It was early morning and a terrible vision has plagued Jason for the past few days. Naturally Jason saw his vision as a warning since it's been interrupting his otherwise pleasant dreams. The vision was that of an elevator malfunctioning and then suddenly dropping several floors severely injuring and killing a lot of people in the process. There was fire and mass confusion everywhere! People got trapped and were screaming to one another. And as per usual Jason was nothing, but a mere observer during all of this unable to do anything to help. With each new passing day, Jason grew more and more anxious and ever more desperate to do what he can to prevent the elevator from causing such chaos! As a pacifist he truly hated seeing others get hurt especially good, innocent people and he hated violence. But that's the funny thing about violence. Fate is a cruel and tricky mistress for it seemed intent on forcibly thrusting the otherwise pacifistic psychic into a violent situation. Fate it seemed was taking full advantage of Jason's desire to do whatever it took to save people from one of Jump City's Law Firm's elevators. Luckily he knew exactly which elevator was infected because with all things from his visions he knew it once he saw it. He was able to sense the exact location of his visions by his strong sixth sense. During the past few days ever since he first received his horrific vision he had been trying to warn people in charge of the enormous law firm's building of the elevator along the far southside of the hall on the top floor; which was the thirtieth floor. Unfortunately, try as he might nobody he spoke to believed him. They all saw him as the weird kid. With his vision having been intensified last night during his sleep, Jason feared the time has run out and that the elevator may in fact collapse today. He knew he just knew he couldn't fail. He had to do whatever it took to save those poor oblivious lawyers and their equally oblivious clients from certain doom! To his shame he had failed to get people to believe him in time on several previous occasions and the end result was always the same: him blaming himself for not having done more or enough and metaphorically curling up into a little ball refusing to leave his room for long periods of time with nothing but his art and videogames for company. But he swore that today would be different. That he would succeed in his desire to keep even the undeserving safe from death. Why? Because nobody else would or could. Nobody else saw what he could and the things he saw often scared him. Lucky for him school was out all this week for Christmas, so he didn't have to worry about missing schoolwork not that he would have minded missing out on stuff if it meant saving lives.
He grabbed his father's long green hooded cloak; which was very Jedi like and placed it over his clothes as well as putting on a pair of high tech gloves that enabled him to type on touchscreens without leaving behind any fingerprints. He then grabbed a bag and filled it with necessary tools as well as his high tech laptop. Both the high tech gloves and laptop were presents given to him by his uncle, the black sheep of his family.
Ready to leave he crept downstairs and wrote a note informing his mother and younger sister where he ran off to, so they wouldn't worry. Course his note might make them worry all the more especially if they knew just what he was about to do. He left the note where they would see it: on the kitchen table before sneaking out the front door. It was now seven a.m.
He took off on his green and black motorcycle as to not get any unwanted attention from flying. the traffic was surprisingly heavy forcing him to weave in and out of it. Upon his arrival downtown at the law offices it was already seven thirty.
After parking his motorcycle he raced to the front desk where a petite woman wearing glasses sat nose in a book. Still she must have known he was there because she asked without even looking at him what it was he needed. He tried telling her what he wanted as calmly as possible only for her to tell him that the law firm's CEO, Mr. Mark Brown, the very man he wanted to speak to wasn't there yet. So he tried to see the next person in charge only for Mr. Brown's second, Mr. Beaks to just laugh at him and at his visions. Time was literally running out and Jason was running out of options and of ideas. He had no idea how to...peacefully get these guys to listen to him, so he did the only other thing he could think of.
He quickly left the room without a word while Mr. Beaks continued to laugh. Jason calmly proceeded to the law firm's computer offices located on the bottom floor. Once inside he locked the doors. So far nobody noticed even as he opened up his laptop and set it up. He hacked into the law firm's internet and then he hacked into the building's private webpages. Within a few clicks of his keyboard, Jason effectively locked the building's front doors from both the inside and the outside meaning nobody else was getting inside nor could anybody leave. The lockdown also shut off all of the elevators.
