“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...” A man dressed up as a ringmaster. Appear in front of the screen television. “I am Freakshow! Ringmaster of Circus Gothica, where your nightmares will come alive” Wearing black goth makeup. Dress in a fully traditional ringmaster costume with taste of goth. Dark and gloomy. He started to introduce his circus stars in rhythm.
“Circus Gothica, where the clowns never smile.” A gloomy clown with sharp teeth appears, howling with demented laughter.
“Circus Gothica, come and get your freak on, with real freaks” Next, a heavily pierced man in an iron mask appear next.
“Circus Gothica! Is finally here in Jump City…” His crew quickly gather behind him. As he twirls his staff with glowing red orb on top of it. “I dare you to come and cross over to the dark side.” They strike a fabulous post before the television ads ended. Screening all over again from the beginning.
Circus Gothic promoted a week of show with free admission. And Kimber Lee Fowl was one of the several teens who jumped to attend the circus free admission. She couldn't be more thrills and excited. That it got her into the mood to dress up in Goth. Yes. It was a little daunting at first for the young heiress. But with a little research and lots of window shopping, she found her calling in Victorian Goth style. I mean, there are no such thing as in too much lace.
Finding her seat in the show-tent. She jumped, when the light went off. Leaving only one spot light on in the middle of the circus ring where Freakshow appear. Slowly, stepped out from the shadow and bow.
“Greetings, fellow outcasts." He raised his head up and looks up to the crowd. "I am Freakshow, your master of ceremonies. Are you ready to smile, relax, and forget all your troubles amid the pleasant diversions of the circus?”
“YES!” Kimber L.Fowl cheered and yell in excitement while everybody said. “NO!” A couple of Goth kids, who sat beside her (Kimber) gave her an odd look. Making her feel unwelcome and small. All she could do was give sheepish smile in apology.
“Then you've come to the right place! Prepare to be disturbed and appalled by the bizarre and abnormal world of Circus Gothica” The spotlight started to move away from the ring leader and pointed to the circus ring entrance. Greeting a woman, crawling on the rope like an insect. Making the crowd gasps. Next, came a man balancing on a ball while juggling skulls at the same time. Follow by a heavily-pierced woman with an iron, spiked wheel, and an incredibly tall man in a skeleton suit emerges. Putting on a little circus parade around the ring. Standing in the middle of the ring. The Ringmaster who started to twirl his staff and perform magic trick. Mesmerizing everyone. Enough to make the crowd cheers more and louder and louder after each performance. But things started to change when the Ringmaster started to rhythm..
"Now fellow outcasts..." "Listen hard and listen well." "Keep your eyes on my red glowing orb" "Show me your true colours"
Kimber started to feel lightheaded when she stare at the red orb. Deep down. She knew something was wrong. But she can't tear her eyes away from it. Freakshow red shiny red orb. It was mesmerizing. That she dropped her glamour charmed spells. Altering her appearance. Altering from a brown head with green eyes into. A silver head with blue eyes and pale color skin. "And when I say 'colours'?! I mean all black."
"Make the whole world see your dark side!”
"And serve me as your master, Freakshow!" "Repeat after me!"
In a trance, everyone started to repeat the rhythm. Making the master of the show. Happy. Knowing he had his first batch of teenager in the bag and to his control.
OCC: Silv and Kenni, I let you guys post next about a robbery or a break in. SW will be with a group of teens. Robbing a store or something. I have a suggestion. That one of you guys manage to nap her before she could escape. I tell you more later.

Speedy shook his head slowly as he responded to the distress call the large department store had sent out to law enforcement, which the Tower systems had intercepted. There had been calls like this all week, but it couldn't be just because of the sales. Specifically, teenaged crime was up by something like 150% in the past three days! Robin and Cy had pinpointed the initial increase to coincide with the arrival of a pretty freaky circus in Jump, and the ginger had been running around all week on calls of teen disorderlies and robberies, metahumans or not.
It was getting old.
The crimson archer GrappleArrowed into a conveniently already broken window, sliding down the bars of a wonky escalator with cracked glass siding, almost as if something massive had just rolled down it.
The culprit had left the building already. Part of the smashed remains of a once-new flat-screen television crackled on the concrete down below. The majority of the fallout-of-the-window was crackling atop an emergency vehicle.
Fortunately, due to the chaos during this holiday season, the emergency responders had gotten here quickly to attend to the fallout-from-the-riotous-actions-of-a-few. A..scrawny, stoned, or just plain servile few.
Serving who, he didn't know yet, but there was just something weird about their listless faces and couldn't-care-less attitudes, as they wrecked the place and tried to make off with value-cut valuable merchandise. There had to be a bigger story here.
