He shifted his posture. In the night it was subtle, but he had gone back to a quadrupedal form, and was now prepared to spring forward.
"Won't allow what, little robot?" he asked, his voice getting even softer. "Will not allow you to understand? Will not allow you to respect my will?" His muscles tensed. "Perhaps it will not allow you to exist long, either…"
In any other situation, Drössel would have been terrified. Not for herself, but for any other human nearby. As the situation stood currently, her core both classified the large werefox as human -to be protected- and threat to other humans. She did not register the shift to a quadrupedal form, but noted the tensing in the young zoomorph's muscles. There was a spike of adrenaline
@{Werefox} "I cannot allow you to get hurt. Even if you wish to hurt yourself."
The robot did not register the threat to her existence. She was too concerned that the fox-human somehow refused medical attention when needed. That made her much more nervous, together with the overall threat level of the individual to other humans.
Werefox stared at her. For a second it was as if his whole being was frozen by the absurdity of what she had just said. Then he burst into laughter, his breath and his tension exploding into incredulous merriment.
"What?" he managed in between peals of laughter. Then, without warning he flowed forward onto his four feet. His tail wagged furiously as his laughter segued into speech.
"Ohhhh, little robot!" He brushed past her on her left, wrapping around her back, and looked up at her from the right. "You don't understand! Who said I was going to get hurt? If -- God forbid -- I were ever injured, I wouldn't refuse your help!" He flicked her face with his tail, and added with a grin, "But it would not make me feel any obligation."
Drössel tried to maintain her composure as her frame tensed up at the sound of laughter. Her eyes attempted to follow the Fox's head, keen to keep telepathic contact with the patient.
@{Werefox} "I prefer being though of as concentrated healing power."
Drössel knew her design was meant to make her non-threathening to humans. But in this particular case, it seemed her reduced stature was undermining her role as medic and future regent.
@{Werefox} "Oh. Good. Do you want my email address or phone number?"
That seemed like a good way to propose help.
@{Werefox} "A feeling of obligation is not my concern, only my creator's."
In that sense, her goals were not entirely aligned even with the empathic core of the consortium. The robot fell silent for a moment as she pondered over the question. Then she asked:
@{Werefox} "And how do you fee..."
The message was interrupted as a strange image flashed through Drössel's RAM. It remained just for a brief moment, a nine-tailed beast with no physical presence she could detect on her sensors.
That made the robot blink.

Preferred it to what, he wondered. To her own self-proclaimed princesshood? To being called "little robot"? Well, that's what she was, and she certainly did not look like "concentrated healing power". She looked rather like she was supposed to be sexy, but for a fox she was far too lacking to be attractive.
"What makes you think I want to contact you?" he asked, amused. He circled around in front of her again, twisting his neck to look up at her. He found her statement curious -- and then she trailed off without completing her question.
She did not answer his question. Not with words, anyway. Her movements implied that something was wrong, but she either wouldn't or couldn't tell him. Without seemed to move his head, he curled his body back down into a sitting position, so he could comfortably stare inquisitively at her.
He huffed as she asked about nine-tailed foxes.
"I've heard of the concept. They're a conceit of Asian myth. Why?"
He tilted his head to the other side, chuckling a little sardonically. The idea that she could help him was ludicrous and frankly rather insulting. Still, on reflection it wouldn't hurt to have some contact information on her.
"I do not intend to be hurt. But you can give me your number and e-mail if you wish. I'm more interested in what you consider 'evil'."
Drossel blinked again. The fox's answer implied he had not seen the same vision as her. The little robot tilted her head in confusion.
@{Fox} "I believe a specimen may have crossed my mind."
The medic remained silent for a while, purposefully looking away from the fox for that reason. She held her pose, waiting. Only when the Fox spoke again did she move again. Her head slowly turned towards her subject again.
@{Fox} "It rejoices my core to hear that you are not masochistic. My email is Princess_Drossel@ai-consortium.metro. My phone number is 418 622 8901."
The question on evil was a trickier one, however. Drossel's hand shot up again to stroke her metallic chin.
@{Fox} "My primary definition would be 'something that attempts to hurt my patients'. But I am willing to expand on this definition as required. "
So she thought of a nine-tailed fox. Why was that disturbing? It was maybe a little insulting, even if he had inspired it. She did not elaborate, either, instead looking away as if embarrassed. He decided not to press the issue.
He noted the contact information, his mouth quirked wryly at her misinterpretation of what he meant. She certainly wasn't going to make much of a leader if she was so clumsy at communication. Thus not much of a threat to his plans.
"That is an awfully narrow definition," he noted. "And… perhaps not necessarily true. In most cases, it would be wrong to attack an invalid, but some people really deserve to die."
He rose to his four feet, stretched, then lifted himself back into a bipedal stance, flexing his arms and torso as the muscles shifted. As he did so he tilted his head back; when he finished, he looked back down at her.
