Demon Racer

[Feathers]

A 'T' shape tower stands alone on a tiny lone island outside of Jump City shore. Its the proud symbol to young heroes around the world and its also the home to the Teen Titans. A group of teenager who risk their life preserving the greater good around the world. Their home-based to their never ending growing young recruit members . A place that serve as a training ground, a hangout, studying, a hangout, learning new skill, hangout, control and better to their abilities, accepting mission but mostly a place that server as a hangout to teenager heroes. 

A silver hair girl can be spotted in the hallway. Walking in a fast pace with a concern look on her face. She was on high a alert for a cute spiking teenager boy with a yellow cape. So far, her search has come up empty. 

"Hey guys, have you seen Robin?" The first sentence that came out from her mouth, if she comes across with any of her teammate in the hallway.
"Nope..."
"Sorry, no..."
"He's not here..."

And each reply was beginning to lose her patience. Something the beautiful silver bender lacks of. Patience. Drawing a fine line between staying calm and snapping at the next person she comes across. Wondering if she needed to build and an 'App' to GPS Robin or something. Gripping tightly to a folder in her hand. A folder containing details account of a suspect who dub himself as the 'Demon Racer'. A racer who appear out of nowhere, interrupting and intercepting official and illegal motor racing. As mad as he was, he would do anything to win the race and of course by cheating. Using dirty tricks and tactics that cause his opponent to forfeit by force to the point some almost lost their life. The hit close to home as one of her dear friend, who is champion racer, came across with the Demon Racer and almost die. Barely alive. He's currently in the ICU (Intense Care Unit) and doctor told his parents his chance of survival was slim. 

Wiping the tears from her face. She knew she had to do something and get the Titans to look into it. But first, she needs to find Robin..Wherever he was? Making a shape turn to a corner. She walk into someone whose body was like a brick wall. Falling on her butt. Her research was scatter all over the hallway. Reaching her limit. She snapped at the idiot without hesitation.

"WATCH IT! YOU WALKING LANDSLIDE!"

Only to gasp in horror when her blue eyes turn and met a tall, handsome and muscular green eyes boy, with blonde hair.

Cracking his neck, Leonid walked through the hallway.  He wore a pair of black slacks, a white button up shirt, a red vest, and matching red tie.  His shoes were black and well polished.  His socks, hidden by his slacks, were also black.  His black jacket was slung over his shoulder.  He had just gotten back from a meeting with the Dean at the Moscow State University.  It was time for him to get serious about college if he wanted to get his doctorate at a decent age.

In his free hand, he held a book on theoretical physics as green eyes focused on the pages.  He was completely oblivious, accidentally running into Silverwing.  His momentum had managed to knock her down to the floor.  He winced at her words, cringing as he dropped to one knee.  "I'm very sorry about that..." he whispered.  Quickly, he closed his book and used his superspeed to round up all of the scattered paperwork in time to catch his jacket before it fell on the floor.

"Here you go." he said, handing his fellow Titan the stack of papers.  He gave an apologetic smile, but he noticed that her eyes were misty.  She had teared up and was wiping them away.  "Did I hurt you?" he asked, his voice brimming with concern.  He didn't like hurting people with his strength, especially intentionally.  His eyes closed, his face filling with shame.

Slobo's career was looking up. He wasn't as afraid of going back to the lab as he'd used to be, and was starting to do more Titan stuff. Once he was an established hero, the old man couldn't make much of a move against him, right? Even he wouldn't try that. Of course, he still had to keep up a secret identity. He'd been refining his holograms, and had a new one ready. A bit of a bad boy look, a rough and tough redhead.

The Top Teen strolled the halls of the Tower, trying out the new look. He wondered if anyone would recognize him? Either way, it was going to be a nice surprise. He was snapped out of his reverie when he heard voices ahead, one of them very familiar. Kimber Silverwing was here! And from the sound of it, she was pretty mad about something. That girl could have one hell of a temper. Slobo trotted towards the sound of the voice, eager to surprise her with his new look.

He hadn't expected to see a tall, muscular redhead helping her to her feet. Slobo felt a twinge of something he wasn't too familiar with. It didn't feel all that pleasant. Not knowing what to do, the Czarnian inserted himself into the conversation. "Hey Silverwing, how's it going?" It was a moment before he realized he still looked like a complete stranger. Sounded like one, too. He was pretty proud of his new voice alteration, it would do wonders for this secret identity funnybiz. Slobo collected himself, willing the hologram to turn off and turning towards the larger boy. "Don't think we've met. I'm Slobo."

