Characters: Jenga, Kaie Setting: Mid-day on the beach. the weather is incredibly hot and sunny and in the middle of a heat wave. Previous Threads: none Plot Summary: Jenga needs to find a swimsuit. So he needs to learn how to human.
Jenga ‘s heels on his boots sank into the sand as he walked, causing him to nearly trip about three times as he carried the large umbrella and all his fathers things. He seemed… out of place. Although being out of place wasn’t abnormal for Jenga, as he always did seem to stand out. However, this time it was his choice in clothing that made him look so out of place. He wore a heavy white coat with a purple scarf and tight black pants. The upside of being an android was that he had a much higher heat tolerance than a flesh and blood human, but he also had no concept of what clothing was acceptable.
“Good gracious, boy, why did you not wear a swimsuit.” Dr.Hawthorn grumbled as he laid out a blanket on the sand.
“Why would I?” Jenga asked, genuinely confused. “I don’t even think I own one.”
Dr.Hawthorn blinked before sighing. “Jenga. Look around you. Everyone at the beach wears something that’s at least cool. You look like you live in Antarctica.” Dr.Hawthorn himself was dressed in some swim trunks and a white teeshirt, his grey hair hidden under a ball cap. He reached into his own pocket and retrieved his wallet. “Go buy a swimsuit or something and ditch that god-awful coat.”
Jenga took the wallet, pouting. “I like my coat. But okay.” Jenga hobbled his way up to the board walk after setting down his dad’s cooler and umbrella. He was confused as all get out as to what to actually get. He did as he usually did when confused and sat on a bench, people watching. He watched bikini-clad babes job along the sand and trunk wearing hunks showing off for said bikini wearing women. He admired some for a moment before an oddly hairy man wearing a… what was that? Underwear? Did his dad want him to buy stretchy spandex underpants?
It was pretty much the perfect lazy day. School was out, she wasn't scheduled for a patrol, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was times like these Kaie loved living in Jump City. A beachfront town in a warm part of the country, it was like she lived in a vacation spot all summer. And after what must have been a gallon or two of sunscreen, the giantess was ready to hit the beach. (She hadn't even known they sold it in bulk like that. It was just another one of the struggles of having that much surface area.)
Kaie's feet sank up to her ankles as she walked along the sandy beach. She'd learned a lot lately about how sand acted with someone of her mass. She was still looking for a place to set up, with her giant-sized everything. Giant ice-blue bikini, giant green beach towel, giant sun hat, giant sunglasses just in case the hat wasn't enough. She towered over everything, scanning the beach when something odd caught her eye. It wasn't her day on patrol, but it was suspicious enough to warrant a closer look.
Her heavy footfalls thudded across the beach as she walked towards the parka-clad lad. With each step she sank a little bit, pulling herself back out easily with her superhuman strength and generally making a mess of the sand. She eyed the boy curiously. Why would anyone be dressed that warm on the beach, in the middle of summer? Kaie dropped to one knee, looking at him. "Are ye alright there? Yer dressed a lil warm fer this heat."
Jenga blinked as he was approached by a giant woman, He couldn't help but just look at her for a moment. His face soon turned back to his normal, sparkling grin. Porcelain teeth that seemed normal from the outside, but could slice through shoe leather with little difficulty. Really they were more like metal teeth with precision placed porcelain covers on the fronts. Dad wants me to buy a swimsuit... But I have no idea what to get. His white hair shifted in the light breeze, silver eyes Examining Kaie for a moment. Perhaps buying one of those was in order?
He looked up as another overly hairy and slightly pudgy man walked by in a bright red speedo. Jenga blinked for a moment, why on earth did so many people insist on wearing so little? I don't have to get one of those do I? He innocently asked, playing with the hem of his coat. Frankly, he didn't know what looked good, he never really looked at humans for their bodies before. He's never realized all the different types and that so many humans looked so different. Different hair, skin and eye colors, all manner of body structures and facial structures, it was all so confusing. He personally knew what he looked like, but he never really saw himself in a way a human might.
Kaie blushed faintly. He was really pretty. Like anime bishie pretty. She smiled down at him, curious now. "Are ya okay in that jacket? Ye might get heatstroke if yer not careful." He didn't look to be sweating at all. Maybe he was some sort of metahuman? Or an alien, that could explain it. But then would he be okay without the jacket? She assumed she would, otherwise his dad wouldn't have sent him to get a swimsuit.
The giantess grinned, trying not to blush again as she imagined the white-haired boy in a speedo. "I dunno, I think it'd look good on ya." She realized she was getting ahead of herself here. Kaie held out a finger for him to shake. "My name's Kaie, by the way. Or Rumble, when I'm wi' the Titans. Whas yer name?" She could never resist name-dropping the Titans. She'd been a superhero fangirl for so long, she just had to brag about finally being the real thing now. Not that it was something you could miss, she tended to stand out in a crowd.