That was when the building's security guards noticed. They located Jason, the source of their problem and after a few attempts to open the door discovered that Jason had locked himself inside. The security guards began shouting for him to get out only for Jason to ignore them just as he himself was previously ignored. Pretty soon everybody inside the building realized what was happening! Several attempts were made to get through to Jason and to get him to come out. After refusing he calmly explained why he locked the entire building down. "I am not coming out until I get to speak to Mr. Brown," Jason flatly informed the security guards using a walkie talkie. "And before any of you get any funny ideas about playing hero well I'll just prove to you lot just how much control I have over this stupid building," Jason threatened. After pressing a few buttons on his keyboard, the building's sprinkler system turned on causing everyone and everything inside to get wet except for the room Jason was holed up in. Following several startled screams, the security guards realized just how serious Jason was being. Soon the reporters were on the scene. "Alright kid, you win. What are your demands?" "First I want to talk to Mr. Brown." "Done. What else?" "Nobody else gets in and nobody leaves until the building is completely safe," Jason replied rather calmly confusing the security guards. "Uh safe? I...don't understand. You're the one who put the entire building on lockdown and are making all the threats. Not to mention you have access to this building's own security system and who knows what else!" Jason just smirked to himself looking pretty pleased. "Exactly! The security here really sucks! I'm honestly astounded nobody before me has hacked your building! I mean really when you really sit down and think about it is all kinds of sad. I mean how did I, a sixteen year old kid hack into your building's own systems, the very building you were all sworn to protect? Safe? Oh I highly doubt that any one of you could truly keep this building safe from harm. I mean if I could do this then just imagine what a real criminal would do in my current position. Consider this a warning of sorts. And that ladies and gentlemen is why I am here. To serve and to protect," Jason rather arrogantly informed them angering them in the process. "What are you talking about?" demanded the head guard. "No! I am done talking to you! I already tried to be nice and inform you of the danger only for you to laugh at me in my face for all of my troubles. So now we are going to solve the problem my way or not at all. Understood? Good. Now get me your boss on the phone right now or else I'll switch those nasty sprinklers on again," Jason boldly ordered.
Cursing up a storm, the head security guard finally relented and managed to get Mr. Brown on the phone. "Sir I'm so sorry for disturbing you, but there is a crazy kid here doing crazy things! What did he do? Ha, it's more of what he didn't do! The little twerp shutdown the entire building and we can't even call the police! The security systems are acting up because the kid took over everything! Then call the police on my phone? Right. I knew that! But right now the kid demands you speak to him. I think I can use that to get him to open the door to the room he is hiding in and grab him," the head guard informed his employer.
He then walked over to Jason and knocked on the glass window and when Jason looked, the head guard pointed at his cell phone. Shaking his head, Jason placed the walkie talkie to his lips. "Sorry, but nobody gets in here including you. You'll have to give me your boss' number, so I can call him myself. It's the only way I am willing to do this." Disappointed his initial plan did not work, the head guard turned to his peers. "Great, kid's smarter than I thought," he grumbled. Sighing, he turned back to Jason's glass window. "Fine. Mr. Brown's number is as follows: 279-819-2541."
By this time a fancy car pulled up and out came Jump City's Law Firm's very own, highly respected, CEO, Mark Brown himself. He was quickly bombarded by reporters and their questions. But before he could tell them anything his phone began to vibrate and ring. He answered it in a single swift motion. "Hello?" "Sir, Mr. Brown is that you?" Jason asked nervously. "Yes this is he. Is this the uh mentally unstable young man that put my entire building on lockdown?" "I'm afraid so. Guilty as charged! But you don't understand! I had to do it! Your...colleagues and employees here left me with no choice. The elevator on the far south side on the thirtieth floor is...broken. If used it's going to malfunction and the cable holding it up will snap sending everybody on it plummeting thirty stories to their deaths. I don't think you want such blood on your hands. Please sir, I am begging you, you gotta tell them. They will listen to you! They won't listen to me! I already tried loads of times all week. They think I'm crazy! Now time is up! To save the lives of your employees and clients, I had no choice, but to take over your building. You're welcome," Jason explained as calmly as he could.
