The Hailite Building

He checked his communicator, foot propped up on the edge of the adjacent building to the Hailite Building before him. Speedy, slick in black ops night-blend gear and a black tuke to hide his shock of red hair, was ready for this thing to go down. His team consisted of Manipulation and Beast Boy, and he'd be taking the opposite route in than Robin's team. Beast Boy would technically be team leader since he knew the scope of the area. To tell the truth, dressed up all dark and handsome like this made him feel well...sorta like Bats. Or at least Robin pretending to be Bats.
"I am...the Night." he whispered, then giggled in spite of himself. It had been a long time since any hero-ing went down. He was ready.

Beast Boy, in typical hero garb, crouched next to the giggling Speedy. He idly tossed his communicator with his right hand, waiting for Robin to signal that his team had entered the Hailite Building. That was when BB and his group would enter in behind the Boy Wonder and provide cover before branching off for a side mission of their own.

/His/ team. Although Beast Boy was content to follow orders, it felt nice being in charge of something again. His leadership skills were rarely called upon, but when they were, the changeling took on a more serious persona. His pointed ears twitched a bit in response to Speedy's behavior, and his green eyes narrowed slightly.

"I think the /Night/ is usually silent," he whispered warningly. Honestly, being silly was usually his job.

Manipulation was crouched on Speedy's other side. She wore a rather form-fitting black leather suit, similar to Catwoman's except for the fact that there was no zipper in the front; just a deep plunging neckline. Her boots were black leather as well, and reached thigh-high on the young woman. Her hair had been brushed into a sleek, professional bun with not a hair out of place. "I agree with BB," the woman breathed, giving Speedy a quick warning glare. "I'm not about to jeapordize this mission with Mr. Night here getting all giddy like a school girl," she added in a whisper, looking at her own communicator, before clipping it back on her black belt that hung loosely against her broad hips.

Mani looked to their leader, her little BB, and nodded. She had already made it clear once before that she was in no mood to play around, and with both she and BB in a more serious persona, it would be hard having any fun with those two around. Mei was still in a rather pissy mood with the whole Wally thing, and was looking forward to being able to beat someone up as a way to vent her powerful emotions. Until then, she could remain silent, the only noise coming from her was the soft sound she made when she was breathing.

Iris stayed close by robins and ravens side. something was diffrent this time. she knew her way befor but now it seemed foggy again but not for the same reason. things had seemed to have shifted halls that used to be there wheren't anymore. what happened to make it like this. "This isnt right." she sounded concerned "its like the floors shifted i never rememberd this area of it." she would have known to.

In truth, Robin didn't like to have a plan, he as the sort of person who worked without a net. In a team setting this simply wouldn't work, though, and so Robin had put a great deal of thought into this plan that was currently unfolding. He and Batgirl had come in earlier pretending to be prospective medical students at the college before slipping into the air ducts to wait until the building closed. Robin had come out of his air duct stiff and uncomfortable but adrenaline had chased the stiffness away and now he was raring to go. The first thing he did was disengage the security system while he had Babs watch his back. It had been easy to disarm. Almost too easy, but that was besides the point.

Next had come Raven and Iris. They had told them to meet them by the windows in the bathroom that were too high for normal people to feasibly crawl through. Robin had opened the windows permanently (read broke) and waited impatiently for Raven to help Iris through the windows. Once they were through he had initiated the next part of his plan, stepping aside to let Iris, who knew the place better, take point.

Now they were following Iris through the halls. He gave the other team the signal, hitting his communicator once so it sent the message to Beast Boy and then shutting it off so it wouldn't give anything away. Hopefully the other team would distract anything that would have come to stop them from finding the keys. The Boy Wonder tensed when Iris spoke and glanced at her, his masked eyes narrowing in agitation. “Try to remember.” he urged the girl, knowing just how hard it was to come back to a place where you had been hurt beyond all reckoning. “Did we take a wrong turn?” he tried to visualize the blueprints he'd been studying of the place. There were only so many halls they could go through on this floor. It couldn't have been a wrong turn.

Closeing her eyes she felt the walls. she could feel difrent vibrasoins and sound.... she recidnized only one. "runing water.... going to the right and down it feels.." she mutterd she was getting a mental image of the buildings layout. " ok I know where we are follow me. " with a bit of hesitasoin she led them down the hall and to a stairway. right benith it was a clear pannle she punched in something and a door opened. " this is it..."

"Woahh, don't scratch me now CatWoman. Come on, guys, just because it's past midnight doesn't mean we can't lighten up." Kid Flash would've laughed at that one. Or maybe the Joker. He shook that thought out of his head; it would be super scary actually being The (K)night if he had to deal with that mess. Robin's signal came in sent solely to BB's communicator, and Speedy's grin changed immediately into a solemn thin line.
"Robbot called in; it's go time."
They were to take an Easterly entrance from the roof level to keep the nightguards from being alerted on the ground. For starters, Speedy aimed a steel-cable shot clamp arrow at the Hailite Building's uppermost railing. He would use his bow to glide across since the building they were on was taller than Hailite. He knew Mani could just use her vines, and Beast Boy was a flyer, but he asked the girl anyway if only to get a rise out of her. Attaching the end of the clamp arrow to the building they stood atop and attaching his bow to the cable, he winked at Mei.
"Gliding my way kittycat?"
It was time to storm the castle.

