She was so not a geek, and if you called her one to her face, Rose Wilson would gladly punch you in yours. But still, here she was, walking into a comic book shop. It was a classic California winter, not too cold, and the white haired girl was perfectly comfortable in a hoodie and sweatpants as she opened the door with a jingle of the bell.

It was crowded inside, but not too bad for a celebrity visit to a local comic book shop. The girl shoved her way into line, getting some glares from the people she cut in front of but no one called her out on it. Unfortunate. Rose was the sort of person who was always on the lookout for a fight.

The line was soooo slooooooow. It felt like she'd been waiting hooooouuuuurs.

Maybe twenty minutes later she made it to the front of the line. It was hard not to fangirl. It was so hard. Rose contained her squeeing, but her eyes lit with a genuine smile as the actor greeted her. It was the guy who had played the main character in the show, and though he'd been really young during the filming, he looked much older now. Rose could still see glimpses of the man he used to be, but this new Jack Hammer looked about as old as her dad. Ew.

“Sign this,” Rose demanded, pulling something out of her pocket and shoving it quickly at the actor. It was the toy model of the psionic sword used by the main character in the show. The man smiled at her, but his eyes widened in surprise when he clicked the sword to it's full height only to discover that it was a misprint. The blue color of the sword was gone, leaving a bright white blade.

“Pretty rare,” the actor commented, as he opened a pen to sign his name on the hilt.

“It was my brother's,” the youngest Wilson blurted out. “He was a big fan. He'd have loved to meet you.”

The man smiled at her, but the smile reflected his understanding in her use of the term was. “And what was his name?”

“Grant,” Rose mumbled, reaching to take the toy sword back now that the man had signed his name. She tossed a quick “Thanks” over her shoulder and hurried out of the store with the toy still in her hands. It was pretty lame her brother was dead. They could have had fun going to an event like this. Maybe.

Shadow

[Shadow]

A dark clad figure stayed perched on a rooftop just across from the comic book store. He'd have loved to walk in there and see the star of one of his favorite movies but he couldn't. Watching from the shadows would have to do for now. At least that's what he thought before he saw a white haired young lady walk out of the store carrying a very familiar replica. He took a step closer to the edge of the roof and watched the young woman carefully before making his move.

A smug grin touched his lips as he took the grappling hook from his belt and fired it at a nearby building. Once latched on, he jumped off the roof and used the wire to propel himself just past the girl. As he passed her, he grabbed the replica saber from the girl and used the grappling hook to pull him to the roof of that other building. With a glance back at the girl he'd just used a five finger discount on, he mock saluted her and said a few words before taking off.

"Thanks for the gift on our first date, Babe."

It had all happened in an instant. Rose was walking out of the store, holding onto the toy lightsaber, when something whisked past and pulled the toy out of her grip. It took her a moment to fully understand the situation, though she didn't waste any time throwing a punch that crossed the path of Red X's wake.

“HEY!” the indignant Wilson yelled at the loser in the skeleton mask who'd just made off with the toy. He landed on the roof with a salute, saying something about gifts and dates that she would pummel out of his jaw later. She didn't waste time with that. Instead she barreled into the nearest building so that she could get up onto the rooftop to chase after him.

There was a lot of shouting, and some dude dressed kind of like a cop spilling coffee, but Rose managed to race up three flights of stairs and push her way out onto the rooftop exit. Some alarm wailed, but Rose was way more interested in the dude running across the rooftops away from her. He wanted to play ninja, huh? Ooo. She'd ninja his sorry butt.

“Give that back!” she shouted as she raced after him. Despite her lack of gear Rose was totally undaunted by the idea of flinging herself between the space across rooftops. Which was probably something of a total red flag. “When I catch you,” Rose managed to threaten brokenly between trying not to die and trying to keep up. “I'm'a! Skeleton! Your face!”

He ran across rooftops, jumping them with ease but it wasn't until he heard that girl's voice that he knew he'd been followed. He skidded to a halt and turned around to take a look, eyes widening with surprise as he saw her attempting to come after him. His surprise quickly faded and turned into a wicked grin. "The only face I see here is yours, Babe. And if you want to play hero maybe I can give you a few pointers." For some reason, he felt like his usual taunts wouldn't work the way they normally did. But unexpected surprises were a trademark of his job.

