knew how to deal with vampires, or that they were even real. Gave him an edge in a fight, at the very least. "The counting bit especially crap. A few vampires are grade A nutcases, but most of em aren't counters." That one had always amused him. Every now and then some chump had thrown a bunch of pennies or something at him, it was always good for a laugh.
Even Gaunt was a little creeped out has he watched her translate. He'd seen some weirdness, but this was a new kind. It would take a little getting used to. The vampire kept his poker face, calming his nerves. He'd seen worse than this, he could put up with vibrating eyes.
"Yeah, just type it all out. We'll log the hours for you, so do what you can today. The Renfields will show you a good exit when you're done." Gaunt turned, heading back to his office. He didn't have a lot of work to do today, but Netflix had updated its streaming roster. There was a lot to be done there.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
