As the security guard passed the inlet and turned the corner a shadow appeared on the floor and the person it was connected to stepped away from the window. The person was dressed fully in dark blue and the moonlight coming through the skylights made her appear darker than black. The figure moved in a confounding pattern making their way to the painting gallery.
An angel with coal back wings was falling through the sky. His arm was reaching up at the clouds in the background where the gates of heaven where and two angels, one with a horn and the other with a flaming sword stood looking down. Below the angel was earth and the gates of hell. in the lower right corner was the artist's signature. Da Vinci. Under the elegant frame on a little brass plate was the title of the elegant piece. The Fall.
Cat smiled, if she tried to steal this it would be thermonuclear. No fence would touch it with a ten and a half foot pole. Good thing that her target was something different, thought it would seriously add to her reputation if she managed to steal it. Catastor turned to the other wall, where a Romani hung, it would all be hot, but fortunately she already had a buyer ready for this one.
The small thief pulled a canvas case out of thin air and set it down and pulled out her knife. She counted to ten, taking a deep breath before grabbing the frame from the wall. In less than half minute she slashed the painting out of the frame and had it sealed up in the canvases case and safely in storage; which was about the time it took for the guard to make it to the room.
With a grinned and a wave cat took off running through the museum before finding and breaking the window as she "jumped" and landed on the grass safely. She let loose a cackle as she sprinted across the courtyard for the street. She had missed this.
