Teleporting on an empty stomach is not fun. Sure Dante didn't throw up after the porting from New York, but it left him feeling very drained and hungry. He spent the past six months chasing down what was supposed to be an ancient and powerful demonic artifact that turned out to be nothing more than rusty old dagger. He was glad that the whole thing was over, there's still leads he can track down in Jump City but that would have to wait. Dante was starving. He had teleported to a roof of an abandoned apartment building which he used to store his things while he was away. He got to room 552 and removed the sealing spell he had on the door. The spell may have kept vagrants from the room but it didn't keep out the rodents, he made a note to find someplace to stay the night later.
After changing and grabbing a fresh pack of cigarettes he made his way to the Entertainment District. After living off cheap pizza and burgers for months on end he was in the mood for something different. A Chinese place called China King caught his attention, it proclaimed to have the 'most authentic Chinese dining experience in all of America!!!' Even though he read that line many times before, something about this one seemed special, or maybe it was the severe hunger, who knows? He put out his cigarette and walked in.
The restaurant looked like your average Chinese place, Asian decorating, soft oriental music, it was quite, clean and not too crowded. He sat down at a booth, quickly picked out what he wanted form the menu and ordered dumplings, soup and Mongolian beef. It was more than he usually ate but he didn't care. For the first time in months he felt like he could he relax, Dante light up a cigarette, leaned back and waited for his food. Demons, artifacts and magic rituals can wait.