"There's this group of scene kids decked in all-dark, grabbing what-all they can from other Boxing Day shoppers, guys. And they're takin' full advantage of the Five-Finger Discount, too. I can prolly handle this on my own, but if anyone's in the mood for a little cardio, head to Sky Mall on Kiddy Corner."
During Speedy's short time in Jump City so far, he'd seen some pretty interesting confrontations, such as playing tag-in while two veritable giants threw-down at Jump Square, and been on dates with girls with scathing wit and humour.
None of these scrawny, heavily-made up goth kids looked like they had any sense of either, nor could they throw-down in any sense.
They were surprisingly vicious to the little kids and old people being robbed of all these cheap as dirt baubles and total steal-deals, though. So, as done with this week as he was, he had to follow protocol.
This entailed giving the latest batch of these jokers a chance to give up. If he could talk to one of them before the cops showed up to haul their sorry butts off to juvie, maybe the mystery of the city's increasingly criminal behaviour could be unmasked.
"Listen up~. I know none of you wants to break a nail tonight, so put those hands up nice and quiet and there'll be no tears OR tears tonight," Speedy called out, priming a mystery arrow at a particularly interestingly silver-haired teen troublemaker.
Robin hadn't heard the initial alert. It turned out their communicator signal might have been better than the average phone company but it wasn't magical. Yet. As the Boy Wonder moved farther up, perhaps towards a sub-basement level, his communicator exploded with alerts and the tunnel ahead of him echoed with the sound of splashing. He'd scared something. Probably not what he was looking for. His masked eyes pulled away from the darkness ahead of him to focus on the communicator as Speedy's face appeared to tell them the situation. "Understood," he replied, "I'm in the vicinity. I'll be there as soon as I can."
With that he clicked a button on his communicator shrinking the communication screen to instead track Speedy's GPS location. He was closer to the mall than he'd originally thought. As he headed upwards Robin considered what he'd seen, even if briefly, through Speedy's comm link. More teenagers. More crime. It was a troubling trend recently, and he had to admit, that maybe Cyborg was right. Maybe it was the circus. As much as he hated to admit it.
Circuses didn't tend to have the best reputations. Or sense of fashion, if his uniform colors were any indication. And even with all the detective work he'd put into this already he still didn't like the conclusion. If felt wrong to the boy from the circus even if the facts said it was so. Which led him to fruitlessly chase any leads. Even ones that vanished deep into the sewers.
Nearby the mall one of the sewer grates rattled as it was heaved to the side. Moments later a traffic light clad boy popped out of it before shoving the grate back into place with a rattle and a thud. He then headed for the door, because even heroes could use the front door sometimes, and followed the sounds towards where the trouble was.
It was a riot. Not the fun kind. Robin popped around the corner on the opposite side of the group from Speedy who was ordering them to stand down. "We have you surrounded!" the Titan leader added. In case that was persuasive enough to get the zombified goths to stop.
These was probably their fourth or fifth break in a week. Or probably more. Not that, she was keep tab on it. Night after night. Freak Show minion strikes. Robbing as small from convention shops to being heartless to robbing little old ladies. Well, there’s a saying. ‘There’s no honour between thieves’. And they should know better. Taking a walk at night in Jump City are dangerous. Serve them right for being such as easy target.
She thought.
Then again, who cares! The only thing, they should care about was him. Freak Show, their ring master. Their duty was to serve him and only him. A happy master. A happy life. As absurd that may sound. Being brainwash by Freak Show. That’s what they were told to do. Brainwash to serve him selflessly and do his dirty work without question. They were told. They should be proud to serve him. With their pathetic lousy loyalty to him. Despite the consequences, they might face. Fail and they would be terminated. Literally.
“Got it!” A team of minion she was with. Manage to hack into the bank security and open the bank vault. It was so easy. Too easy until ‘Robin’ showed up. “What now?! Is that a cop?” Making everybody growl in annoyance. “Crap! It’s the Teen Titans!” “I’ll handle this and wait for my signal”
Kimber took a step forward. Her eyes started to glow. Earlier on. As precaution. She dropped her silver bells (silver magical balls) around the bank. Just in case, they ran into trouble. Normally, she would need to be in sight of her silver element to conjure them. Conjuring them into their shapes and form. But this was an exceptional case since how hard it was to conjure a pointing end to screw the Teen Titans. With a smirk, her silver element bells start to react by the gesture of her hand. Opening her hand, then clenched it into a fist. Silver shard starts to appear rapidly around the Teen Titans.