The CEO then understood that the boy had good intent. "I'm afraid you're in a really bad place right now, son. I need you to come out quietly and surrender to the police who are now here. If you do that. If you let everyone go and end this lockdown, I promise nobody will hurt you," the CEO assured the holed up psychic. Jason was not at all happy by his answer and took it as a sign that Mr. Brown didn't believe him. "I'm afraid I can't do that Mr. Brown! And just for that my demands have now changed! Yeah that's right, they changed! Now I want an iced cold bottle of soda delivered here by someone I can trust. I wish to speak to a member of the Teen Titans. I'm sure being superheroes with powers of their own they will understand where I am coming from. I am telling you Mr. Brown, I saw the elevator drop and a lot of good, hard working people died in the process. I won't let that happen! As this building's CEO, I was really hoping you of all people would understand that and do what you can to help me help you here." "You say you saw the elevator...drop?" "Yeah, it was horrible!" "So what you're saying is, you're a psychic?" "I am." "And all of your visions come true?" "Unfortunately..." "That must be hard and a lot of pressure." "You have no idea."
As they converse the police silently surround the building their weapons at the ready. "Hello folks, I am Katie Wendell with today's morning news. It is a nice day outside and I am currently standing just outside the Jump City's law offices where there seems to be a bit of an unusual situation going on inside. A young teenaged hacker has reportedly hacked the building and put the entire place on lockdown making it where nobody can get inside or leave. I have also learned that all of the elevators are currently offline as well and that the hacker has complete control over the building's very own security measures. The hacker claims to be psychic and has predicted that one of the building's elevators will malfunction and drop thirty stories killing several. Luckily the police have just arrived along with the law firm's very own CEO, Mr. Mark Brown and are hoping to restore order again. I have also been told that the hacker is requesting an audience with the city's local superheroes, the Teen Titans. Let's hope they can talk sense into the hacker before anyone gets hurt. Back to you Wynn," a female reporter announced in front of her camera crew.
With all of the waiting, Jason got anxious. "You better not be stalling Mr. Brown. Where are the Titans?" Jason demanded getting antsy and paranoid. "Don't worry, son. They'll be here," the CEO reassured him. "Somebody get the Titans here and pronto," he ordered nobody in particular. "Uh sir do you honestly believe this kid's claims about being psychic?" a lawyer locked out of the building asked. Mr. Brown just looked at him a moment before shaking his head. "No. Not really. But then what other option is there? Let's say we refuse to meet any of his demands; which honestly are not all that unreasonable; and so he gets so mad that he flips out even more? What then? A lot of good people could get hurt if we don't at least try to appease and negotiate with this kid. Now which would you rather do?" The lawyer thought a moment before nodding. "Yeah, I guess you're right." "Sides with this fiasco all of the news the Titans would arrive here regardless," the CEO added. "Look all I'm saying is it couldn't hurt to check his crednetials. See just how psychic he really is," the lawyer slyly suggested. The CEO nodded. "Good idea. I like the way you think." Mr. Brown then placed his cell back to his ear. "Hey uh kid I just want you to know I am trying to get people to believe your story, but such convincing takes proof. Could you maybe make another prediction?" "I'm afraid my powers don't work that way. To make a prediction for a specific person I would need to...touch said person and I can't exactly do that in here," Jason pointed out. "Oh well then you could just come out here and touch someone," Mr. Brown retorted. Jason just sighed. "You know I can't do that. There are cops out there. They'll shoot me." Jason then wondered if his own father was among the police. Wouldn't surprise him if he was. "They won't shoot you so long as you cooperate," Mr. Brown reassured. Jason tightened his phone in his grasp. "I'll...think about it. But for now I stay put and they stay put. By the way is my father, Detective James Fletcher among the police that has no doubt surrounded this building?" Jason asked. "So your father's a cop? You think he'd like you playing terrorist and holding folks hostage? You think this little stunt of yours will make him happy?" the CEO demanded. The CEO was clearly trying to play with Jason's mind. Jason hated that. "No! But your second in command left me with no choice! I have no choice but to do this sir! I have good intent. I have tried countless times to do things the right way, but fact is there is no time. Fact of the matter is, that elevator of yours will crash with or without anybody on board." "He's stalling," a lawyer pointed out. The CEO nodded. "Yeah, I got that. Somebody needs to get in there and deal with him." "Hopefully the Titans will get here..."

The situation seemed easy enough to understand. Doomsday scare on a smaller scale than the entire world. In fact, only the size of a company elevator.
But if this mystery crazy kid was right, with repercussions that every family member of future victims would treat the same as a doomsday event.
"It is pretty dry down here, guy." The lanky ginger moseyed onto the 'crime scene', sipping (naturally) ginger ale, a purple can in his other golden glove, and used the ice cold grape pop to tap on the window.