First a handsome blonde prince and now a handsome red head devil bad boy. What could a girl ask more? And if this was animated world, cute pink heart would be popping out of nowhere. Floating around her head while she drools at the same time. Honestly, this single Titan head was so high up in the fa-la-la land. It would take an atomic bomb to call her back to earth. And she swear she could a song playing. That sounded like 'It's raining men' sung by the Weather Girls. Then again, she could be dreaming and she needed to pinch herself to see if it was true. To be rescue by two handsome guys at the same time, who has come to aid their damsel (her) in distress. 

Sigh.....

Too bad her daydream came to halt, When the red head dropped a bomb on her and turns out to be Slobo in disguise. Sarcastically. She wonders to herself,'What next? The blonde prince was Control Freak in disguise too'  The idea almost make wanna puke in her mouth, with goosebumps  jumping out of her skin. Talk about a turn off. There was nothing wrong with Slobo or his Czarnian appearance. His handsome, sweet and adorable in his own funny ways. But as times goes by, a lot of things had been happening between them. She has been dropping signal and stuff but....to make it short and simple, she looking forward to see someone else for a change.

"Ahem, I'm fine..." She got up without anyone help and regain her composure. "No, I should be apologizing. I didn't see where I was going? Sorry what I blurted earlier..." She blush as she apologize before taking the folder off from the handsome blonde hands who looks rather familiar. She wonder for a short moment. Where has she seen him before? Hmm, maybe one of those handsome model from GQ magazine? "And Hi Slobo! Looks like you got your hologram disguise down huh? Nice" She smiles. "Now if you gentlemen would excuse me. I'm off to hunt down Robin? Wherever that idiot he is?"  She hated the thoughts of it.

The newcomer didn't really have all that much effect on Red Star.  He had never seen him before, but the alarms were not going off.  So, in theory, he should've belonged there.  His main focus was the girl he ran into.  He shook his head.  "No need to apologize.  I should've been watching where I was going."  It was then that the newcomer dropped what seemed to be his holographic projection.  A highly useful bit of technology.

Taking the alien's hand, he shook it firmly.  "Hello, Slobo.  I read your file.  I'm Red Star.  A pleasure to meet you."  His attention then moved back to the young woman as he released Slobo's hand.  "I'm sorry.  I didn't catch your name, however."  It seemed like the Titan he knocked down was on some sort of mission.  She spoke of Robin and he turned his head to look at her, standing at his full height.

"Robin isn't here.  He's on patrol with some of the new Titans.  But, I couldn't help but see some of your papers as I was helping you gather them back up.  Demon Racer.  That's a pretty high priority target.  You really think you're up for the task?"  Gears started turning.  Taking down the street racer would look pretty good for the Titans.  It'd look especially good for the Titans that were responsible for the bust.

[Gaunt]

"Thanks." Slobo did his best to suppress a blush. Compliments from Kimber had a way of brightening up his day in ways that he didn't fully understand yet. A lot of emotions were still a mystery to the Top Teen. In the lab they'd tried to teach him to suppress his emotions. It hadn't gone well, but it had left him a bit stunted in some ways.

The big guy had a strong handshake. Slobo was pretty sure he could sense some sort of super-strength in there. "You too chief." Red Star sounded pretty familiar. He wasn't sure what he thought about his file being read, though. Maybe that was a normal thing among Titans and he was the odd one out for not doing it, but it seemed intrusive to him. He'd have to ask Kimber later how normal that was. Well, when she wasn't busy. The silver-haired heroine seemed to have some definite plans for the day. She seemed a bit upset with Robin, too. What had their stern leader done this time?

And he was spying on Kimber's papers too? Maybe this guy was just a snoop. And was it just Slobo's defensiveness, or was he really dissing Kimber? The Czarnian raised an eyebrow. "Silver can handle herself pretty well." He was curious about this Demon Racer though. Slobo hadn't heard too much from in his junkyard, but he did like fast cars. Fast vehicles in general, really. He turned towards Silverwing. "But if you need a hand, I'm all for some racing." The Top Teen flashed a grin. "Got the Slobike, or could whip up a car." He really needed a new name for that thing. Slobo kept telling himself that having "slow" in the name of your vehicle sent all the wrong messages, but sadly he was just no good at naming things. Maybe he should ask Kimber later. She'd come up with his name, after all.

"Seriously...." 

Silverwing growl when she heard Robin was out on patrol. Just as she was about to ask, 'When Robin will be back?' Red Star stopped when he pointed at her files. Biting her lips. It wasn't a big surprise. That a senior titans, like Red Star, would looked at her that way. Intermediate Titans level. Rubbing the back of her neck. "Well, yeah. That's why I needed to talk to Robin about. I need him to..." Before she could finish her sentence. Slobo cuts her off and steps in. Barking at Red. Defeating her honour...sort-ta, in his usual adorable cute kinda ways. "Thanks Slobo. You didn't have to do that." She smiles. Feeling touch by his act and words. Too bad she couldn't lend over to give him a kiss. Yeah sure, she could defend herself and kick-some-ass. But Red was still right! This high level mission, was way more then she could handle for a intermediate level Titans. Probably, even for senior titans alone. 

