Like a bird trapped in the gaze of a hungry snake Ink was rooted in place despite her bodies desire to flee from the pain that Ian's hands made as they touched her shoulder. They only broke contact to watch his hands as he ripped off part of his shirt for her. She accepted his gift with a small and pained smile. "That bad?" she tried to joke before putting the dusty cloth between her teeth.
Her heart raced as Ian placed himself in front of her, kneeling before her like the knight knew him to be. She tried to look no where but his calming serpentine eyes, but couldn't help glancing at his hands as they firmly grabbed her arm. She briefly saw his blood on her shoulder, but the cloth kept her from voicing her concern. Quickly she sought out his eyes again, feeling a childish fear that if she looked away for to long the pain would only be worse.
Even as he told her to relax, she shook like a leaf. Biting into the cloth and trying to take deep breaths she managed to relax a enough that she didn't run away at the last second. She wasn't ready for his eyes to leave hers when they did. She needed his eyes to stay locked on hers so she had somewhere to hide from the fire in her shoulder... She needed him. But instead of mercifully looking back, Ian focused on moving her arm. The pain was instantaneous and made her whimper as her hero just set her arm in place so he could actually help her. Once he started to move her wrist though the real screams began, muffled though they were by her tightly clenched teeth.
She felt a pain so deep that no words could describe the agony of her inflamed shoulder moving against her will. Only the force of his hands kept her from writhing. The pain consumed her until finally... The joint realigned with a loud pop and everything else snapped back into place.
Then it was gone, all the pain of the past few days vanished. Leaving her body might sore and tired, but also fixed. She could breath again with out it hurting, her tears and screams turned to laughter. "Oh Ian!" she gasped "Yea fixed et!" Without thinking she moved to a kneeling position as well and hugged her knight, tears of relief and joy falling from her eyes. It just felt so good to not feel that pain.
Once the initial wave of joy was done her tears dried themselves on his shirt and her face, and she hugged him a bit tighter. With all the stress of these games the human contact was something she craved. Just once she wanted to be a team again, to have someone she could trust her back to completely. "Ian ah dant think ah can dae this." she whispered into his shoulder. "Ah cant kill mae team... Ah just... Ah cant.... Ah cant kill mae family. Or those ah love."
