"Yeah, don't worry. I could always swim out and carry you back." Brock chuckled a little at the thought. "You could ride on my back like a dolphin or something." Hellsmith floated lazily around her, a big grin on his face. Maggie seemed to be turning a little pink. That was good, and it had been pretty consistent throughout that date. Big smile and a noticeable blush, he was setting the perfect mood apparently.
Hellsmith burst out laughing at the idea of fighting a sea monster for her. He had to admit, that would be pretty badass. Maybe he should try that sometime, could be good to impress her. "Might need to go full power, but yeah. I got you covered." He gave her a reassuring grin and a wink, flexing an arm for her.
"Really? Dawww, thanks." Maggie said, smiling as Brock said that he would swim out and carry her back. Thats soo romantic and sweet! Maggie thought, biting back a squeal as she watched him float around her. She smiled, and let herself float and relax. However, in hearing him laugh she looked at him, pushing her wet hair out of her face.
"Glad to hear that and ooh, full power. Sounds dangerous," Maggie said, grinning as she listened to him laugh and laughing herself when he flexed an arm for her. And it was impressive looking, as per usual. "Gosh, how often do you work out? I mean, thats hardly even fair!" Maggie said as she indicated his muscles, honestly curious. Did he work out or did they just come with the super strength?
Hellsmith set up floating, relaxing a bit. Maggie seemed barely able to contain her excitement. Brock was doing a better job of keeping his cool. He was used to running around on ladies like this, he'd gotten used to staying chill. Maggie seemed newer to the dating scene. She probably had some experience, but not as much as he did.
"Yeah, I don't use my full power much. Don't really need it most of the time." He usually tried to stay in his human form. The amount of power Hellsmith's true form gave him made most fights too easy. It got boring if he could just bulldoze everyone. "And I don't really have like, a workout schedule. I just carry stuff around. I think it's mostly the power, really. Comes standard with it. I mean I was in good shape before I got my powers, but the mega muscles came with it." He stretched out, floating on his back. Maggie's reactions to his muscles never got old.
Should of brought a pool noodle or one of those inflatable pool rafts, Maggie thought as she stayed afloat, watching Brock as he stayed afloat. Not that she was getting tired, but when you have short legs like hers swimming took some energy.
"Only when you really need it, right? Desperate times call for desperate messures type of thing, right?" Maggie asked, listening with care. "Thats mighty lucky and it sure does make you look good," Maggie admitted, that impish smile appearing once more as she started to splash Brock, once more laughing.
Hellsmith was still going strong, but Maggie looked like she might be tiring. It made sense, her powers were mental, not physical. She didn't have the sheer endurance that he had. He floated over closer, drifting next to her. "Want a lift back to shore?" He patted his stomach, offering her a seat. "I can backstroke us in." That, and he wouldn't mind some close contact with Maggie.
"Yeah, and it gets boring if I just go all-out. No challenge, you know?" Thinking about it, she probably didn't know. Maggie wasn't a fighter like he was. At least she had a good appreciation for the finer things in life. His physique, for instance. Hellsmith grinned, flexing a few muscles for her. "Thanks sweetie." he said with a wink.
Okay, maybe she wasn't so tired after all. Maggie was getting frisky again, splashing him. Hellsmith laughed, splashing at her with one hand. He didn't fight back too much, not wanting to ruin the whole chill floating thing he had going on.
"I'm good right now, but perhaps later," Maggie said with a squeal as Brock splashed her back, continuing to splash Brock back. She was having fun, and from his laughter Maggie could only assume that he was.
As he spoke about fighting and how it gets boring if he went full power all the time, Maggie paused, thinking it over. To her that seemed silly and impractical, for who would honestly want to make a fight last longer than it needed to be? However, seeing that it was Brock it somewhat made sense. "Not really, but I do think I understand what you're getting at with it. I don't know, it might just be a fighter thing, right?" Maggie said, once more blushing as he called her sweetie and laughing when he flexed his muscles for her.
Brock chuckled, enjoying the splash war. This was pretty fun, chilling out with Maggie like this. She was generally a fun girl to be around, and he certainly didn't mind the view. Granted, the view was better when the water wasn't quite as deep, but they could get back to that in good time.
He tried to think of a way to explain it. Maggie wasn't a fighter, she didn't get the whole idea behind it. "It's like... Lessee, you're the brainy type, right? It's like if you're doing some puzzle stuff, you don't wanna do the really easy little kid stuff, it's boring. So you do the tricky ones." It was an imperfect comparison, but it was the best he could think of. Unlike Maggie, Hellsmith most definitely was not the brainy type. They were lucky he'd come up with an explanation that made any kind of sense. Regardless, she seemed to be enjoying his company. The blushing was continuing, that was pretty good.
Maggie stopped the splash war and listened to him try to explain himself and why he fought the way he did, tilting her head as she thought about it. "So using your abilities at full strength is like doing a childs puzzle? Is that right?" Maggie questioned, thinking it over once more. She started swimming in a circle around him as she thought it over before swimming up behind him and wrapping her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his left shoulder.
"So fighting without your full strength lets you see how strong you are? Or you see fighting as simply a game that you want to with without your power ups?" Maggie asked, lifting her head to look at him. Luckily he was a physical type and had the endurance and strength to keep on swimming. Maggie, on the other hand, did not.
