In the year 2020, in the common era, the world has met many costumed heroes. While the golden age ended some decade and a half past, the men and women who dedicate themselves to protect the common citizen still do their best. Spider-Man, who has gone through some major costume changes since the early millennium, has been joined by Spider-Girl, The New Mutants have been prominent in the media for mutant advocacy, with some rather positive results, and the long-retired Avengers have had their slack picked up by The New Warriors.
But the more things change, the more they stay the same. Lead by a mysterious new Taskmaster, The Thunderbolts have been committing major felonies and acts of terrorism, the US still seems to be under the constant looming threat of war with Latveria, and The Brotherhood of Mutant Supremacy continues to preach their beliefs of a mutocracy, and make their point by attacking politicians and locations of considerable national importance.
The heroes of the new age are prepared to stop them, no matter the cost. Which side will you choose, when the final battle comes?
