It was a good week for potential recruits. Just recently, a brand new super with some sort of explosive powers had torn through a gang hideout near the docks. His contacts had managed to gather a bit on her, a girl who went by Kali. He knew it was a mythological thing, but for some reason it just made Gaunt think of The Great Khali. Not needing to sleep left him way too much spare time to watch wrestling.
There was a page from the surveillance room, one of the cameras had picked up an intruder. Gaunt made his way down, and his jaw dropped. The girl who'd wandered into the old subway tunnels perfectly matched the description they'd been given. Right age, right costume, right swords. She'd just fallen into their laps! And, apparently, gotten lost. She was wandering around aimlessly, looking very confused. "Mark her location, keep it up to date. I'm heading out." Gaunt fastened on his wristband with the mini-tablet that held a 3D map of the tunnels, and headed through one of their secret exits into the old subway.
It didn't take long to find her. You moved a lot faster if you knew where you were going. Gaunt didn't bother going invisible, not wanting to give her more of a jump scare than needed. Explosive powers were dangerous, especially in a network of underground tunnels. His crew had done a lot to maintain them since moving in, but there was only so much maintenance that could be done without being noticed. He set a path so he'd be coming from her front and headed to meet up.
The tall, scrawny Nosferatu stepped out into one of the main tunnels, right into the beam of her flashlight. He gave a wave, heading towards her. "Well hello there. You that Kali I been hearing about?" He hadn't brought his gun this time. The less he put her on edge, the better.
