Oh yeah, score. Apparently Maggie was a big fan of restraint. Well, restraint in some things. She hadn't been all too restrained a minute ago. Still, Brock had gotten another quick kiss out of the deal, and all he had to do was bend the truth a little. It wasn't a lie, strictly speaking. What he said was true, from a certain point of view.
Brock got a big smile when she complimented his smoke sword. He was particularly proud of that one, and it was nice to have a cutie like Maggie interested in one of his masterpieces. "Yeah, it was one of my favorites. It's only solid when it needs to be, so it passes through just about any defense. I mean there's some magic that can block it, but anything else and it goes right through." Maybe he was letting too many details slip, but right then he wasn't thinking about that. Maggie was interested in what he was saying, that was the important thing.
If she was interested in the smoke sword, Maggie REALLY seemed interested in flying. Brock couldn't blame her, flying was awesome. "Yeah, I can do that. Usually works best with something lightweight. Dagger, lighter sword, maybe a staff. Can put it in something heavier if you want." Maybe he should have been clearer about types, she didn't know as much about weapons as he did. It was sort of a lost art, weapon appreciation.
Maggie layed back and relaxed as Brock spoke more about the smoke sword, which seemed to be his pride and joy. Course, its made out of smoke. I would be proud of it too it if I could make a magic sword out of smoke Maggie mused as she relaxed, watching Brock from the corner of her eyes.
"But how does the holder make it solid or have it pass through? Vocal comand or thought?" Maggie asked as Brock spoke about the smoke sword, trying to think of how it could work while also trying to keep out logic. Logic didn't truly work in their world anyway. Not with all the superheros and supervillians and such.
Maggie smiled at the thought of flying, though she was unsure about carrying a weapon around. "What other abilities can you give your creations?" Maggie asked, curious about what else they could do and what abilities it could give other people. If he has something that can make me speak the languages I hear and read, I would carry it with me forever, Maggie thought, not realizing how dangerous such a thing was.
"It's kind of a mix, part thinking for itself and part responding to your thoughts. If you need to block it turns solid, when you attack only the parts that hit turn solid. Everything else just slips through as smoke." Hellsmith couldn't resist gushing about his pride and joy. Maggie seemed really interested, especially for someone not really into weapons.
Her next question was tougher. He had trouble even thinking about them all. "There's like, a hundred of them. It's hard to keep track." He was about to ask her what she was looking for, but realized that would have sounded like a salesman. He was here for a date, not to arrange a weapon. "I could like, put together a list sometime." That would probably be better. Maybe now they could focus on the whole date thing a little more.
Brock laid back on his towel again, stretching out. They still had the whole day ahead of them, and things were going well already. "When I get back to the forge I'll figure something out." He sat up, looking over at her. "We still got the beach to ourselves for now. What you wanna do today?"
"It thinks for itself? Like an A.I?" Maggie questioned, wondering how on earth that was possible. Then remember that magic was part of how all his creations were made and decided that for anything she didn't understand the solution will be simple. A wizard did it with magic.
Maggie watched as Brock talked and it was clear to see that his creations were his pride and joy, smiling as he started to talk about making a list for her. "That will be really helpful. Thanks sweetie," Maggie said as she gave him another kiss on the cheek, smiling at him. She couldn't help but smile at Brock. After all, he was tall, good looking, had super strength and created magical weapons, and was super sweet.
"I don't mind what we do. I have nothing else planned today," Maggie said, sitting up next to him and biting her bottom lip to keep her from saying something stupid like 'As long as i'm with you'. Something silly along those lines at least. Maggie, hesitant at first, then rested her head on Brocks shoulder, sighing as she relaxed.
Now it was Hellsmith's turn to be confused. What did she mean like an AI? It was probably some nerdy brainy thing. "I guess, yeah." If she thought it was similar it was probably close enough. He didn't want to let on that he didn't understand. Brock didn't want to seem stupid. He could just go look it up later if he felt like it.
"No problem." Aw yeah, he was in cheek kiss central right now. He reminded himself to leave the more gruesome and brutal effects off the list. Maggie was a sweet girl, she didn't want to hear about Death Dealer blades and stuff like that. He would provide some cool stuff, like flying or strength. Then she could pick from the nicer powers.
Maggie bit her lip again, resting her head on his shoulder. It was kind of adorable when she did that. Brock put an arm around her waist, resting his head on hers. "Well, we got all day to figure something out." It took all his willpower not to let his hand drift lower. He didn't know how prim and proper Maggie was, she might take offense to that. He wasn't going to just suddenly screw things up after making this much progress.
That makes sense, it having an AI to allow it to defend and fight for itself in that way. Clever, actually. Maggie thought as she rested against Brocks shoulder. It was comfortable, being curled up next to him with his head resting on hers and an arm around her waist. And his hand wasn't straying either!