A small blip on the communicator disturbed the silence surrounding Beast Boy and his companions. He accepted the signal and then turned the communicator off, touching Mani and Speedy on the shoulder.

"That's our cue," he muttered, leading the way to a rarely used door that connected to a low-fund part of the Hailite Building. He had not dared to use the same route he and Iris had used to first enter the building, so earlier he had scoped out a different entrance. Crouching in front of the door, Beast Boy shifted into a rat and squeezed underneath. There was a moment of silence, and then the door opened from the inside.

"Robin and the others will be on the upper floors. We've got a head start on them," BB whispered to Speedy and Mani, meaning that since they were on the ground floor, he and his team would have the time to move stealthily.

Disarming the security system had been easy. Well, having Robin disarm the security system while she watched out for potential attackers had been easy. Pretending to be medical students before that had been fun. Robin had even looked pretty good in the garb, but she wasn't going to bring her social/love life into the mission. All that mattered now was getting those people out.

She brought up the rear, looking behind her repeatedly as they maneuvered through the halls. They were following Iris when she suddenly walked into Robin's backside, as she had been glancing behind them when they stopped. "Oof, sorry Robin." Babs whispered quietly as a small whooshing sound filled the corridor and a door opened before them.

The girl growled sharply, "With me and you, the cable would probably snap beneath out weight. Allow me. Ladies first, after all," she said jumping onto the thin cable, doing a serious of cartwheels and flips like it was nothing all the way across, stopping at the end to look back at Speedy. She raised her eyebrow, giving him an, 'Are you coming?' look, before turning back to the door opening. She nodded to BB, stepping down silently on the floor, looking back over her shoulder at Speedy, motioning for him to hurry.

"That's our cue," he muttered, watching as Speedy connected a wire in between their building and the Hailite building. He transformed into a raven and flew the distance between the building, leaving Mani to Speedy's incorrigible charms. Crouching in front of the door they were to enter through, Beast Boy shifted into a rat and squeezed underneath. There was a moment of silence, and then the door opened from the inside.

BB moved to the side to allow Mani to enter through, then waited for Speedy to follow. "Robin's probably already floors beneath us. Best move quickly."

Robin nodded and followed Iris down the hallway. They stopped in front of a door and Babs bumped into him. “Careful,” he hissed back to her as he turned to watch as Iris punched in some numbers and the door opened with a woosh. “Batgirl, guard the door. We'll be right back with the keys.” he said as he moved inside, carefully, taking the lead.

The Boy Wonder was startled when someone lashed out at him. He took a blow to the side of the head and fell to the side before recovering and charging at the person who had attacked them. It was too late, the person had already sounded the alarm. “Iris get the keys!” he called as he battled his attacker.

Raven's eyes lit up with the heat of battle, and she sought around for something to seize. Finding nothing in these barren hallways, she settled for a force of pure energy, sending it down the hallway and sparing nothing, thankful her team was behind and not in front of her.

"Robin," she called in a raspy whisper. "Are you okay?" She reached a hand out to him, to pull him to his feet and then squared off, ready to face whatever might come next.

If Beast Boy hadn't turned into a bat to flap around the halls in, he probably wouldn't have heard the sounds of a scuffle a few floors beneath their feet. Turning back into a human, he whispered, "Robin's team is in trouble. We've gotta find them and help them."

Although breaking through the floor was probably the swiftest way, it was already tiring and would draw the most attention; thus, he turned to Speedy and Mani for ideas.

"Next stop, Scratching Post if I don't behave, huh doll."
Speedy grinned and shrugged, murmuring his cheeky line at Mei after landing on the other side and following the other two's lead. He couldn't help it if one pretty girl every once in a while didn't want to swoop down into danger nestled in his bosom during dangerous missions. He's have to review his Bond anthology later to improve.
"They're getting the keys at this point, right? At the sound of things, I think we'd better work our way down as quickly as possible." The sound of things was the alarm sounding off, prompting several night-guards with electric cattle-prod-styled apparatus to appear from the security booth stations lining the BB team entrance point.
"Nice of you fellas to grace us with your presence..but I don't really dance with other guys." He was shooting punching-glove arrows as he quipped, and one was sent at the elevator button across the hall. They were getting into close combat situation now.
"You two get a move-on; I'll catch up. Gotta work on my kickboxing for the next time Robbot's free to spar." Speedy dropped his precious bow and quiver and lashed out at the nearest security personnel, winding his arm with pointer extended to motion the others toward the escape route.
