Characters: Kid Flash (outcast) and Robin (Silv)
Setting: After Robin's distress signal
Previous Threads: After "Sick Bird"
Plot Summary: Kid Flash makes himself at home at the tower to watch over Robin.
It hadn't been more than a couple hours since coming back to Jump from visiting his family and friends in Keystone. It was nice to relax a bit, but a week of no super hero duties and the threat of being grounded for using them got stressful and he was happy to back to a sense of normalcy. Most of all, he itched all over to get back out into the field and do some super speedy cleanup of all the trash that might have piled up while he was gone. Sure, the Titans were capable, but he liked to imagine them lost without his amazing abilities and know how.
The mask had just been put into place when his comms piece started to go off with the distress signal. He looked down the beeping device, eyes widening at the source. Robin? Kid Flash's chest tightened. It was the worry he got whenever the distress signal went off, but this was a little different. There were a few people in the group he had extra ties to. He loved everyone, but when those certain people got into trouble, it especially worried him. It wasn't just a comrade that was in danger but a friend he knew on a deep personal level. It was someone he knew as Wally, not just Kid Flash. If the other's knew, he'd get scolded he was sure, but it wasn't like he could help it. And it was just the worry part that was different. He would act the same for everyone, or at least he believed that he would. Thankfully, that had never needed to be put to the test.
With little bolts of electricity chasing behind him, he sped out the door without a word and scoured the entire city. Just taking all the main roads, Kid Flash was able to cover the entire city of Jump in about five minutes. Covering all the back allies, side streets, parks, and general gathering places for baddies... that took a little extra time. Covering all those spots a few times over and doing a quick skim of the bordering parts of neighboring towns took even more time. But he couldn't stop and when he did an hour later, Kid Flash was pretty sure that not a single street or alley had been left untouched, as well as the neighboring towns. The only place he hadn't checked, the place he didn't want to check until he was absolutely sure that all ground had been covered, was the tower.
He was there in an instant, not stopping even for a moment to say hello to the rest of the team. That could come later. First thing was first. In an instant, he was outside of Robin's door, knocking at hyper speed and definitely not waiting long enough for an answer. To him, it was like waiting an hour, everything going by so slowly, but really he had only been outside the door for two seconds before he was off again. This time it was the infirmary. Not the place he wanted to check, because that meant bad things happened, but a reasonable assumption that he'd be there if the distress went off.
Kid Flash burst through the door and skidded into a halt, relief washing over his body instantaneously when he saw his friend safe from harm.
"Holy snickers, Robin! I just get back and this is what you do to show me how much you missed me?"