"It must be pretty cool, being able to make stuff like that and have super strength. Any other tricks or superpowers up your sleeve?" Maggie couldn't help but question, wondering what else he could do. "You can't read minds, can you?" Maggie asked, eyes widdening at the thought of him being able to read her mind. That would explain quite a bit of all the grins hes given out. And with her thoughts...Oh please say he can't read minds. Oh please oh please oh please Maggie thought, mortified if he could.
"Exactly," Maggie said, enjoying just being by his side when an idea popped into her head. "Of course, we can always go and visit your forge place." Maggie said, turning her head to look at him a grin on her face. It would be interesting to see as well as give them something to do.
She sounded pretty nervous at the idea of him reading minds. Just what had she been thinking? Hellsmith was REALLY wishing he could right then, if she was so spooked about it it must have been something good. Maybe she was thinking as many dirty things as he was. Probably impossible, but a man could dream. "No, never really picked that one up. My only other trick is transforming to go full power, really. And I guess that adds toughness to the mix." He wondered if he should show off the full power for her. It was a pretty impressive sight, and Maggie did seem fond of muscles. She would probably raise the sea level drooling if he did.
He looked down at her, grinning back at the idea of going to his forge. That was actually a good plan, no wonder she was the brainy one. It was a cool place, and it gave them some privacy. It was perfect. "Sure, sounds great hon." Hopefully none of his other ladies would stop by for a visit while they were there, that could be awkward. Brock stood, helping Maggie to her feet before slipping on his sandals and taking up his towel. He secretly hoped that Maggie would be satisfied to walk with him as-is, but she might be too bashful for that. The girl had confidence problems.
Thank goodness Maggie thought as Brock stated that no, he could not read minds. That would of made things really awkward. Got lucky with that one, I did. Maggie listened as he stated that his only other ability was his transforming into full power which wasn't that bad. It was just a way to reach his full abilities if he truly needed them.
Maggie could tell from his grin that he thought her idea of going to the forge was a grand idea, and grinned right on back at him. Especially after he called her Hon. "Thanks sweetie. Besides, it will be fun to see where you make all those cool swords and weapons and stuff." Maggie said as Brock helped her to her feet before she started to put away her things. She slipped back on her shorts and her shirt, though left it unbutton. It was comfortable to wear her clothes and besides, she didn't know who else might see her while shes out and about. Needed to look somewhat civilized.
"I'll let you lead the way," Maggie said as she shouldered her bag that held all of her things, waiting for Brock to lead the way.
"Thanks. Maybe I can whip something up while we're there." He was disappointed that she wasn't going to stay in the swimsuit, but at least she had left the shirt open. He could sneak a peek every now and then. Besides, who knew what she would keep on when they got there. It was thoughts like that that kept Hellsmith going.
He took Maggie's hand, leading her through town. It wasn't too long a walk, but it brought them through some of the shadier parts of town. Luckily, Hellsmith had a reputation. People around here had seen him carrying appliances, bundles of scrap metal, and even small cars back to his forge. They weren't going to cause any trouble for him or his latest lady friend. Before too long, they arrived at a chain-link fence with slats woven into it, hiding the lot inside from the outside world. There was a gate, but Brock always locked it from the inside and he didn't feel comfortable leaving Maggie outside while he went over to unlock it. "Hang on." he said, putting an arm around her waist. One superpowered jump carried them easily over the fence, with more than a yard of clearance over the barbed wire at the top.
He set her down inside the yard, giving her a moment to take in the sights. His home was unimpressive, just a one-story building that had seen better days. Outside of it stood a fully-equipped forge, with an ornate hammer lying across the anvil. It looked like something out of a fantasy movie. "This is where the magic happens. Speaking of magic, don't touch the hammer. It's linked to my powers, and it gets fussy if anyone else tries to pick it up."
He was going to cook? "Okay," Maggie said, once more looking Brock up and down. She was surprised to hear that, for she didn't peg him as a cooking guy. Hes just full of surprises, Maggie thought as she took his hand, letting her lead her through the city.
To a shady part of town. Like, a really shady part of town, where if you somehow get lost in while driving you don't stop for nothing. No stop signs, no red lights, nothing. You keep driving till your out. And Brock had brought her to this side, and boy did she cling to his side, tense and looking at everything with wide eyes.
When they reached the chain-link fence with slates that hid the lot from those walking by, Maggie tensed even more. Was he going to leave her here, outside and by herself, while he unlocks it? Luckily, Brock decided to just jump them over, grabbing hold her her waist and superjumping over the fence. Maggie did hang on, clinging to Brock for dear life and closing her eyes. And there goes my stomach Maggie thought as her stomach tightened and dropped before they finally landed. Oh thank goodness Maggie thought as she opened her eyes and saw the yard.
It looked like something out of a fantasy movie, even having a hammer lying across an anvil, while the building itself being more modern and unimpressive. Maggie was staring at the hammer and had almost been tempted on trying to pick it up but in hearing Brock say that it got fussy when others tried to pick it up she put her hands safely into her pockets. "Noted. Don't touch the hammer," Maggie repeated as she looked around the rest of the forge, her movements slow.