“GO! NOW!” Urging her comrade to flee and they did. She knew. Her silver shard was just a distraction to let her escape. With the Titans reputation, it (the shard) wouldn’t be able to stand up against the Titans for long. But the silver witch has a trump card under her sleeves. Conjuring one of her silver bells into a whip. “Get ready, babies…” Taking a defensive stance and mumbling something. Towards the shadow behind her. Red eyes start to stand out from the shadow and reply her with a low growl.

Robin was on his way. In the meantime, these crazy kids were trying the scatter approach, urged by the apparent leader.
Who was only trying to impale him.
His first arrow was set aside as he dodge-rolled some of the dangerous shards, lifting the shoddy remains of a sale-quilt to stop the little pricks in their tracks before they made tracks all across his skin.
“Ack, you’ve made your point, awready!”
Speedy let loose the mystery arrow that had been primed at her; the first NetArrow volley, one of his go-tos. The first was aimed at her face, the other four at her arms and legs, intended to bind her in tangles. But first, the crimson archer captured the legs of a great deal of her little retreating zombie-squad by continuous NetArrowing to the ankles; some were unlucky enough to fall into each other, and they summarily fell like dominos as he had a clear shot of them seeing as they’d turned tail to run. Of course, many got away, even with the enhanced stand-down threat tactics the newly-arrived Robin presented, known for kicking butt and leaving name-taking for the cops.
“Why do they always run~?” Speedy sighed, secretly pleased; he’s always wanted to say that. In his line of work, it was amazing he hadn’t had the opportunity yet. Or maybe it was a repeat; he HAD been doing this for years, after all. Whether Robbers took it as the rhetorical question it was or chose to ignore his friend’s messing around, there was a weird sound, far more cause for immediate concern than joking was.
“...somat about this stinks, and it isn’t just you, Chief..”
Well, with Speedy, joking could be concurrent.
He got a StunArrow ready and aimed at whatever was growling at the Titans in the shadows, as he crouched behind a mannequin display wearing the tattered rags of the silver-witch's attack.
Robin had the distinct impression that he was a traffic light that had just turned green. The horde was rushing past him, or trying to, as Speedy shot nets at their legs. He didn't have time for Speedy's jokes. The Boy Wonder was quick to jump in, throwing a bola at one particularly unlucky teenager, before simply smashing into the group to take them on by force. He knocked another teen to the ground easily, pulling handcuffs from his belt to restrain the other boy, when something sharp stabbed the exposed flash between his gloves and tunic sleeves. Despite the pain the handcuffs still snapped around the other teen's wrist.
The Boy Wonder lurched to his feet as he tried to shove off the sharp metal that swarmed him in the manner of a very persistent, and massive, mosquito. But, it would seem, that being impaled was actually not their biggest worry. Robin made his way towards Speedy, scowling at the comment about how he still smelled like sewers, as he slowly pulled out his bostaff from his belt and expanded it with a snap. His masked gaze met Speedy, in their bizarre trio of two boys and a mannequin, before snapping back to Silverwing at the mysterious growling behind her.
The Teen Titans was seriously good. Their reputation precedes them. The ringmaster wasn't kidding when he asked his beloved followers to be careful when they encounter the Titans. Several team before her had been taken down by them (Teen Titans). Hurled into jail and was never heard again. Mad and disappointed. The ringmaster would take out his anger on anyone for just making the smallest and unreasonable mistake. Scolded harshly or being whipped by his whip or even executed as a lesson, punishment and reminder. She was one of the unlucky few people was caught in it. His whip mark can still be seen on her back and the sting was a powerful reminder. A clear reminder. What happen if they fail or disappointed him again?
Wanting so badly to please him. She did her best to outdo the Teen Titans. But who was she kidding? Her teams are just a bunch of amateur teens. A bunch of wannabe thieves going up against a professional superhero. They had been doing this for years and when they just started getting a hang of it. Just several days of ago.
“GET THEM!”
She whips her silver whip at the shadow. Just before her foot got caught by the arrow net. Dropping her silver whip. When he body got wrap by a second arrow net. Making her fall and hitting her head hard against the wall when she fall backward. Sliding down the floor. Slowly, blacking out. The ringmaster beast, his canine toy dogs, Corgis was the first run up to the Teen Titans. Nibbling. Scratching. Barking at them. Pathetic. Yeah. Probably the only scariest dog was the Rottweiler’s. Two stood by her side. Protecting her. Licking her face when they saw her down as she becomes unconscious.
Next thing, she remembers…. “SORRY, I FELT ASLEEP!!” Kimber Lee Fowl woke up. Sitting straight up. “Oh wait, I’m not in school. But I’m…” She pauses a moment realized. She wasn’t actually home or familiar. “Whe…where am I?” She started panicking.
