Man, just when you thought you were in a new neighborhood, familiar faces started showing up. Kara hadn't actually been on duty when she caught a glimpse of none other than Doctor Light, a rather incompetent villain she had had the pleasure of dealing with back in Metropolis as well. She spotted the weirdo in plain sight while in her civilian attire which consisted of a pair of glasses, school uniform, and a brunette colored wig. The guy, despite being in a full costume was just waltzing right through the streets of Jump City like no big deal. He certainly was in a hurry too. Apparently so much so, subtlety was out the window.
Quickly excusing herself from the restaurant she'd been sitting at, Kara found an empty alleyway, and Superman style, burst into costume. She hadn't actually done that before, but she'd been DYING to. It was just so dramatic and metaphorical. Finally getting a chance to do it gave her absolute willies. With her civilian costume stashed away, Kara took off into the sky, looking to track down the electric-light-based supervillain she had spotten not too long ago. It took her a couple minutes, but she found the man several blocks off. How was he getting distance so quickly? None-too-unsuspicious of this, she began stalking him closer, doing as well as she could to not give her tail away. It was pursuing him that she realized the pedestrians around him couldn't actually see him. Something was cloaking him from sight.
Kara made a brief thank you for Kryptonian vision since it was no doubt allowing her to see through this little cloak of his. She was a little amazed when suddenly, thegood bad doctor suddenly zapped a couple blocks forward, like he just walked through a portal or something. Kara had to stop and shake her head a second to make sure what she just saw had actually happened. Low and behold though, he did it again, jumping even more blocks now. Kara gritted her fists together and make sure to keep an eye on him. This technology was all too much for the villain to be doing by himself. He was working with someone or got ahold of something powerful and that was bad. Very bad. Cause if someone was stupid enough to work with Doctor Light, then they obviously were using him for more nefarious purposes.
She tailed the guy all the way into the very ends of the industrial district, nearly leaving town even. What came up on the horizon nearly shocked Supergirl. Partially crashed to the side of a warehouse was a ship of alien material. As she approached it, Kara just had a bad feeling about it in general. It made her feel like she had a fever. Kryptonite. This was worse than she thought. With Kryptonite tech, Doctor Light could easily go from the lamest villain ever to a serious threat to Kara's life as she knew it. Her only hope was whatever was on that ship initially didn't have some awful plans for Earth. She pondered why no emergency vehicles had arrived on the crash site, but it occurred to her likely that the ship was probably cloaked the same way Doctor Light was. She was the only one who knew this thing was here.
Quickly, Kara pulled out her communicator and left a message for others to rendezvous with her in the Industry District for backup before she swooped in, trying to cut off Doctor Light from reaching the ship.
