Once more the sun was rising over the horizon, painting the city in gold and revealing all its beauty to the world. The best view of this was on the beach, yet Maggie Blythe wasn't paying attention to it at all.
Once more she was sitting on the beach, laying out on a beach towel as she waited, working on not looking as though she was waiting for someone yet instead just relaxing on the beach. She was dressed in a black monokini worn under denim shorts and a button-down white shirt that was left unbuttoned with turquoise gladiator sandals that were already off and next to her bag. She wore a pair of sunglasses, which helped hide her scanning eyes as she nibbled on her bottom lip.
Chill out Maggie, relax. He'll be here. He said he'll be here so he'll be here. Maggie thought to herself, working on keeping her cool as she checked her hair, glad that it was staying in its elaborate bun. She took a deep breath, willing herself to relax as she looked towards the rising sun. If hes not here in five minutes, then you can leave and have Kaie track him down, Maggie promised herself, which did quite a bit to make her relax.
In hindsight, Hellsmith probably should have paid more attention to what time their meeting was supposed to be. When he arrived on the beach, Maggie was already waiting, and she looked a bit anxious. Good thing he'd gotten there when he did, she looked like she was a few minutes short of leaving. He would have hated to miss seeing her in a swimsuit. She still seemed to be wearing regular clothes over it, but he hoped they would fix that soon.
Brock stepped out onto the beach, waving for Maggie. He was already dressed for the situation. He was wearing a pair of red swim trunks and the same pair of sandals he'd had the day before. Other than that, his only adornment was the towel slung over his shoulder. Brock strolled over to her, spreading out the towel next to Maggie's and kicking off his sandals. "Looking good!" he said, turning to Maggie with a smile on his face.
Maggie had been seconds from leaving when someone approached her and spread out a towel next to her, making themselves right at home. She only had to give a glance to realize who it was, which brought a smile on her face. Brock. "Thanks, and right back at ya." Maggie said as she looked up at him, unable to stop smiling. Bout time he showed up, Maggie thought, looking him up and down.
He was good looking, wearing a pair of red swim trunks that showed him off all too well. Kaie would be going nuts if she saw him, Maggie thought as she grinned. "So, what have you done since yesterday?" Maggie asked, taking off her over clothes until she was simply in her black monokini.
"Ready for our swim?" Maggie asked, smirking at him as she stood up.
Maggie seemed pretty pleased to see him. Whether it was the flattery, his presence, or just the skin he was showing, she couldn't get the smile off her face. He grinned back. "Thanks Maggie." It seemed like she'd been even closer to leaving than he'd realized. She set up camp again, and Hellsmith waited patiently. He could see her checking him out a bit, so the demon decided to give her a show. Pretending not to notice, he started stretching out a bit.
Maggie got down to her swimsuit, and it was Brock's turn to check her out. It was a nice suit, and she wore it well. He let out a quiet "Wow." as he looked her over. Then he remembered she had just asked him something. Should probably answer that sometime soon. "Oh, not too much. Just hanging around mostly, you?" He started to head down to the water, lagging a little behind her. Brock was taking his time, enjoying the sights a bit. "Ready as I'll ever be."
He noticed Maggie thought as she watched him stretched, looking away and blushing. She honestly enjoyed this, the casual displays and looks between the two of them. It was flattering and an ego boost, which made this all the more easier to be around him. "You like?" Maggie asked him in response to his quiet wow. Wow was good.
Wow was very good.
"Same. Been talking to my friend, you remember, the one on the Titans? Been helping her for her upcoming date but otherwise very calm." Maggie said as she walked into the water, letting out a squeak at how cold it was when it reached her hips. "Waters great!" Maggie said cheerfully, working on gaining enough courage to simply dive in and get it over with.
Oh yeah, she was definitely checking him out. Hellsmith got a big smile on his face when she looked away, blushing. It seemed she was fond of the more muscular types. He wondered if she would like his true form, but it was probably a bit much for a second date. He could always show her later. "I like a lot." He gave her a wink.
Brock followed her into the water, sitting down to get himself used to it. It was a bit of a shock, but he just wanted to get it over with. Maggie seemed a little more hesitant, slowly getting herself used to the water. "Cool. So who's the happy couple?" He was a little curious. Superhero gossip was big in this town, he had read enough Cat Grant to know that. Maybe he could get a scoop before anyone else. Hellsmith stood again, going to stand beside Maggie. Grinning playfully, he gave her a little splash.
"Good. Hoped you would," Maggie said as he gave her a wink. She knew he was checking her out, feeling his eyes looking over her. And yet she was fine with it though many possibly wouldn't be.
When Brock asked who the happy couple was, Maggie paused. Should I tell him? It wouldn't hurt them, would it? Maggie thought, worried that if she told him who exactly they were that it might put them into danger. He wouldn't do anything to hurt them. Hes a lone wolf but wouldn't purposely hurt anyone else, would he? Maggie stayed silent, thinking it over before finally speaking. "Shes known as Rumble and hes known as Beast Boy." Maggie finally said, looking up at Brock and studying him.
However, the seriousness and all its intensity left her features as he playfully splashed her. "Hey!" Maggie called out, and splashed him back with a laugh.