The trip there was pretty nice. Maggie seemed pretty nervous about the part of town, and she was clinging to him the whole time. Brock kept his arm around her shoulder. This was part of the reason he chose this part of town. Another was to discourage his girlfriends from coming there on their own and finding out about each other. It hadn't occurred to Hellsmith that since most of his girlfriends had some sort of superpower, they might not be so scared of a rough neighborhood or two.
The hop over the fence was fun, too. Maggie clung to him like a distressed damsel in an old movie. With her eyes closed, Brock was free to ogle her with impunity as they jumped, watching for any sort of bounce. They landed, and before she opened her eyes he'd put on an expression of concern. "You okay?" he asked, letting her go.
Hellsmith walked over, setting his towel aside and kicking off his sandals. "Make yourself at home, sweetie." He picked up the hammer, turning it over in his hand. "This is the key to it all. This hammer can shape anything like it's metal. Wood, ice, water, smoke, anything." He smiled proudly. "I could demonstrate if you want."
"Yeah, i'm okay. Just not used to the superjumps," Maggie said with a smile as her stomach worked on getting back to normal. Not used to any physical powers but I better get used to them quick, Maggie thought, though she wasn't sure how well that was going to work out. Her body wasn't used to that kind of stuff and she wasn't sure if it ever will be.
Maggie watched from the corner of her eyes as Brock kicked off his sandals and made himself at home and, at his insistance, put down her own bag though she kept her sandals on. No way was she going to accidently step on something and have to go to the hospital for shots and stuff. Not that she disliked hospitals or shots or anything, but Maggie did dislike pain. Pain meant crying and Maggie was an ugly crier. Some girls have those pretty cries where only one single tear will fall and they're face stays all nice and normal. Not Maggie. When she cried, its a flood and her faces turns into a red blob of sorts. Also, theres usually snot, which stinks and is very unattractive.
Maggie approached as Brock picked up the hammer, watching as he turned it over in his hand. "So its the hammers ability, not yours? Like you just make the weapons while the hammer gives it that special superpower kick?" Maggie asked, a smile blooming on her lips as he said that he could demonstrate for her before nodding her head.
"You might get used to it. We can get all sorts of places jumping like that." Especially places you weren't supposed to. Hellsmith had a habit of breaking and entering to get his materials, and not everything was jump or scrap. Occasionally he would just up and carry a car off the lot in the middle of the night, breaking it down for the steel.
Brock was a little disappointed that Maggie wasn't ditching the shirt and shorts, but he didn't mention it. It would probably not go over too well if he just outright asked her to take her clothes off. The demon boy tossed his hammer into the air, catching it idly. "Well, it's a mix. The power comes through me, but the hammer makes it easier and lets me work with the weird materials. It changes them so they'll work as weapons. Ice that never melts, that sort of thing." Hellsmith didn't know the ins and outs of his power too well. He hadn't paid much attention, didn't understand much when he did, and eventually the other demons had given up on explaining the specifics.
He set the hammer back down, giving Maggie a grin. "I can do a demonstration if you want." He might finally get to show off his true form for her. He was guessing Maggie would love it, it was even bigger and musclier than he was now. Poor girl might faint.
"Really?" Maggie questioned, raising an eyebrow at Brock. I doubt that they're all legal places, She thought, which made her shift her weight. She was a good person, a good citizen, and the idea of doing anything seen as illegal was off putting.
Maggie watched as Brock tossed the hammer up into the air, impressed that he was able to catch it without much care. If it were her, she would of thrown it too high and then run for it to make sure it didn't land on her. "So it channels it? The magic, I mean?" Maggie asked, curious. He didn't seem to know much about this power, only seeming to know that he could do it and whatnot.
"Really? I mean, cool." Maggie said with a bright smile on her face. Oh my gosh! Hes going to demonstrate! Maggie thought, looking around carefully before climbing up on some of the steadier scrap that acted as a step stool so that she could give him another kiss.
Brock nodded, not getting the hint of disapproval. "Yeah, there's some cool views you can only get to with a couple big leaps. I'll have to show you sometime." He left out the more illicit stuff for now. Maggie was a major Titans fan, she might get a little weird if she found out he was a supervillain. Not that he thought of himself as one, but Brock knew the definition of that word was overly broad.
"Yeah, kinda amplifies it too." It was getting harder to hide his ignorance. Brock really hoped Maggie would be sufficiently distracted by his offer, he didn't want too many more questions. Lucky for him, Maggie seemed to be charmed by the offer. She climbed up to him, giving him another kiss. Hellsmith slipped an arm around her waist, smiling down at her. Even with her makeshift steps, he was still a fair bit taller. "Sure, anything special you want me to make it from? I got a few materials around here I could use." He could have made her something metal, but that didn't seems special enough. After all the bragging about unique weapons, Maggie might even be disappointed with plain old steel. Hellsmith was going to impress her, no matter what.

The roleplay takes place after the series end of the original Teen Titans animated show, but does not include the movie Trouble in Tokyo. Since then Robin has been on something of a recruiting spree, and many new young heroes have found themselves a home in Jump City as well as Titan Tower.
