Okay, this is something else I've been wanting to do, which is chat about character alignments. I might've put it off longer but Mordo asked about the alignments, and I think it's easier if I just summarise them here (though of course feel free to browse around and study the thousand different versions fo them for yourselves if you want -- my interpretation isn't the only one).
So, there are two axes of alignment: Good versus Evil and Law versus Chaos. Good and Evil are pretty much what they say, though they can be largely summarised as love/respect for others (Good) and disregard for or malice towards others (Evil). Good people go out of their way to help others; Evil people may not go out of their way to hurt others but they don't care if they do.
Law versus Chaos is more along the lines of order versus freedom. Lawful people like rules, organization, honour and the like. Chaotic people like freedom, spontaneity, individualism and "following your heart".
Together, they combine to form nine alignments: Lawful Good, Neutral Good (aka True Good), Chaotic Good, Lawful Neutral, True Neutral, Chaotic Neutral, Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil (aka True Evil), Chaotic Evil. Each alignment covers a wide array of personalities and beliefs, but I'll try to summarise each.
- Lawful Good: Seeks personal and social good through explicit moral codes and obedience to authority
- Neutral Good: Seeks to help others without preference for order or freedom
- Chaotic Good: Values liberty and tends to challenge rules and leaders
- Lawful Neutral: Values order but does not care so much about people
- True Neutral: Focused on personal goals, not caring much about others or about a greater social order or liberty
- Chaotic Neutral: Focused on personal freedom without special regard or disregard to others
- Lawful Evil: Values honour and organization but devalues people
- Neutral Evil: Selfish or malicious without a bent either for or against order
- Chaotic Evil: Asserts their own desires to the harm of others
Okay. Hopefully that suffices. ^^ And isn't too long. Now on tot he fun stuff.

Nocturne: Lawful Evil
Nocturne is pretty much the definitive Lawful Evil archetype of the Evil Overlord: ruthless, cruel, domineering; but orderly, opposed to senseless violence and needless lying. In her mind, she's following the natural order of things, and her goal is to make the world a better, more beautiful place -- according to her views, of course. Her greatest dislike is for treason, with disorderly behaviour a close second.
Candy: Chaotic Good
Candy's life is centered around making people happy. She will definitely go out fo her way to help someone, even someone she dislikes, if she can. In fact she's willing to risk her life to help people. But that ties into her being Chaotic as well, as that she is something of a risk-taker as well as an experimenter. She is (or is supposed to be) fun-loving and flirty, and doesn't mind getting into trouble so long as no-one is hurt. Also, while she's intelligent, she often follows her emotions before thinking something through.
Evil!Candy: Chaotic Evil
As a bonus, here's Candy's evil AU counterpart. She is more Chaotic than Evil, taking Candy's love of risk and thrills up to eleven, and doubling down on the flirtatiousness. However, there's no doubt she's evil as well. While her main goal remains making people happy, it's now in a more desctructive way. Enabling bad behaviour, altering people's minds so they can "enjoy" lfie more, deliberately creating chaos for the fun of it -- that's what she does for fun and profit. While not physically destructive herself, she gets a kick out of watching others wreak havoc -- as long as it's not her stuff that's damaged.