Jenga's head tilted to the side in curiosity. "I should be more concerned about you. Usually when people turn that color, bad things happen." He was referring to the light pink tint on Kaie's cheeks, completely unaware that humans could blush in non-life threatening situations. However the subject was ditched as they went on to introductions. He curiously shook the giant finger before him, Admiring her nails for a brief second. Jenga. I don't have a cool hero name yet, but I just got recruited last week.Silver eyes moved up to meet Kaie's with a dull spark, flashing reflectively in the light.
His hand was an odd feeling. Sure his skin mimicked human skin very well, but the underlying titanium alloy made it feel somewhat bonier than it should. Although, people with bony hands were a normal occurrence. I don't know about wearing one of those... seems too stretchy... and form...fitting. He cringed, not nessicarily wanting everything on pure display. He shrugged off the heavy coat, leaving him in a long white sweater than went to his mid-thighs. He didn't nessicarily wear leggings, but his jeans were so tight they may as well be. He never wore tight jeans unless there was a shirt that atleast covered his butt. He held his jacket over his arm and glanced in some of the shop windows. So where do they sell these swim suits?
Kaie flushed brighter when he pointed it out. She'd been trying her best to keep it under control, but now that he mentioned it it only got worse. "Is just a lil blush, nothin dangerous. Is just hot out here." Kaie lied. It was better than revealing how far in the gutter her mind had gone. Luckily, he quickly steered them down another track. "Yer a new Titan too? Thas so cool! Whas yer power?" His hand felt oddly hard and rigid, that probably had something to do with it. Probably some kind of super-toughness.
"Well, superhero uniforms are usually pretty form-fittin too. Like gymnast outfits, is easier ta move in and there's less ta catch on things." Ma had not been pleased about that, but she'd caved eventually. She'd wanted her in some kind of stuffy, baggy outfit. "There's stores aroun' here, les go!" Kaie straightened up, leading him towards the nearest store she knew of. "Don' worry, ye can find somethin. Is easier fer you, I had ta get mine custom. Would ya believe no store has my size?" Kaie laughed at her own joke. She thought she was pretty darn funny.
Jenga nodds. Panicing inside for a moment. He didn't want to be seen as an object so early on! Hey, what Kaie didn't know wouldn't hurt, right? I'm a hacker. I don't really wear super hero fun costumes. No point for me really. Just have to change again, am I right? Seems inconvenient." He shrugged, deciding to drop that subject like a hot potato. He held onto his jacket, eyes scanning over Kaie again.
No I can't believe it! That's no fair. Maybe they needs to make a 'giant woman boutique.' He then gasped deeply as an idea hit him. Maybe WE would open a 'giant woman boutique'! For all giant women! Jenga seemed not to notice that Kaie was literally the only giant woman he'd seen... so opening a shop for giant women was kind of a bad business move. He walked along behind Kaie, window shoping for a moment. So... why are there a ton of shorts in the windows? Jenga also seemed not to know the diffrence between shorts and swim trunks.
Kaie nodded. She was still curious, though. "Ya got some super strength too? Yer hands feel pretty sturdy." Maybe he was one of those multi-purpose heroes. There were quite a few of those on the Titans. Kaie was one of the few who was only really good at one thing. She was big, strong, and tough. Couldn't do much else, but she could slam someone's jams pretty good.
She ambled along beside him, laughing at his idea. "Ya think we could get a market fer that?" She knew of a few other heroes and villains who could turn her size or bigger, but couldn't think of any off the top of her head that were stuck that size. Not ones that seemed to live on Earth, anyway. Kaie frowned slightly when he asked about the swim shorts. First of all, just how sheltered was this guy? Second, was he going to deny her her eye candy? "Well those are swimsuits too, but I think the lil ones look better. Shows off a bit, ya know?" She was really trying to push Speedos for Summerslam.
Jenga internaly cringed. She'd noticed the titanum underlying his hands. He'd always wanted his father to put some kind of insulation under his skin. Humans were soft and squishy. He felt like skin on top of a car hood. His skin looked and felt real, but upon first punch, baddies often wound up breaking their hands on his titanium bones, ligaments and muscles. Something like that. He agreed. He still didn't quite want to broadcast his inhuman quality. Through his life, the second he revealed he was metal rather than flesh, he was always treated as more of an object that a person. He didn't really want to be an object. Heck, his poor father had gone to court many times over to make sure that no one could take Jenga or hurt him. In the divorce, Ella had tried to take Jenga in the divorce. but fearing for his 'son's' life drove him to sacrifice millions of dollars to keep him out of his ex-wife's hands who he knew intended to cause him great harm. The government accused him of harboring a weapon of mass destruction, and Jenga had to prove he wasn't as dangerous as their 'anonymous' source had led on. Dr.Hawthorn had even had some protest from the scientific community and nearly lost his company because of the controversy creating a sentient being out of metal had stirred. However, all ended well and Jenga lives with Dr.Hawthorn happily, passing off for a normal boy as much as he can.
