There was something off about a park. It was a haven for nature, but, it wasn't. It was too polished. It was too different from what nature really was. This was a masquerade. A lie. A mirage.
Slade went out in public quite often. He'd even passed by the Teen Titans on occasion, and they hadn't even recognized him. It was incredible what a mask could do. Even being one of the only people in Jump City without one eye, he still had a secret identity. For now, he was just Wilson. Slade had become too common of a name. If he used that, it might cause a panic. And he preferred to be able to get his dry cleaning without being attacked by the Titans.
Slade sat on the painted blue wooden bench, leaning back, and taking in the sights. The sky was bright and blue, and the clouds in sight were light and fluffy. It was a wonderful day. It was a day he was taking advantage of. It was not too hot, and it wasn't cold. Slade exhaled through his nose, and closed his eye. Just... relax... Even surrounded by the lying park.
Rose Wilson was the sort of person who didn't like rules. This meant that studying in the library was faaaaaar too restrictive for the youngest Wilson. She tended to do her homework at the park, if she even bothered to do it at all. It was impossible to do her homework around Bido. She had never even tried solving math equations with a chatty dragon talking at her. An essay might have been worse and riddled with the word Bido from absentminded typing. Today she was working on her biology homework. She had to memorize and explain the stages of cell reproduction because there was a test on it tomorrow, but Rose was caught between not caring, and wanting to show the world that she wasn't a failure. Why had she ever let Wintergreen talk her into that two-week summer science course?
The result was that she was distracted by a small group of ducks that had wandered over near her side of the pond. Biology could suck it. The white haired girl wasted a good amount of time teasing the ducks by throwing pebbles in the water near them and watching them scrabble in the off chance it was actually a piece of bread. Eventually the ducks got wise and fed up with her, which made the game a lot less fun until she started tossing pebbles at the ducks. It didn't take very long for the ducks to leave.
With an exaggerated sigh Rose slumped over her biology textbook and resigned herself to fate. Cells were dumb. She couldn't even see them without a microscope! So why should she care? In a moment of impulsivity, which Rose lived by moment to moment, the girl knocked her text book to the side and stood up with a stretch. The little ninja decided she was going to find a soda machine, or a snack truck, or something to make studying better. She threw her book and scrawled notes into her backpack, dusted the dirt off the back of her shorts, and made her way through the park.
The girl stopped abruptly when she saw a familiar figure sitting on the park bench. Rose squinted in the sunlight for a moment, drawing up a hand to shade her eyes, before deciding she needed to get closer. Like the trained ninja she was, the youngest Wilson snuck towards the bench her father was sitting on. One she got a good look at the side of his face she knew it couldn't be anybody else. A devious little smirk flitted across her features as she moved as silently as she could around the bench to stop right behind it.
"Hi Daddy!" she said exaggeratingly loud as she leaned over the back of the bench to grin at him.
He hadn't been relaxing for five minutes, before the sound of his daughter chimed in his ear. He calmly opened an eye, and looked at her. "Hello, Rose." He wasn't going to turn her away. Although she was a disappointment in many regards, she was still his flesh and blood. Not only that, Rose was useful for a few things. "What brings you to my side, today? Can't focus on your biology? Or just wanted to say hello? Both?"
Slade had noticed his daughter earlier. He had even heard her approach. But, he let her have the illusion that she had somewhat surprised him. Why not play along? If it amused her, why ruin her fun?
Rose's face lit up when Slade acknowledged her existence. The girl rocked back and forth on her perch, grinning like an idiot, until the biology was mentioned. Her cheerful expression quickly morphed into one of obvious dislike as she slumped over the top of the bench like she'd just been shot and was now dying. Of boredom. . "Biology is boring," Rose complained, blowing hair out of her eyes that had drifted forward in her dramatics. "I don't care about cell reproduction. They should just keep it in their pants! Or, membranes! Whatever."
"I shouldn't have let Will talk me into summer biology. I could have taken it during the regular year. I don't need to take gym all four years." but she did, and the old butler had known it. Rose was the sort of person who wasn't able to focus without at least some time dedicated to running around like an idiot during the day. "Plus, my sports teams could count for that credit. Are you gunna come to any of my games this year, Daddy? Or maybe the battle bot competition?" she tried not to sound pleading, but it was obvious she wanted his attention. At least, if he didn't go, Will would probably be there.
Like a child, she complained about her work. She even made a rather vulgar reference. How crude. She even complained about her having to take gym. If she didn't have it, she'd end up hurting someone... maybe even herself. Too much time with someone with too much energy was a bad mixture. Just like that, she moved on to her sports teams and battle bot competition. She knew that he normally didn't come to those. He was a very busy man. Plus, she was better when he wasn't there. He was a distraction. To be focused on one's goal, one cannot have any distractions. With how much she looked up to him, he was a distraction.
"I will see, but I have a busy schedule. Things to do... Things to prepare for... Things to stomp back into their holes..."
Rose slumped over the back of the bench at her father's dismissal. He probably wouldn't come to any of them. He never did. It was almost past the point of asking. The child slung her bag over the bench before flipping over it herself and landing besides her father with a cheeky little grin. "Stomping things back into their holes?" she echoed curiously. "That sounds super fun." the girl tilted her head and regarded him quizzically. "Can I help? I promise not to fall behind on my coursework of anything!"
At first thought, having Ravager help seemed like it would only hinder progress. Hm... If he was there, she'd hinder progress. She wasn't completely useless on her own. Slade needed a few things done anyways. "Stomping into holes requires a certain touch. However, I do have something that would be more your speed, Rose." Slade didn't need to look around to know that nobody could listen in on their conversation. "I have a list of things I need. Think of it like a shopping list... Do you think you can handle this, Rose?"
Rose's face contorted into a pout when Slade said that she wouldn't be able to help him stomp things back into holes because she didn't have “a certain touch.” The girl didn't understand why you'd need any sort of touch beyond a good stomp, but she did understand that it was an excuse to get her not to help where she wasn't wanted. It wasn't fair! She could be super helpful!
And then he offered to let her help him. Rose's face lit up like he'd just agreed to go to one of her games. “I can handle that, Daddy!” the youngest Wilson replied excitedly. “What do you want me to get, and when do you need it by? I can do it! I can!”

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