OCC: Guys, I posted something in Skype abt the fast forward thingy. Let me know its too much. So I can quickly make a change...
OoC; It’s all good, Quiksy! Thanks for the heads. We’ll take it from here. BD |
The weird, quite obviously mechanised Rottweilers were less surprising than the yippy Corgi-editions that rushed the two masks first. Speedy had hardly shared a ice-cool few seconds of bro-stare with Robin, complete with the ‘Leggo!’ nod, when their attention had been retrieved by, not golden retrievers, but the red-eyed variations of man’s best friends.
“Raggedy-Anne, I choose YOU!” Speedy lurched forward. Well, his projectiles did.
Exactly 4 StunArrows for each of the scary and less-scary robo-dogs, and one mannequin.
It was a strange, strange battle, but the trajectory of the third robo-dog or so that had been stunned carried its momentum backwards, sending it careening into its task-master. The silver-haired girl was knocked out pretty quickly, and with some very mandatory handcuff-back-up from the Chief (Speedy realised he would have to start carrying more than not-enough-pairs in his belt today), they had her in custody. ~ “You’re somewhere safe, Sleeping-Shooty, and so are your Rob-Zombies.” The Fowl heir finally came-to in the interrogation room to Speedy's misleading references. Well, hospital.
Both Titans had gotten pretty badly scraped up from all the flying shards of death going on during their showdown with this metahuman girl, not to mention the damages dealt to her when her own silver went haywire at her losing consciousness.
Somehow, Robin was convinced to come along, if not to stop his veins from running dry from all the projectiles he’d entertained, then to hold Speedy’s hand while he got tested for tetanus escort the majority-confused teens to the hospital.
It wasn’t long after she got KO’d that her silver kept up the swarm, but gravity and sharp metal were not a pretty mix, whether one controlled it or not; everyone involved was understandably worse for wear. Kimber’s captured minion-teens were also ‘in custody’, police officers swarming the other hospital beds nearby for teens having come-to like Kimber was doing, and for what seemed the hundredth time in under two weeks, trying to figure out what was up with the string of robberies straight for the horses’ mouths.
“This is Jump North Clinic, right next to police headquarters. So unless you’re into taking your stripes without stars, best to start talking, miss,” Speedy continued, having far too much fun with this for being nearly impaled through on several occasions.
“Why all the mass-theft? Didn’t get enough allowance from the folks this week? Who’re you working for, and where were they during Black Friday..?” came 20-and-3 questions.
They were of course, all hand-cuffed to their beds until their parents came to scold—bail* them out further notice, but considering what this girl could do with metal, and uncertain about her powers regarding types of metals, Fowl’s wrist was instead deftly boy-scout-knotted to the bed for security reasons.
Robin hated hospitals. He hated them more when they had a legitimate reason to pester him for medical treatment. Like, for example, the way he and Speedy looked like they'd just had a knife fight with a tornado. The medical staff, in all their sterile equipment, hadn't taken too kindly to Robin arriving fresh from the sewer either.
A shower (accepted only after threats of sponge baths) and a pair of tetanus shots later left Robin scowling in a dress made out of two medical gowns while his uniform had been stolen for cleaning by some well meaning techs. The police, at least, were being professional enough about it to hide their snickers under their hands. The Boy Wonder let Speedy watch the other kids they'd captured as he informed the police of what had happened.
The girl who could control the sharp projectiles that had tried to turn Speedy and Robin into a pair of pincushions wasn't the first to wake up. She was, however, the first to scream about it and that had both Robin and the police chief he'd been talking with running over towards where Speedy and the girl were.
He scowled at Speedy's less than useful questions, his masked eyes narrowing at his friend, before studying the girl in front of them again. "If you tell us who you're working for we can offer you a lighter sentence," he added as incentive.
Kimber Lee Fowl was hardly listening to a word. Instead, she mostly to stun and fangirl-ing at the sight of Robin and Speedy. “OMG! You’re Robin and Speedy!” That was until Robin says the magic word... lighter sentence. "Wait?! What?!” It shoots her. Right out from the Heaven’s and right back to the earth. Face first. "Lighter what?! On what charges?" She asked.
Until one of the police officer step forward to explain.