I could try one on. Don't laugh. He sheepishly murmered, opening the shop door and holding it open for Kaie, not quite knowing what he was getting into.
Kaie nodded. He was being a bit evasive about his powers, but heroes were like that sometimes. Not everyone's abilities were as obvious as hers, and some supers liked to keep their abilities a secret so they'd have a surprise to bring out when they needed it. She wondered if he'd ever take the field, or if he'd stay behind as a super secret hacker type. Then again, if he did stay behind, he could be great on defense. Any baddies that tried to go for the squishy hacker would never see him coming.
"Thanks!" He held the door and Kaie got down on all fours, crawling through. It was a good thing they had big doors here. She wondered how she would manage when she grew more? The doctors said she could top out at 15 or 16 feet, so she still could have a ways to go. Kaie stood, hunched down so as not to damage the ceiling, somewhere out of the way. "I swear I won' laugh, ye'll look great!" She smiled down at him, nudging him towards the Speedos.
If Jenga could blush at the moment, he would, he reluctantly picked up one of the stretching man-thongs. If you say so. He murmurs, going into the fitting room. When he returned he was still wearing his shirt, coat and scarf... but no pants and the speedo was...there? On the bright side, Jenga was hairless due to the fact that his father didn't feel like spending ages lacing hair in areas other than his head. Kaie... this doesn't feel quite right... I feel like I'm about to try out for Magic Mike. He shuddered, tugging his coat down to cover his scaintily clad butt.
Jenga was quite over-modest himself. He never really wore shorts per the idea of showing his legs. He was always wearing sleeves and a coat and a scarf, so the idea of walking around wearing just what his mind registered as underpants worried the little android. Do they have swimming pants?
Kaie was excited to see what he'd look like in the speedo, and was almost disappointed in the result. She would have been fully disappointed if he didn't look hilarious. The giantess doubled over, laughing hysterically. He looked like he was in one of those nightmares where he'd gone to school with no pants. "No, yer supposed ta just wear the swimsuit, leave the rest off." she explained, trying to catch her breath. It seemed like the speedo thing was a wash, but at least she'd gotten a laugh out of it.
Once she'd composed herself, Kaie answered his question. "Well, they got swimmin' shorts. Thas what most guys wear. Not as flatterin' as the speedos, though." She sat down cross-legged on the floor, trying to take up as little space as possible. "Ya can try one o' those on if ye want. Jus' wear it proper this time, okay?" She was pretty sure that look with a more modest swimsuit wouldn't have the same comedic effect.
The little android's systems 'reved' in embarrassment, the same effect as someone's heard dropping. Humans were just shameless! He uncomiftorbly tossed his coat to the side, then the scarf and his top shirt, leaving him in a white tee that he wore under everything, what he truly considered underwear. Wear it propper... got it! He picked up the shorts option and slipped back into the changing room, actually coming out with just the trunks on.
Jenga's humanesque body was extreamly realistic down to every minor detail. Titanium muscles coiled and flexed in a same manner humans would down his chest, abdominals, bicept and he even had a faux muscle in his jaw that would clench when he spoke and fake a 'swallowing' gesture to make him seem even more alive. The only possible flaw was the small creace in the small of his back, where the cord he used to hack hands free resided. However it was well hiden and just looked like a scar on his ivory skin. Better?
Kaie watched him strip, more than a little disappointed he stopped with his shirt still on. She wanted to see him in just his speedo, but this was the best she was going to get for now. Maybe another time she could convince him to be more adventurous. The young giantess had high hopes for this guy, she had a feeling she could win him over to the pervy side. She watched him return to the changing room, glad for what she could see.
When he returned, her eyes went wide. She hadn't expected him to be that fit. Under all those layers he'd seemed like just a lean prettyboy, but without them he was all chiseled muscle. She had to focus a bit to keep from drooling. "Ya look great! Wanna get that one?" It was no speedo, but it was no slouch in the eye candy department. She smiled down at him, looking him over. "Ya look really strong!" How did Jump City have so many gorgeous guys? And how were so few of them willing to give a giant a shot?

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