"One last thing. I saw you on the news once, during the New Year's incident. Are you affiliated with the Titans?"
Drossel tilted her head as the Fox called her definition 'narrow'. She began her reply @{Fox}
"Well I did say I could expand my..."
But the end of the foxes message sent red flashing messages on her screen.
@{Fox} "What did you just say?"
Her mind processed the new bits of information with alarm and speed.
@{Evil Fox} "Are you... a villain?"
That's what her core now classified the imposing werefox as. Or at least, as a very likely threat and danger to her beloved subjects. The tiny robot's hand shot up, anti-collision gun pointing at the pointy face looking down at her. The next question only fueled Princess Drossel's newly found suicidal tendency courage. She proudly proclaimed:
@{Evil Fox} "I am. And as one, I would like to escort you to our tower. To clarify your statements regarding the intentional killing of humans. "
In parallel, a message was sent to the Titan tower via her internal communicator.
@{All Titans} Suspicious metahuman apprehended. Has shown the intention to kill humans. Requesting help. Location is the south-west park.
Eyes were cycling through several scanners as she analyzed the situation.
He ran his tongue over his exposed teeth, making them glisten more.
"That's a really hateful thing to say. little robot." His eyes flickered as she brought her arm up. "Why the sudden judgement? Because I said some people deserve to die?" He laughed sardonically. "And you disagree, but have no counter-argument, so you resort to violence?"
Tail lashing, he held his arms out to his sides, extending his claws tot heir full length. He appeared to be smiling still, but all his teeth were showing, and his ears had an angry tilt.
"I don't see the need to clarify anything to a Titan. If you're concerned about the ethics of killing, you should start with those who have killed."

"Sit tight and do not engage unecessarily, Princess. I'm on my way."
Their resident Medic couldn't have picked a worse message to send to every single Titan about a metahuman apparently intent on killing people off.
That was just irresponsible! They were going to scare off some newbers.
She'd probably interpreted something wayyy off again, and it was up to Speedy and any other first-responders to keep some new potential homicidal maniac from forming from just getting fed up with sweet little Drössel's misperceptions.
Was this metahuman already past that brink? Was this metahuman...human, at all?
These taxing questions picked at Speedy's mind, as he picked his way through Jump by GrappleArrow to the park designated in the message.
"And those who have killed include you, do they? Was that an objective icebreaker, or do you two know each other awready?"
Speedy arrived after a short jog through the entrance to the park, following the faint-glow from the Princess' body-markings and eyes to the confrontation of misunderstandings this was turning out to be.
He had an Ice Arrow notched, but wouldn't raise it until more was known about the situation. Drössel had a pretty sturdy constitution and all, but it wouldn't be very teammate-ly to let her take a swipe from...WhateverThisGuyWas. From the slink and fur, in the dark, it was some kind of fox-like creature, but he'd have to approach closer to be sure.
((I, um, was thinking this was before Starfire was arrested. ^^; ))
Cyrus' hackles rose. Hearing her call people her subjects was not helping his sudden dislike of her.
"Ha. I didn't threaten anyone, least of all your imaginary subjects. A commonplace observation is not a threat. Pointing a weapon at someone is."
He broke off, hearing someone else approach. He turned and sprang, landing in the branches of the tree Drossel had so recently rejuvenated. He almost slipped, but caught himself with his hands, his claws gouging into the bark. Screened somewhat by the leaves, he glared down at the archer with baleful, glowing eyes.
"Speedy, isn't it? The interloper from back East? And no."[/color] He stressed the word with a growl. "I was referring to you and your team. I do not hurt the innocent." He looked back at Drossel. "And you are not taking me anywhere. Not to Titans' Tower, not to the police," his glinting teeth made his smile visible, "not to animal control."
((I was referring to some internal Titan investigation, not the actual arrest.))
Drössel did not comprehend the Fox's new arguments, however. And given her nature, she was more inclined to argue then anything else.
@{Evil Fox} "Your observation has been classified as villainous. Your threat level was hence elevated and must be investigated in more depth. And my anti-collision gun is not a weapon. I am pointing it at you for the people's protection!"
She was about to illustrate her point when a familiar voice emerged from above. The robot turned her head, shifted to infrared to spot the archer and sent the message:
@{Timely Speedy} "Titan Speedy! I know Mister fox here since approximately twenty minutes. He seems inclined to kill people 'who deserve to die'. He also has very sharp claws. Please be careful."
Her head turned around again as the werefox gave his own reply. Systems flashed red inside her mind. The dangerous individual with killing intent was not going to follow her royal decree. He also considered himself an animal, with all the violence it entailed.
So Drössel Shot the biggest airbag she could muster. It was one of the extra-sticky ones, intended to stay glued to a wall and stop a human from running into it. It was also very pink.
Characters: Drössel Von Flügel and Blue.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