"Heard you were thirsty for some justice. Future justice." Hopefully he could diffuse the situation himself, but another of his Titan companions or three showing up to the summons wouldn't hurt. He'd sent out the signal with a clip of the news broadcast to the main team here in Jump. It wasn't like the kid would likely recognise a Steel City Titan, anyway. Speedy still had kids and adults of all ages running up to him, breathless excitement and joy, only to realise he wasn't Robin at the last second.
"Which sounds pretty rad, but maybe we can make some Present choices to avoid the need for the former..?" Hopefully, that wouldn't escalate the hacker's agitation.
He set his bow and quiver down by one of the policewomen (naturally), domino-mask squinching up in a wink, before raising both hands laden with communal drinks as peace offerings. "Why don't you start by letting me in? Can't say I'm un-armed, but it's a start."
The fact Speedy was flexing at the policewoman instead of 100% focused on the crisis at hand was unsettling to say the least, but at least a Titan had shown up in a timely manner.

ooc: I hope it was okay for Jason to just grab Speedy and pull him inside the computer room all quick like. If not I can change it.
bic: Jason was busy sitting at one of the desks in the computer lab monitoring the security feed on his laptop when he heard the loud tapping. Studying the security feed he saw much to his relief that it was exactly what he had asked for: a member of the Teen Titans and carrying an iced cold soda no less. Jason being something of a fan of the Titans easily recognized the red-headed archer as Speedy, a member of Titans East. He knew this was definitely not Robin and so found it strange that so many people made the funny mistake of mistaking Speedy for Robin. Feeling mighty pleased with himself, a smile crossed his face. 'Finally a little respect. About time. I suppose I really oughta let the hero inside now,' Jason thought to himself. Not wanting his large scar around his left eye to be seen, Jason kept his hood over his head and he put on a pair of dark sunglasses.
Standing up from his chair, Jason gave his arms a stretch before slowly making his way across the room. Standing directly in front of the glass window he watched arms crossed as Speedy continued to tap on the window using the soda bottle. Jason gestured for him to cease the tapping. He then watched as Speedy set down his bow and arrows. The heroic archer then asked to be let in. Of course Jason wanted nothing more than to let the unarmed Titan in, but he didn't exactly trust everyone else. The last thing he wanted was for everyone else to pour in as soon as he opens the door. And the sneaky look the head security guard made didn't exactly help ease his paranoia.
Getting an idea, Jason signaled for Speedy to wait a second. Returning to his laptop, Jason pushed a few buttons resulting in the hall's lights going out. During the confusion, Jason quickly opened the computer lab's door and grabbed the archer pulling him inside. He then slammed the door shut and locked it back.
The voice inside Jason's mind was practically fanboying about being within the same room as Speedy! Jason struggled to fight the temptation to talk the Titan's ear off and ask for autographs. It was insanely difficult for him to do, but Jason somehow managed to stay focus on the task at hand. Still, Jason couldn't help smiling gleefully at the red-headed archer. "Okay the first thing I'd like to say is thanks so much for taking time out from your daily crime fighting to come over here to see me. I realize Steel City isn't exactly across the street, so really means a lot to me that you made it. And secondly, I really appreciate the fact that you clearly trust me enough to set aside your weapons. I...like being trusted. Oh and sorry about pulling you inside like that and for shutting down that hall's lights. I didn't trust anybody enough to stay put. They would have all likely ran inside when you did had I not distracted them with the whole lights out thing. But please where are my manners? You're probably wondering who I am and why I am doing all of this. Well I assure you I will tell you whatever it is you wish to know. But for now please take a seat and get comfortable. This might take awhile and I want to be a good host. By the way is that soda for me? Speedy, you sly dog, how did you know grape was one of my favorite flavors?" Jason politely offered the Titan pointing at the empty chair across from his own.
