"No," Raven answered, settling herself against a tree trunk uncomfortably for the wait. "Robin gave me orders. If I don't follow them, he can't trust me. Simple." She crossed her arms, then looked at Iris. "So your powers.... What can you do?"

The guards thinned and eventually stopped coming at them. She was battered all over and Barbara was practically wheezing by the time the last man had fallen. Maybe she should have kept up on her morning workouts like she had done when Robin was with her and the big man. Every morning she would join him in his own daily workouts, but she didn't know if that would be possible now. He was so obsessed with Starfire, he would probably think that it meant more thanit really did. But this was her first time out with the Titans and she was already tired. Taking a big breath, she steadied herself before taking off after Robin and Beast Boy, thankful that Raven was taking care of Iris. Now all they needed to do was free the prisoners in the levels beneath.

"Thanks, Kitty, I try." he mused at Mei. He acknowledged Robin's greetings with a sly smile and a thumbs up before taking out a couple more guards' electric prods with his Sonic Arrows.
Manipulation, Batgirl and Beast Boy were scrambling down to the lower levels now as per the Top Dog's orders, behind the Chief. Robin always barked the loudest in a bind, but now that it was over, his words didn't quite reach Speedy. He was too busy asking Babs if she was doing alright; the girl seemed about as winded as him.
"Meet you tomorrow mornin' for an intervention jog 'round the block, Little Mermaid. It's a date." he declared, not really asking her opinion.
"If you can still move tomorrow that is. I won't hold my breath." he chuckled, teasing her now. If Raven had been around he wouldn't have had the chance; she was always floating everywhere and didn't have the chance to be physically tired. He might've offered HER well, oh, say, a relaxing massage or something to deal with her mental stress from using her powers.Anyway.
He heard enough of Robin's orders however to follow backwards, striking down any oppressors who came to again with a volley of Net Arrows as a backup measure. No need for fighting near the probably weak prisoners in the lower levels.

Mani nodded, moving towards the lower levels quickly with Babs and BB. However, her ears perked when she heard a certain someone flirting with the wrong girl. She turned sharply, not saying a word, but gave Speedy a look that could kill, as if a warning to him to remain truthful to her friend. Her mint green eyes glowed, before she turned, continuing back down the levels, mines wrapped around her arms in case of need for some quick action. Her pointed ears perked, but she did not hear much, her demeanor shifting a bit more to the relaxed side. However, she remained close to her team mates. None of them were getting hurt on her watch. Especially, Beast Boy. The girl had practically adopted the kid, making sure he ate his vegetables, telling him when he had to go to bed, and even made his bed in the morning. She felt responsible for him, and she could understand that being green was a hard thing. Considering the fact that she was born with green skin, that is.

Raven listened intently to Iris explain her powers, watching her all the while from underneath the shadow of her hood. When the other girl finished speaking, Raven stood up.

"Come here," Raven said in a complete change of subject. She stepped over to the younger girl, gently wrapped her cold hands around her neck, and closed her glowing white eyes. With a whisper of words that were not of Earth, Raven stole the other girl's pain into her own body, wincing ever so slightly. It wasn't too bad, just a little twinge, and then Iris's neck was smooth again, just a slender pink line where the cut had torn through.

Raven opened her eyes again and looked down at Iris.

"Crystals, huh? Wanna show me?"

she came over and as a but suprised her wound was heald compleatly practicly... "thank you" she smiled slitely so not to ofend her or something. she looked around and saw a dead tree just lieing there " ok sure" she held out her hand and sudenly the tree moved it was coated with crystal at first then closeing her hand it flahed and turned into solid amethyst she closed her eyes pictureing a raven and how it flew . the next thing that happed was it started to move almost as if it was water and took the form from her mind and shaped into a raven. "well its not my best im still geting the hang of shapeing it but what do you think? "

Raven watched the tree trunk slowly coat itself in crystal, turning into an amethyst raven before her very eyes. She nodded, and whistled a low whistle.

"I'm impressed," she remarked, walking over to study the girl's work. "You've got some real power, Iris...."

She looked back at the young girl.

"And you can't fight with these?" She couldn't help but wonder, considering they were the only two team members who were standing outside the fight, outside the building altogether.

"...ive tryed but. thing is my mind isnt calm... my aime at moveing ojests is off... i may acidently crystalise a team member if im not carefull" she sighed. it was hard true she could try to fight but she didnt want to hurt anyone with her powers. "..i almost killed someone once in spareing at the lab....my power is dangurus and unstable for me right now... im still learning how to revers the efects if it happens again...its to risky"

"Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" Speedy was being a pain and he knew it. This was almost like a group outing for him, like they were going college roadtripping. They hadn't been out on a high-priority mission like this in quite some time. It seemed like they were passing some pretty silent quarters, but he had a few Net Arrows left and was following them backwards, only momentarily, occasionally looking back over his shoulder now and then, making sure not to crash into the others. These lower levels the group had reached were lined with doors harbouring either sleeping or moaning experimented-on kids and quite frankly, it was disgusting. And a little creepy. Couldn't Beast Boy unlock a little faster for each individual of the rescue team to go to town on the scientists who might be lurking within, most likely the rooms giving off pitiful moaning sounds? Perhaps if they were lucky though, they would find only abandoned experimentees. The air down here was dense with the suggestion of harmful toxins likely used on the test subjects to test their strengths and weaknesses. Amidst all this gloom, Speedy wanted to at least keep the mood light.