Wait a minute! Red Star! Did the blonde just call himself Red Star? The Red Star?! Of course! The blonde hair, the bright blue eyes plus his Russian accent. There was no doubt! He was, indeed, 100%, the one and only Red Star! And why did it take so long to register in her brain? She already mention Red Star name several time. Good thing, she didn't say it out loud. Or else she would had look terribly....stupid. And boy, he was much cuter and hotter up close. 

"As I was saying...Red Star, I know I might be in and over my head for this mission. But if you would just give me a chance and your permission. I know I can do it!"

Silverwing went on to explain. Why she wanted to take on this mission? Yes, true and again. Undercover mission was waaaay out of her league. But this mission was important to her. A friend, someone whom was dear to her got hurt by the jerk. A nut case rider who call himself the 'Demon Rider'. And she wasn't gonna just stand by and do nothing. She was going to put her foot down and deal with that  a-bleep h-bleep one way or another. Well, Of course, she didn't tell him that (the cursing part). If she did, Red wouldn't had let taken on the undercover mission.

That's right. To her surprise, Red Star gave her, his permission to proceed with the mission. Under one condition, the Titans golden rules, she must be in a company of a senior Titans and with a team for backup.

Few days later....

In a dark underground part of Jump City, an illegal race was taking place in an old abandon racing arena ring. Fill with people from all walks of life, who was into gambling and other illegal-kind-of-fun. Their cheers and cursing was drown by the loud noise...bikes. Roaring and racing around several lap around the abandon racing arena ring.
 
"It's a close call, folks!" The host was holding his breath along with the spectators. All eyes was on the finish line. Until a silver and blue bike crossed it, a bike that cross the finish before the rest.  "SHE DID IT AGAIN! HONEY HURRICANE WINS AGAIN!" The crowd went wild. Cheering their lungs out. Cheering for the biker, known to be Honey Hurricane. Taking the checked flag before stopping her biker. The female biker took off her helmet. Letting her long straight brunette hair fall in the most elegant-sexy-style. Turning to the crowd. She gave them a wink before blowing a flying-kiss. Causing some of her mad fan goes wild. Attempting to catch her imagery kiss, if it was damn real.

'Boys' She thought.

Rolling her eyes. "Would you believe folks? This sexy biker and her team came out of nowhere. Winning ever bet, challenger and rookies-competition several weeks in a row! Who are there? Where did they came from? Does somebody have her number?" The brunette snicker when she heard that. "Give another round of applause to Honey Hurricane from Red Meteor" The brunette returns a wave and bow to her crowd. 

"Well, somebody is enjoying this..."  (OCC: This could Slobo or Red Star. I leave it up to you) The brunette heard a voice that was coming from her com-link. Hidden carefully in her ears.
"What?! No..." She unzip her biker jacket. Revealing a white singlet hidden underneath. 

Again, driving all her male (and female) fans raving going mad.

"Yeah.  Just remember that cash isn't yours to spend." the Russian Superman quipped over the channel.

He was positioned on top of a radio tower, the highest point in the district.  From here, he had a bird's eye view of the entire 'track'.  He had been feeding Silverwing information on the race from the start.  Keeping an eye out for their target.  Who was still a no-show.  Frustrating enough as it was, the group of Titans was making headway.  They had enough information on all the key players in the illegal motorcycle racing circuit to put everyone behind bars for a very long time. 

However, the Demon Racer wasn't something the JCPD could handle by themselves.  When the villain finally showed himself, they would be ready.  This was a perfect blending of Titans strength.  Slobo's mechanical skills.  Red Star's resources.  Silverwing's knack for alternative identities.  But, that was not all of their strengths.  That was yet to be showcased.  It was an intricate trap. 

Once more, he peaked through his binoculars, eyes running over Silverwing's figure.  "You should incorporate leather into your everyday outfits." he mused.  His gaze then moved out to the crowd.  Running over each face.  Honey Hurricane's success had brought in a lot of new faces.  Was one of them Demon Racer?  Only time would tell.  They couldn't dare blow their cover at this point. 

They were in too deep to step out.

Slobo had been 1000% on board from the get-go here. Being a hero, going the clever route, seeing Silverwing in a leather jumpsuit, making sick fast bikes, there was nothing about this plan he didn't love. Everything was going well so far. Silverwing was a good biker, and Slobo had packed her bike with enough low-key gadgets to make sure she wouldn't lose. Fast engine, good stabilizers, a sensor array, and a backup AI to catch anything she might miss. With all that, Honey Hurricane was elevated from good to downright untouchable.