Jason went ahead and took his seat and waited patiently for the Titan to take his. "Allow me to be frank Speedy. I'm no villain! I am but a humble civilian who only wants people to be safe. And I have always admired you Titans and the good that you do. Believe it or not, I too have always tried to use my abilities for good as I am now. For now you can know me as...MasterHacker and I am a psychic and as such I am almost always plagued with horrible visions like the one I had earlier about a certain elevator inside this very building. I tried being nice during the past week by trying my best to warn everyone in time, but nobody believed me! They never believe me cause they're nothing but a bunch of shortsighed fools!" At that explanation, Jason's eyes began to glow red as various objects began to levitate and circle above him. Jason noticed this and snapped out of his anger causing all of the objects to drop until he telekinetically caught them all and set them down gently and his eyes stopped glowing. "Oops. Sorry about that. I don't have the greatest control over my emotions and unfortunately my powers are sometimes tied to my emotions," Jason explained, rubbing the back of his neck. He sighed. "But you just don't understand what it's like to not be trusted or believed in. I mean how could you, you're a hero and everyone likes and respects you! But me, I'm no hero. I'm just a lonely hacker who tries to do the right thing only for all this to happen," Jason grumbled revealing the main source of his frustration as he gestured around the room. "But if you think it'll help me any I could make a prediction for you. I just need to touch your hands, so I can 'see' what will happen to you. Bear in mind that I don't always know when my visions will happen only that they will," Jason offered the red-headed archer with a smile.

OoC; The grab is fine, Mordz! Sorry for the delay, life got crazy for a while >.>’ |
The summoned drink-server nearly crushed his Canada Dry (which sort of worked with how the grape can was a Crush brand soft drink). Jason had deftly dragged him behind his little enclave during the blackout, and Speedy’s flexing arm suddenly became his undoing.
“I’m no amateur; did a little homework on ya! Just enough to get the all-clear from all parties involved to make this happen.” Speedy had been running into a lot of motormouths lately. Jump City seemed to run the gamut in terms of being rife with the type; aliens, anti-heroes, who was next? Oh well; at least he’d have many to match wits with. Fletcher’s dizzying opening statements were met with an easy grin; it was clear the guy was a little flustered, and the affable archer couldn’t blame him! Any bigheadedness at being a Titan was absent; Speedy had always been this way about just being himself.
“Sad to say, but trust doesn’t come free these days. I’m a firm believer in benefit of the doubt though. Close enough, right, bud?” Not much was known about the kid yet, so the ‘homework’ had been skimming the police report thus far, including the ones Jason had tried to file with the authorities about the disastrous results should his visions not be taken seriously. It was surprising that he'd given them a direct link to his bio, what with Officer Fletcher cited personally as his father. Claimed psychic abilities, too, good to know.
“You’re too kind~.” Once successfully kidnapped secured, the ginger ale-logged ginger’s role was simply to listen, as intended. Taking a spin in the free swivel-chair across from his interlocutor, the mask made full use of the speech however to examine his surroundings, as well as possible routes of escape in case his listening support model didn’t pan out and this relative unknown became not only too zany to handle on his own but had additional tricky powers to boot. It helped that his aim of gaze was rather shielded by the domino mask, otherwise, posture forward, fingers interlaced as his elbows rested, supported on his knees facing Fletcher, Speedy was the picture of focus. He ran his thumbs over his T.Comm. swiftly, sending the alias through the Titans' Database because Speedy had certainly not heard of this guy before. Either the computer or another teammate could ping him back with the results. “Hey, everyone needs practice now and then, right? Don’t sweat it, M.H. Nothing broke, right?” As if the main ability Jason had laid claim to and others that might arise (and were arising) from this conversation weren’t cause enough for alarm. The reason for the lockdown, based on the police report Beaks had filled out based on the kid’s claims, were that a maintenance had to be performed on one of the elevators; Speedy proposed a trade of sorts, as the boy’s eyes quit glowing and the previously flying tech and clutter in the space settled back down into normal gravitational steadiness.
“I’ve heard you; you’re trying to do the right thing, here. What the others are seeing as a nuisance, and what’s actually a breaking and entering offense, is your way of keeping people alive. That’s admirable and all, but we’re at a standstill with a problem waiting until whenever you decide to turn the power back on, right? Why don’t we prove you right? Get the others to go test that faulty wiring by the elevators while I get myself some future insurance?” A real threat or not, it wouldn't hurt to finally indulge the kid on several fronts, prevent him from becoming any more antagonistic than he already was. And in the case of his being legit with the power, then it would hurt if people got hurt.
He held out his hands and smiled, but not before glancing over his shoulder through the glass door to motion to the head of security to watch her phone for further instructions from this MasterHacker, as they were already informing his father of the criminality of his son's actions this morning.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
