**I feel I need to put a trigger warning; brief mention of suicidal intent in the first paragraph by the end. It starts from "In the moment" down to the end of the paragraph so skip it if it helps, or just that entire paragraph maybe.

Somewhere amid the grief she understood what he was saying. She wasn't in the right mindset to question it, as she sobbed and had a hard time reconciling that he would be gone. Her dear friend. Her most cherished person. She'd be with him soon. It was love that gave her the strength to perform this act, though at the same time it killed her. In the moment nothing seemed to matter. The city, this game, her life, when he faded from her it was like he took everything with him and she was left only with despair. Had Jaime not come when he did to sit beside her, the calming presence in a storm of unhappiness, she could have very well taken that sword and ended her life.
For the sake of the people, she seemed to remember. There couldn't be many more of them left. He was sorry. She understood this to be a remark of sympathy, not guilt. No, none of them were guilty for what they had done. She needed time to let him go, didn't want to move as she cradled the body. Her friends, her Robin, they were all gone so fast and she just...needed...some time to mourn them. Though she realized the longer she stayed, the longer she prolonged her own pain. She kissed the top of his forehead and set him down, next to Batgirl.
Shaky she stood to her feet and looked over the four with heavy eyes. "We have to end this," she told Jaime, the only one now who could still hear her, with a cracked voice. "There is one other left. I will remain your ally until the end."
Starfire couldn't ask of him the same Robin did her. If she survived the next encounter, she would find a way to spare him that. "Let us go find the survivor." She didn't take the sword with her--she couldn't bear to hold it again. She turned her back to the scene, and walked away.