"Ma’am…" The officer called her. Her jaw dropped when she heard herself being called…Ma’am. Exchanging a look of outrage and anger towards the police officer. How dare called her that? She wasn’t that old to begin with. She closed her mouth and cross her arm under her chest. Glaring down at the officer with a distaste look on her face. Ignoring her evil glare. The officer continued and took a small notepad out his pocket. “You charge for listed crime…” Again, Kimber Lee Fowl jaw hit the floor. He (the officer) secretly smirk and replies. “You heard that right a listed of crime…” He flipped his little notepad over and started to announcement chargers made against. He went on and on. Flipping several pages before he ended.
“That’s an outrage!” She protested. “What proof do you have?” She believes herself to be fairly a good person. The only crime she known ever committed are parking summons. That was before they showed her the surveillance video to shut her up. The colour drained from her face as she couldn’t believe. What she was seeing? Her robbing and hurting people.
“That’s not me! That can’t be me!” She swears. “I…I don’t ever remember doing any of these…I don’t…” She can’t ever remember. What happen yesterday? Or What day it was today? That can’t be her. “That what they all say…” “I’m SERIOUS!” She snapped back at the rude man. Holding herself back from crying. Couldn’t be more embarrassed? To be called a ma’am or to be charger as a criminal in front of her two idol, Robin and Speedy. Just wish she could freeze time and bolt.
“The doctors say, she good to go…” She heard one of another officer spoke and they started un-cuff her from the bed. “Ma’am….” Again, with the ma’am. Urgh! They drag her out of the hospital bed. He started reading out her rights. While he puts her arm behind her back and attempt handcuff. Causing her to panic as her world crumbles around her.
“No! Wait! This is a mistake! I didn’t do any of….” Before she could finish her words. The TV in the ward turn itself on. As the static background began to fade. Gothica logo appear. Along with its ringmaster, Freakshow. Wearing bold goth makeup. Dress in a fully traditional ringmaster costume with taste of goth. Dark and gloomy. He started to introduce his circus stars in rhythm.
“Circus Gothica, where the clowns never smile.” A gloomy clown with sharp teeth appears, howling with demented laughter. “Circus Gothica, come and get your freak on, with real freaks” Next, a heavily pierced man in an iron mask appears next. “Circus Gothica! Is finally here in Jump City…” His crew quickly gather behind him. As he twirls his cane with glowing red orb on top of it. “I dare you to come and cross over to the dark side.” No one notices. As Freakshow did the introducing. Kimber and the group of goth senses are transfixed towards Freakshow. Hearing their master voice. Their eyes started to turn red when it caught the glimpse of her master red glowing gem, on top of his cane. “Goth Children of Jump City! Return to your master. As tonight will be Gothica circus will be leaving Jump City.”
Kimber Lee Fowl broke free from the rude man (officer) grip. Taking them out before they could reach. Making fall on their back and unconscious. She turns to her next prey. Push her nearest to the bed. Putting her hands around his neck and started choking….Speedy.
OCC: Sorry for the late reply. Work has been harsh. And I let you decide, what happen to the other Goth kids?
OoC; Talk about work being harsh >.>;; As my highest payback-post I thoughddI’d reply here first, although you guys may be over this thread ahah. My bad, eternally. U.u~~ If you guys are still interested, the other kids can be freaking out (badumpsh~!) like Kimber, like escaping their bonds and trying to wreak havoc on the hospital etc.|
Speedy’s fingers pried uselessly at Kimber’s around his neck, at first. Due to several vaccinations, said fingers were numb, and breathing was proving difficult in the surprise-attack. Talk about having a bad day and taking one down. The eery fixation the captured teenagers had on the television screen had certainly been distracting, and it had seemed all, including the now repeat-offending Fowl, were securely fastened to their hospital beds, however..
“—grrk!” ..Speedy was caught in the choke-hold before he could mentally-prepare for a new slew of hardly helpful interrogatives, much less finish grinning at the mixed-up Fowl heir’s reaction to meeting the two pairs of famous Tights..
..even if the boys were sporting much airier apparel for the moment, suited to their various tests and pinpricks taken in the interest of their health.
“Seems like everyone’s folks were right; too much TV is bad for young, developing minds.” Finally freeing himself through sheer force, a raspy retort to his situation was aimed at Robin, even as StunArrows set to the lowest setting possible were aimed at first the obviously-triggering television message to see if stopping broadcast would stop the madness momentarily, then at many a stirred goth, attempting to leave Jump and consequentially their families to join up with this Circus Gothic, forever. As far as the choked crusader was concerned, Kimber Fowl was still their best clue as to what had just gone wrong in seconds based on said broadcast. Thus, he simply took to the silver-slinger with more entangling Netting, followed up by going for her back, locking her wrists behind her against the hospital bed.
It wouldn’t do to be completely barbaric with their most articulate lead, no matter how sore his neck was.
Plus, she was cute.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