The Top Teen rolled his eyes at Red Star's admonition. They were professionals here, did he really think they didn't know that? Besides, it wasn't like any of them needed it. Kimber was filthy rich, Slobo lived rent-free in a junkyard and didn't need to eat, and he was pretty sure Red Star had some sort of deal with the Russian government. Heck, if it came down to it, Slobo could patent a gadget or two and be set for life.

He had to agree with Star on one thing, though; Kimber made that outfit look good. "Well, somebody's enjoying this-" He stopped short, struggling to keep his composure as Silverwing unzipped a bit. How did she always know how to fluster him like that? Slobo pulled it together and crouched down to inspect the bike, playing the part of team mechanic. "Any sign of this Demon jackwagon yet?" He was chomping at the bit to see how the bike's other features worked out. He'd packed in a few non-lethal weapons, designed to disable vehicles and capture their drivers. Couldn't this guy just spring the trap already? He needed to see this stuff in action.

"Aww...and I thought I was going to put that money into good use. Like, buying more leather outfits..." Silverwing playfully replay. Going undercover as Honey Hurricane, the racer. Inspire from heroine cartoon series. She used watch it as a little girl. So it wasn't a surprise when she came with the 'Honey Hurricane' name. 

And she never realised how much fun racing could be. The thrill and the adrenaline, with the wind in your hair. Speeding down the race track in 100 miles per hour. Honestly, she might just take this up as a hobby after this whole undercover thingy was over. Well, she did spend a fortune on her bike, including the sexy leather suit. And they come cheap. 

"Any sign of Demon Jackwagon yet?" and Honey Hurricane sign in reply
"No...." Taking off her leather jacket. Sending her fan the crowd to the roof. Causing even some to faint at the sight of it. She hung the jacket over her biker before pushing to the Red Meteor garage. "We have been here for weeks now. I wonder if the tips about him being here are actually accurate..." If it wasn't, the team could had waste value time and money, where the demon racer could be causing chaos elsewhere. "Wait! Scratch that! I see him. I spotted the suspect..." Honey reply under a low hush whisper. Up ahead, she spotted a tall, muscle teenager boy with grey color skin and black spiking hair. Known as no other as, Johnny Rancid.  An essentially an evil vandal and punk motorcyclist. Well known villain to cause chaos and trouble around Jump City streets, and their no 1 suspect as the demon racer.

He didn't mean for these things to happen.

Chaos, catastrophe.
He totally meant for these things to happen.

"Yeah, yeah, so she rocks the leather, big deal." Rancid crouched in his black jeans and matching, metallic high-tops, having finished all final checks and reduced to waiting for the race to start by polishing the bodywork with his breath and fist, then examining his bored, obstructed face in the reflective metal.

Rancid sighed, and swept a hand through too-long-for-your-parents-exaggerated-Robin-backspike tousle, then tugged on his silver-knuckled, black leather gloves and spun his helmet on a finger aimlessly as the announcer did his thing, rolling his eyes at the crowd's exuberance. A matching red bandanna covered the lower portion of his face, under a pair of thin dark racing shades.

"Awready gotchyer number, Honey; right here." The steely-blue-eyed brute sent a lazy grin at Hurricane as he approached her almost as soon as she'd made eye contact. He tipped his shades down a moment to wink cheekily at her, and a two-fingered salute belying his intention to leave her in his 1st-place dust, never leaving his temple.

"Seriously, run your little automatic toy as fast as you can, and you might keep up with me." Her bike was actually a pretty nice ride. Time would tell if he would tell her as much, and possibly alleviate the deathglare he was likely getting from Slobo from insulting the background teen's genius work.

The built, towering, but by no means gangly teenager legged around the leather-bound lady in question, circling her like a shark, and with the easy swagger of one who hardly, if at all, knew defeat on the track.

Or off-road, if he was really the Titans' target this evening.

The extravagantly tattooed racer was doing a final check on his ride. A red makeshift muscleshirt with castaway fringe at the sleeves due to ripping adorned his torso. A white shock of a skull motif was splashed on over his left pectoral. It made him feel like a pirate, just without the crossbones made for a change from his usual black, but a black leather sheriff lightning spring shoulder holster was strapped on like a vest from which his laser pistols hung, close to hand, and to be released with flourish.

All in the "Demon Racer" job description, for when he took this stupid gig on.

Whatever.

Point was, it was paid fun for tomfoolery.

He would have to be sure never to say 'tomfoolery out loud'; it was lame.