Giving her his two finger mock salute, he continued to run this time dropping a smoke bomb hoping to lose her. On the other hand, it wouldn't look too good if the girl fell to her demise. He disappeared thanks to the use of his suit and the smokescreen but then he waited. He waited for her to get closer because no one gave Red a gift without getting a thank you. And a thank you she would get. All he needed was her to come 2 more rooftops closer.

"It seems all the girls give me gifts on the first date, but this one is the best."

“I'm not playing hero!” Rose informed him as she bounced from one building to another with the skill of a rolly polly cat on acid. The girl skidded to a stop, rolling across the rooftop with an “Oof” before getting to her feet again. “Give it back!” she added more like a petulant two-year old than a girl of her actual early teenage years.

The doofus in the face mask dropped a smoke bomb. Rose, being the impulsive idiot that she was, charged right into the smoke. It felt thick in her lungs and burned her tongue but she made it out to the other side only to realize she was inches away from plunging to certain doom. Ooo. Drama.

She skidded to a stop, pausing before the gap before backing up into the dissipating smoke, and vaulting across the roof. The girl landed with the grace of a three legged gazelle on his shoulder. That was probably bruised now. She hissed as she got to her feet, rubbing at the sore, as her blue gaze swept the rooftop for the loser in the silly costume.

She stiffened when she heard his voice and whipped around, though she couldn't see him. Where was the voice coming from? “It's not for you, buttface!” Rose's insults could probably do with some improvement. “It's my brother's! Give it back!”

[Shadow]

He watched her movements carefully, her whining making her appear like a child and it bothered him. For some reason he just hated the sound of whining. Maybe it was because it was a girl. Or maybe it was because he just didn't like a sore loser...they reminded him of Bird Boy. His grin faded when she finally got to the rooftop he was on.

Moving silently he approached her and stopped just in front of her. "How about I say thank you..." As the words left his lips, the invisibility fell and he threw a punch straight for her face not as hard as he could but just as fast as he could manage. He didn't stick around to see what wrath that would invoke. Instead he fled to the next building but was stopped short. He wouldn't be able to jump to the nearest building now. He was stranded unless he either went to the street below or used his grappling hook.

As he reached for the grappling hook, a sound caught his attention and he turned to face it. And that was a huge mistake...

This invisible stuff was super annoying. First he wasn't there. Then he was there. Then he was punching her in the face. Rose's eyes widened in surprise before the punch hit. Her face snapped to the side, her teeth tearing the inside of her cheek to shreds, as she lost balance and landed on the ground. Rage tore through the youngest Wilson, thick, red, and angry.

Faster than a girl should be able to move, and with far more resiliency, the girl scrambled back to her feet. She spat a glob of blood and spit to the side as she got her bearings. Then, she charged. To metaphorically link it to a rhinoceros charging would probably be an insult to rhino's everywhere. It was more like a honey badger going after an extremely dangerous snake.

Honey badgers don't care. Neither did Rose Wilson.

She followed Red X with a vengeance, kind of like the night, and didn't stop when he paused to grab something from his belt. “'mafacesmash!” was vaguely coherent before she hit. Like a hurricane. The attack was two-fold. First, she went for the toy, reaching to snatch it away from him. And to make sure he didn't keep it she followed that with a spin kick aimed for his chest.

[Shadow]

He had turned to face the strange sound of nonsensical nonsense that he'd heard but it was a horrible mistake. Just as he'd turned around, the fist of Rose Wilson connected with his jaw and he staggered back a little. But worst of all she was grabbing his replica. Even as he staggered, he held onto the replica lightsaber only letting it go when a spin kick was aimed at his chest. He let the toy go but it was only temporary. He used his now free hands to grab her ankle but it was short lived. Just after he had grabbed her ankle, he started losing his balance and fell backward off the rooftop, dragging Rose with him.

They fell a few feet before crashing through the glass roof of a small factory. A factory that made mattresses.

It was like a child's nightmare. The amount of fluffyness and mattresses was disgusting but it was good enough to break his fall. After having fallen through glass and bouncing slightly when he landed on a mattress, he attempted to stand up and brush the glass shards off of him. His gaze sweeping the area, intent on finding that little brat that had punched him. No one steals from him. No one.

