PERSONALITY
The lab tried to condition Slobo to emulate Lobo, and it partially worked. Slobo is bold, brash, and more than a little rude. He's prone to metaphors that drag on until they become hopelessly confusing and he's forgotten what he was saying in the first place. He'll even make up a word or too to help his devil-may-care attitude. The only problem is the human element to him. That gives him two things Lobo lacks: empathy and a conscience. Deep down, he's just as horrified by his namesake as he is jealous of him. Lobo is everything he's supposed to want to be, but he's also everything he's afraid of being. He doesn't want to kill or hurt people (though he may make an exception for whoever is doing all these experiments on him), and he doesn't want to be alone. That's the worst thing about the lab. Slobo can deal with the experiments, but the fact that everyone he sees treats him like a lab rat really gets to him. This has left him with pretty much no experience talking to people, which makes him pretty socially awkward. He can try to cover it with bravado, but only time will tell how that works out.
POWERS/SKILLS
Slobo is far from a perfect clone, but he's still got enough Czarnian in him to matter. His strength and endurance are about on par with a Tamaranean, and his reflexes and speed are superhuman as well. He can run at about 45 mph, with reactions fast enough to easily control himself at that speed. He also has a mild psychic ability, able to instinctively sense an opponent's weakness. Unfortunately for him this power isn't very strong, and even a mild psychic defense can block it out entirely.
Lastly, there is the most famous power of the Czarnians: their regeneration. At the outset, Slobo can regenerate in a matter of minutes even if most of his body is destroyed, but that reduces his lifespan by months or even years depending on how much healing he needs. As his lifespan shortens he will grow weaker, losing some of his powers and steadily going blind. The side effects are gradual, building up the more he heals. These effects will remain until he either dies or is stabilized.
It is possible to fix the flaws in his DNA, giving him stable powers and a normal human lifespan, but at a cost to the regeneration. This will take some lab work, but is permanent and should allow him to recover from any damage incurred by his out-of-control regeneration. Loss of vision, shortened lifespan, etc. This could take a few weeks to fully recover depending on how bad it had gotten. In a stable state small cuts and bruises will heal in minutes, serious injuries will take a day or so, and lost limbs will need at least a week to regrow. The stabilization will also make him need to eat and breathe, which Czarnians can normally go without. That will provide the materials and energy to let him heal, without damaging himself long-term.
Gadgets:
None at the start, but he has a knack for kludging together gadgets from whatever's lying around. They aren't as elegant as the things other gadgeteers make, and in some cases can be downright Orky, but they get the job done. He's also inherited his predecessor's fondness for hooks and chains, and will get one as soon as possible.
WEAKNESSES
Imperfect Clone: Slobo is nowhere near as powerful as his namesake. He can regenerate, but due to the flaws in the cloning that shortens his lifespan drastically any time he uses it. It is possible to avert that little side effect, but doing so would weaken his regeneration greatly.
Weakness to Magic: Like his predecessor, he has no real defense against magic. It affects him just like anyone else.
Sedation-prone: Another weakness shared with Lobo, he has no real resistance to sedatives and can easily be knocked out by them.
Two-way street: His weakness sense also leaves him more open to psychics, making him more vulnerable to psychic attacks or intrusion than a human would be.
HISTORY
Slobo began as a drop of Lobo's blood from one of his visits to Metropolis. The Main Man got in a scrap with Superman and got a few cuts and bruises, and an enterprising lab was there to grab some samples. Their samples were incomplete, but it was enough to start work on cloning the last Czarnian. After a few failed attempts, they managed to mesh human and Czarnian DNA to create a viable clone, who they named Slobo. Whether this stands for Small Lobo, Second Lobo, or Stunty Lobo depends on who you ask.
In the lab, Slobo was prepared to be a prototype supersoldier. He was given treatments to accelerate his aging so that he would be ready for training and tests, with mental conditioning while he slept to make sure his brain kept up with his growing body. Once they got him well into his teens, the real work began. Slobo has been taught to fight, and given conditioning meant to make him like a more disciplined version of Lobo. It had a bit of an unintended effect, however, because of his human side. He had a lot more empathy than the last Czarnian, and was horrified by the destruction he saw in videos of his predecessor. Slobo rebelled, in his own little way. He couldn't escape, but he could mess up their plans a bit. The Top Teen started slacking off on his training and testing, trying to avoid being battle-ready as long as possible while he investigated the place. Much to his frustration, not even most of the people working in the lab knew who they were working for. For research this unethical and illegal, everything was pretty far under the table. Eventually, with the help of Silverwing and Starfire, he managed to escape. For now he's mostly laying low, trying to find his place.