As light as it could be, considering the circumstances.

“Speedy I swear if you don't stop I'll incapacitate you and leave you here.” Robin was started to get annoyed with the archer. It hadn't even been funny the first time he said it. They were on a mission. The time for jokes was when you were sure you were going to win or when it would throw off the enemy. The Boy Wonder was currently on point, taking out the guards who came from the front just as Speedy was the rear guard. Whenever they took down a guard they either left them tied up with Mani's vines or Speedy's nets or Robin would enlist the help of the others and drag them to be locked in an empty room.

He had passed off the keys to Beast Boy and given orders for Mani to take out anything dangerous that came out of the doors Beast Boy opened with her vines. Then, Beast Boy and Batgirl were to locate and free any experiments they could find. These experiments were to join their little herd (that was now reaching close to ten) if they could walk, and if they couldn't Robin had given Raven a heads up via communicator that they would need her help for transport. It was incredibly slow going down the hallway and Robin didn't like it one bit. But, this was the fastest they could go opening one door on one side and then the other on the other side before moving the few feet between doors.

He used another of his birdarangs to take out a guard, before catching it easily in one hand. “We've got some more coming,” he warned the people behind him as he sprang into action. He dodged a tazer-on-a-stick before smashing his fist into the man's face and turning to knock the tazer stick out of the hands of the guard besides that one. What he didn't see, however, was at that same moment another guard had brought their tazer around and got him in the side. Robin fell to the ground convulsing from the electricity going through his body. Damn was all he somehow managed to think through the pain.

As she stood there holding her sides, she was surprised when Speedy addressed her. "Yeah... I'm.... fine...." She panted. Nodding when he said that he'd meet her for a morning jog, she smiled as he said the words 'it's a date'. Well, she had a date with Speedy now. She wondered how Raven would feel about that. Even if it was just jogging. She set off behind the rest of the gang, taking out any guards that happened to be following them with Speedy at her side.

When Robin ordered that she go with Beast Boy to find any other experiments, she groaned inwardly. She wanted to be where the action was, not freeing captives. Feeling it would be best to obey orders, she led the way down the halls to where any captives would be. "Beast Boy... I can't see down here. Do you see anybody?"

[Kenni]

"Alright Alright, Sonic. Don't get your utility belt in a bunch." Speedy was completely confident they'd be in and out of here within a good half hour more or less. They all had great abilities and stamina, even if he and Babs were feeling a bit short-circuited. He got an idea, and shouted out to Beast Boy, currently employed in letting the small squads into each room to rescue the imprisoned. Shooting a few regular arrows at the fresh supply of tasing nightguards rounding up on them from the corner, he called out.
"J.Beabst! Can't you go Squidlad or Octo Guy on these doors with the doorkeys? Efficiency, man. Efficiency. I'm sure our little scientist friends want about as little a time together as we want with them."

[Bry]

"Hmmm," was all Raven replied to the young girl, still looking over the crystalline statue. She smirked to herself; ravens were so beautiful.

Snorting a little, she turned away from the statue and looked to the buildling, getting antsy doing nothing. She shifted after a moment, from foot to foot, and snatched her communicator from where it hung on her belt. Pressing the button, she opened her mouth to ask for an update.

And received orders to help with transportation.

Half a smile tugged on her mouth. Finally she was back in the game....

But there was still the subject of Iris's safety.

Raven turned and looked at the young girl, weighing her options. She'd been charged with keeping their newest member safe, and it wasn't an order she took lightly. Could she honestly bring her back into the building then? She frowned. Could she leave her here?

Which was better? Which was safer?

Raven glanced around at the building again. A single guard was still up and about and oblivious, patrolling and thinking he was doing a great job. If Iris was left here.... If the guard found her....

She blew air through her mouth in frustration before snapping to a decision.

"Iris, here's the deal," she said, turning towards the girl for the second time. "I need you to de-crystallize the statue, if you can, and then you're sticking to me like a shadow. Understood? We're heading back inside."

After all, better to keep an eye on her, right? Just like she had with her kids, Timmy, Mel, and Teether.

/Honestly, if Robin keeps putting me in charge of the younger ones, I'll turn into a freaking mother figure, I swear..../

Iris nodded " It wont be easy but i will try." this was one of the things she wasnt good at. sure she could when she was calm and all but the right way of it it takes time... "one thing you should know......if it shatters and a persons in it.....they also will......" she put her hands together trying to remember how she had done it before it seemed to melt. like an ilusoison. the area around it almost seemed warped. slowly the raven turned into wood. she opened one eye. "well thats done lets go and i'll try not to get in your way."