"Yeah, there's no real challenge to it." He had been just as skeptical when he'd first heard of the idea, but it had grown on him. Once you got used to it, there was really no other way to fight. Winning so easily was just boring. "I learned it from a mentor of mine, Mr. Knight. He always wore a sword on his belt, but I never saw him draw it. He said it would make things too easy, so he picked up weapons as he fought and improvised." Hellsmith had some mixed feelings about his old mentor. One the one hand, he respected The Knight. He was skilled, clever, and honorable. On the other hand, he was downright terrifying.
Maggie put her arms around his neck, and Hellsmith grinned. He had been hoping for this sort of contact. Or a little more. Okay, a lot more, but this was a nice start. He floated, easily supporting Maggie. "A little bit of both, I guess. Mr. Knight told me that I should always test myself. Guess I took it to heart." He leaned his head back, putting his face next to Maggie's. "Wanna head back to shore now?"
Maggie listened as Brock spoke about how there wasn't much of a challenge when he used his full strength and about his old mentor. Maggie wondered about this mentor, especially on why on earth this Mr. Knight carried around a sword. Wouldn't a gun be better and easier to carry? Or one of those staff things if he didn't like guns? However Maggie kept those questions to herself, to perhaps save for a later day.
"Sounds like hes a pretty wise guy, this Mr. Knight." Maggie observed, wondering where exactly this Mr. Knight lived and maybe meet him. Find out how he and Brock met. "So, did he teach you all sorts of cool moves and whatnot?" Maggie asked with a bright smile, nodding her head as he asked if she wanted to head back to shore now. She let go of him, giving him a impish smile as she started to swim back as fast as she could.
"Yeah, he's pretty smart. He's like, eight thousand years old or something. He knows stuff." Hellsmith really didn't understand half of what Knight said. The older demon was full of wisdom, and Brock REALLY wasn't good at wisdom. He had just nodded and watched the fighting stuff. "Yeah, some cool stuff, but he knows pretty much everything about fighting. Might take a while to catch up." He chuckled at the thought. Catching up with Mr. Knight was pretty much impossible.
He grinned, turning over to swim after her. "Oh, it is so on!" Hellsmith was torn here. On the one hand, the view was pretty nice following her. On the other hand, his competitive side didn't want to lose, especially to someone with no physical powers. Eventually his ego won out, and he kicked it into high gear. Hellsmith's strength carried him past her, arriving at shore before Maggie. He stood up, waiting for her to join him.
"Wait, he's how old?" Maggie asked, looking at Brock as he stated how old Mr. Knight was, confusion written all over her face. Hes eight thousand years old? What? That isn't possible, Maggie thought, keeping it in mind as she swam towards the beach.
Maggie swam as fast as she could, thinking that Brock would barely let her win. However, it appeared that his competitive side won out because he swam past her, surprizing her quite a bit. Would think he had super speed or something, Maggie thought as she finally reached the shore, standing up and walking the rest of the way to Brocks side, smiling.
"Sweet mother of pearl you're fast. Sure you don't have super speed too?" Maggie asked, looking up at him with a weak smile. She was going to feel the burn tomorrow.
Hellsmith didn't notice her confusion about Mr. Knight. He was a little distracted at the time, checking out Maggie and all. The boy had his priorities, that was for sure.
He stood in the shallower water, grinning. Maggie sure was good at flattering him. Hellsmith just shrugged. "No super speed, it's just the strength lets me get pretty far with a push. I guess I kind of cheated." Maggie had already gotten pretty close, and Brock was sure appreciating that right about now. He smiled down at her, putting an arm around her shoulder. Maggie was looking pretty tired, maybe she needed a rest. "So, what should we do now?" He had a playful grin on his face. If she needed a rest he was cool with that, but Brock had a few other ideas of things they could do. He wasn't sure if Maggie was too proper for some of them, but she'd seemed pretty forward so far so he had his hopes up.
"Once again, you're powers are way better than mine," Maggie stated, looking Brock up and down before looking back at his face. "And it wasn't cheating. You were just doing what you do best," She said, shrugging her shoulders. Luckily she wasn't the competitive type unless it had to deal with football.
Football is serious stuff and should always be taken seriously.
"Not sure. I'm cool with anything, really, and I think you already have something in mind, don't ya?" Maggie questioned as she looked up at him, looking at that playful grin on his face that soon echoed onto hers. Pleasedontmakemerun, pleasedontmakemerun Maggie thought, knowing that she was going to be sore in the morning just from that swim. She wasn't much of an exercise girl, but was doing her best infront of Brock.
"Hey, don't knock brainy powers. They're really useful and stuff." Flattering her powers a bit never hurt. Maggie seemed really to not appreciate her powers. Hellsmith himself wasn't sure what her powers would be good for, but he wasn't really in this for honesty. Maggie liked being buttered up like that, so he planned to keep doing it.
He shrugged at Maggie's question. She didn't seem the type to go along with it if he just said what was on his mind, but maybe they could work towards it. She seemed in a playful mood, maybe that could be a start. "Well, my schedule's pretty open. We could see where the day takes us." He picked her up, walking towards land with Maggie in a bridal carry. "But right now you look sort of tired, how about we get back to those towels and rest a bit?"

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