VICTORY! Rose Wilson's hand clenched around the toy, and a smug smile slid across her face. Victory didn't exactly taste sweet, more like pennies, and it wasn't something to be enjoyed for overly long. A hand gripped her ankle, pulling her off the rooftop with the loser in the skull mask.

Something crashed underneath them, it sounded like glass, as the roof closed over Rose's head and the factory swallowed the two teens. The two falling teens were separated by the sheer nature of the factory warehouse. It appeared that luck had thrust them into a mattress factory. The baby Wilson bounced off one of the products, the momentum flinging her off the slightly tilted mattress to bounce to another.

She still had the toy. It was still gripped, triumphantly, in her left hand. The girl's bouncing stopped when she hit a pile of raw stuffing. She sunk to the bottom of it, clouds of fluffy yellow mattress crap coming in from all sides like a plushie doomsday. The girl with the white hair fought, rolling through the filling, until she managed to plop to the concrete floor with a thud and a groan. Her head popped up from the other side of the pile. That was when she saw the Skelenator. The girl's bright blue eyes narrowed as she searched for some sort of projectile.

Her gaze landed on a pillow. Seconds later that pillow was sailing towards Red X.

Landing in a mess of glass and fluffyness was NOT how X had planned to spend his day. Actually, none of this was going as he had wanted it to and it was all her fault. The ebony black of the suit stood out against the stark white of the pillows and mattresses. It stood out enough that the moment his gaze fell on her, a flying pillow was sailing at his face. Ducking quickly, he grabbed the nearest pillow and threw it back at her.

His patience was thin. Never once did he think retrieving his stuff would be so problematic. A matter of a second after he had thrown the pillow, he launched himself at Rose. If he hit her, it would be fast and hard...and they would both probably hit the stack of mattresses behind her if he managed to hit. If not then he'd be the one hitting the stack of mattresses and sadly, being the reason it all comes falling down.

[Silv]

A pillow sailed back towards Rose's face in retaliation. The girl dipped to the left, a smug expression on her face as the pillow passed her like a bullet from the Matrix. But, the pillow was really the least of her worries. There was a body following it. The girl flung herself to the side, catching the side of a foot against her shoulder with an, “Oof.”

She landed on her side, rolling up like a pillbug around the toy clutched in her hand, and skidded enough for one of her arms to turn bright red from the abrasion. Rose didn't expect what was coming next. If she had, she'd have tried to get away from X rather than closer to attack. Maybe. The mattress toppled down, bonking the hapless Wilson like she was suddenly a cartoon character. Rose went down with a squeak.

“I'mmagom murfer yer fce!” the girl threatened, muffled under fallen mattress. She shoved upwards with a shoulder, smirking triumphantly until other mattresses fell on top of the first and forced her down again. This was so lame. And then it got lamer. An alarm blared above them. Apparently the avalanche of bedding had triggered some sort of alarm.

TIIIIIIIMMMMMMMBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

At least that's what one would expect to hear when a giant pile of mattresses was falling down on someone. But that was not the case. After having hit the mattresses and knocking them down, X got back to his feet and headed straight for the toy sword that the annoying little white haired girl had dropped. Hearing her threat made him laugh. She actually wanted to murder him. Now that was priceless.

he was about to come up with some smart mouth response when the alarm went off. Just great. It had completely ruined his opportunity to gloat. "Thanks for the present doll but I've gotta run. Maybe next time you can ask me on a date the right way." With that he ran, heading for the exit when a couple guards showed up just to ruin today some more.

Rose crawled out from under the mattresses that had decided to dog-pile her like she was a hero in a boot-camp movie. The girl with the white hair popped her head out from the bedding just in time for Red X to wittily thank her for the toy. Which she hadn't given to them. It was a good thing he had time to run ahead before the youngest Wilson rolled out from under the pile. Because next time she saw him she was just going to punch him in his stupid skull face. Repeatedly.

The girl jumped to her feet, watching as Red X absconded towards the exit, and a pair of guards entered the scene. Rose didn't pay them much mind, however, as she started running after the thief again. “Nn!” she was pulled back, a hand grabbing her by the shoulder. Rose turned to glare murder at the guard who had thought he could stop her. “I'm going to punch his face in until he gives it back.” the little Wilson warned, shoving her shoulder out of his grip.

“No, you're going to come with us. We're going to call your parents, and you're going to tell us what you're doing on private property.” she was informed.