Brock was a little taken aback. He had seen the news, he knew who Rumble was. She was by far the tallest Titan, and if Beastboy wasn't the shortest he was darn close. Just thinking of the mechanics of that baffled him. How would they- never mind, it was funny. Hellsmith choked back a laugh. "That's an odd couple all right." Maggie seemed super serious for some reason. Did she not see what comedy gold this was?
Then the seriousness went right out the window when the splashfight started. Hellsmith laughed, splashing back a bit. Maggie was getting into the spirit of things, but he didn't want to go overboard. Superstrength could be problematic if you didn't keep it under control. He had a good thing going here, and he didn't want to ruin it. There was a cute girl here in a wet swimsuit, totally checking him out. No way he was gonna screw that up. "Well you were taking a while, so..."
Maggie watched as Brock faught against a laugh, watching him curiously. "Isn't it? Shes soo tall and hes average size, maybe a bit smaller though i'm not sure how tall he is. Like, shes going to have to lift him up to give him a kiss!" Maggie said with a laughing smile as she looked up at him. Which is what he would have to do unless you get some very high heels, Maggie thought as she looked down then back up at him.
"Don't tell anyone about them, okay? I don't know where they're headin and I don't want people fussin over them." Maggie stated, the seriousness back before slipping away with a slash. "Maybe I was waitin for you to make the first move," Maggie teased, sticking her tongue out. Yes, it was childish but Maggie thought it was fun and so there she was.
He grinned at her comment about the lift kiss. It gave him an idea. Her comment about him making the first move sealed the deal. She scampered away, and Hellsmith followed after. With his longer stride she wasn't too hard to catch. Brock picked Maggie up, holding her so they were about eye level. "Now that you mention it, they don't sound like such a bad idea." He gave her a quick kiss before setting her back down on her feet.
Hellsmith took a few steps away in the water, letting what had just happened sink in. He wasn't sure how she was going to take that, but from what she had said before it didn't seem like too much of a risk. Maggie had seemed interested and had pretty blatantly told him to make a move. He would just give her a second to figure out what the hell just happened.
What the- Maggie thought as Brock actually picked her up, holding her so that they were eye level with each other. I feel like a doll. Like a lil doll Maggie thought as her feet dangled above the ground. She was about to look down to see how far off the ground she was when he kissed her.
When he set her down Maggie simply stayed where she was with a sleepy smile on her face that wouldn't go away as it sunk in. Oh my gosh, he kissed me! Oooh Kaie is going to go nuts when I tell her! Maggie thought, turning away from Brock so she could get a hold of herself.
"Yeah, they don't sound that bad after all, do they?" Maggie asked after she finally turned around, looking back at Brock with a smile on her face.
Hellsmith turned back to her, grinning. She seemed to be pretty impressed by the kiss. It hadn't really been too much of a kiss, but it had had quite an effect on her. Maggie needed a minute to compose herself, turning her back. Hellsmith was pretty okay with that, all things considered.
Maggie turned to face Brock again, and he waded back over to her. There was a big smile on the girl's face. She seemed to be pretty satisfied with how things were going, and Hellsmith had to agree. This was going very well. He stood next to her, putting an arm over Maggie's shoulders. "Maybe we could follow their example some." He gave her a devilish grin. It was so tempting to slide his hand down, but he resisted the temptation. Maggie seemed a nice girl, she might take offense to that sort of thing and he would hate to mess this up.
Hes officially the hottest guy I have ever kissed, Maggie thought, making a mental list of all the guys she had kissed with Brock at the top. Not to say shes been with freakishly ugly guys before now, because shes been with some pretty good looking guys but none were quite a good looking as Brock. Course, that may just be the rose colored glasses she was wearing at the moment.
"Really? How so?" Maggie asked as she looked up at him, smirking as he put an arm over her shoulders. "Besides, shouldn't we be swimming now?" Maggie asked, an impish smile appearing as she dived into the deeper water and started to swim a good distance from him.
"Well, I can lift you pretty easily. As for what happens next..." He let Maggie fill in the blanks on that one. She seemed to really be getting into this. He could see her mind going. He wasn't sure what was going through it, but he had some ideas. Right about now, Hellsmith was regretting never learning to use telepathy in the physical world. What he wouldn't give to get a peek inside her mind right then...
"Guess we should." He dove in after her, swimming after. Maggie was a pretty good swimmer, but he had the strength advantage. Hellsmith could cover quite a bit of distance in the water. He caught up quickly, circling around in front of her. "You okay swimming out this far?" He was a little worried. Maggie being swept out to sea would be a pretty crappy end to their date.
Good thing the water was a bit chilly, for it managed to keep her blush at a minimum instead of making her face as red as a tomato. Mother of pearl , thank goodness he can't read minds! Maggie thought as she swam, willing away the blush as she looked over at him. He was fast, catching up to her with ease and circling around infront of her, which made her laugh.
"Don't worry, i'll be fine. I doubt you would let the water steal me away on our date," Maggie stated with a teasing grin. "Besides, i'm pretty sure you could beat the fudge out of anything else in the water, you know?" Maggie could picture him beating up a shark and flinging it through the air, which was quite an entertaining image that caused her to giggle. She was placing her safety and trust on Brock, not realizing how utterly foolish and dangerous it was.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
